  • where did that picture of zelda come from?

  • If Rockstar did take out the trendy worship, the Scarface worship, exotic spin, and amped up the story mode, we would get...... Red Dead Redemption.

  • I think you'll love Destroy All Humans.

  • Isn't Red Dead pretty much what he was talking about with new settings?

  • YES! I to prefer Vicy City over San Andreas. I have never been a huge fan of GTA, but Vicy City is by far my favorite because of the style.

  • Wow, he knows that about Arwen and Aragorn? I think I HAVE to sub now...

  • HOLD ON! BACK THE FUCK UP! Did you just diss Saints Row? Granted the first one wasn't that great, but the second was god. Did you just diss Saints Row?

  • @NinjaRacoonDelta2 Hey, I like it too, but don't go apeshit over one opinion. You're better than that.

  • @Racecarlock Alright, alright. I just get kind of mad when my 2nd favorite game of all time (first being FO3) gets beat around.

  • @NinjaRacoonDelta2 That doesn't make him wrong, it makes you insecure. Who cares if other people don't all like what you do? What matters is you still like it, you still enjoy it, you still get your moneys worth. Don't let other people's criticism get you all riled up. That's what fanboys do.

  • Future Zelda with Midna? YES PLEASE.

  • I've played a good bit of GTA, have San Andreas. Thought it was boring a fuck tbh. Sad thing is I'm the only person I know who felt that way. Everyone else I know-& literally every man in school/college has played them-seem to think of these games as these flawless Godlike creations. I don't get it. They never left any impression on me at all, not like Metal Gear Solid or Metroid Prime say.

  • 9:13 me want.

  • 0:16 where did that picture come from?

  • I Generally agree with moviebob but he said something contradictory. I Felt the same way about this game but i still have to admit its a great game and objectively it does deserve its great ratings. I like GTA4 but the reason i play gta is for the sandbox experience and not the narrative, San Andreas has much more cheats and is generally more fun so i like it better. But nonetheless Gta4 is close to being a masterpiece.

  • Sorry dude but you're nothing but a Mario fanboy.

If GTA was a platform game about a plumber you would fucking worship it.

  • @DreddDwarf Of course he would, that's a Mario game. Your criticism doesn't mean anything. It's "you'd like it if it was Mario," which makes NO sense in the context of your criticism.

  • @SideSmash

    Get over yourself.

  • @DreddDwarf As soon as your criticism starts making sense. Only want to help you out, bud.

  • I'd really like to see how Bob feels about RDR since it pretty much exactly what he wanted out of Rockstar's technology.

  • @ViridianGames, check the date of the video, now go look up the release dates of those games. Then? Shut the flow of shit spewing from the rectum you call a mouth.

  • and still gta spawned saints row(especially 2) which is the pinnacle of mindless fucking around in a big game world. It's not high art, it's just fun and i like in between BG&E and SOTC

  • Bully, Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire. Motherfucker.

  • ting at is that Grand theft auto san andreas wasnt a great game for what they rammed down your throat. it was special for those crazy little things you had to do a bit of digging for. :)

  • Personally what i thought Grand theft auto San Andreas did best was its comical use of the obscene. It is the only grand theft auto where i can fly a jetpack to the forest where i find a quad. Than drive it untill i find the nearest town, from there i steal a bus and type in the FLYING CARS CHEAT (caps because it is insane fun) and then do an air ballet to my private desert airstrip and take my vto jet and shoot up cars until i hit a piece of scenery that hasnt appeared yet. Anyways what im get

  • GTA's story is really goo though right?

  • Hey Overthinker, Try out Saints Row 2. I think its what your looking for. ITS SUPA OVER THE TOP. And if that dosent satisfy you you can always get RDR

  • RDR was a GTA like game. and it was good.

  • @moviebob

so about the "really angry meh" pic... do you watch much dbz? is that the kind of anime you like, and if not, what do you?

  • Why does everyone seem to let Majora's Mask sit in Ocarina of Time's shadow? I loved that game so much. It seemed just as good and maybe a little better. But Ocarina of Time is truly a classic.

  • You'd end up with Red Dead Redemption.

  • Best game since ocarina of time?!....

    MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! BEST JOKE EVER!

If that were to be true, Mass Effect 2 would be the best fucking game ever. Still got lower reviews than GTA4, but countless times better.

  • Hmm, something irks me about this episode, and I don't think it's just 'coz I just watched one of my favourite gaming franchises take a spanking. Firstly, don't be hypocritical Mr. Overthinker; you may not be reiviewing GTAIV specifically but you were criticising the games as a whole and how they have developed and progressed. 2nd, it seems your complainst are not about GTA, but about how sandbox games haven't fulfilled their potential because GTA's too popular. Uh, that's not really it's fault.

  • i liked vice city, it was lively and satrical was like the best of what i just missed as a kid but magnified,

  • ....holy smeg. Someone DOES like Shenmue! THANK YOU!

Part of the reason I enjoyed the game (and got ticked off at anyone mocking the weird vocal dialog), was because oh how... well free you could move. The fact you could learn the skills you want, play video games or visual games.... and be emersed.

Never made the connection to GTA though. Hmmmm.

Keep writing thiese. Why isn't this on escapist. This rocks

  • And as the supposed release date (Q4 of last fiscal year; from now to March 31) of Skyward Sword looms over us, I am saddened at the absence of Midna or anything else regarding the Twili.

  • the only thing i disagree on is george carlin rocks dude what do you have against him?

  • I think GTO is getting listened to by game developers, or is it a coincidence that the newest "GTA" is set in the old west and called Red Dead Redemption. Seriously, Overthinker, once you're done with the antithinker stuff, you really need to look at that game.

  • I fucking love Shenmue.

  • Shenmue rocks.

  • It's sad he didn't enjoy Saint's Row. Both it and its sequel were nothing but over-the-top hilarity making fun of the ENTIRE genre from start to finish. I honestly couldn't think of anything to dislike about those games, and could talk for hours about either of them.

  • personal opinion, saints row 2 has got it right, its keeping the humour and over the top ridiculousness that GTA lost in GTA IV, saints row 2 is not trying to be realistic like the latest GTA

  • lets just look at gta in a whole like this:

    -good 20+ single player

    -decent to great multiplayer

    -rampages :)

    -b+ story in general

-best game so far is about a cowboy which is basicly grand theft horse

  • I realize this video is kind of old so you probably don't check the comments anymore bob, what with your success at the escapist and what not, but for your sake as a proud new englander. We like to pronounce it "Bang-or" not "banger" the sooner the world learns that, the sooner poor mainers can stop cringing whenever it is mentioned in pop culture.

  • "which nobody bought" =(

  • Still holding on to my hope for a Shenmue 3. Yeah, I know, it won't happen, but one can hope, right?

  • i never understood how gta4 got all those 10s. its good. and that's it. look at it now. you'd think with those kind of scores it would have changed the way games were made forever, but it's influence has only hovered over z-list games. anyway great vid. you do some good work moviebob

  • 6:48

    what the-

    ok im sorry but... what?

Saints Row is and was basicly just trollin' round whit others ideas and making a spectacle out of itself and thus also bringing attention to the flaws of its roots.

  • Am I the only one who waited for the Shenmmue ending (3) that never got made? xD, cause I sincerely loved that game... and it's true , I believe it would be great if we could use an engine like GT4s for something besides shooting and etc..

  • W00T SOMEONE LIKES MIDNA!!!

She is awesome. Way more awesome than Navi.

  • Well then good sir. We have reached an impasse. Since I DO find 1990s South Central to be way more interesting than the campy cartoony Miami Vice/Scarface rip off. But suspect this has something to do with the difference between our respective ages.

  • I never completed GTA4 but if midna was included I would XD LOL

  • Spot on, Midna definitely rocks. She rocks so hard that it makes write a comment on a two year old video of yours ...

  • @Baalthazzar Ugh, Midna makes me miss Navi.

  • The funny thing around 9:00 where you talk about the levels of Double Dragon changing into a temple, is apparently how another lame GTA knockoff True Crime: Streets of LA progress into somewhat like a wannabe Big Trouble in Little China LOL! I didn't play it but a friend of mine did and told me about it.. Should have had a goofy Shenmue-like moment of asking where you could find some sailors XD

  • I like your commentaries. Like ALOT. Mostly you speak the truth, and this video is over 2 years old, but I'm going to comment anyway. Its sounds like, as alot of people probably say, you just really like nintendo. You never really pit it against like, beyond good and evil or any non nes/nintendo based game. I guess you do the Shenmue stab but, eh. Not enough characters to convey a complete thought, so...f it. Good work stating how you feel.

  • Why do I get the feeling he would really might like just cause 2 form what he told me it made me feel like it was the school bionic commando but replace hitler with baby Panay and both the main charactors have grappling hooks the they use get around and plus the sandbox is a whole damn country so take a look overthinker/movie bob I think you could like it:)

  • I couldn't agree more about reviewers being afraid of fanboys. When is the last time you remember anyone saying anything bad about Mario?

  • Agree...for the most part. However, the whole "not something to obsess about" doesn't say much. I was never one to obsess over GTA4 either, but the same can be said for Zelda, Metroid or Mario, just not something I ever cared about. But what I can tell you is the entire story of Silent Hill or Resident Evil (just 2 quick examples) and I mean DETAILED story that includes information from journals found through the games, cutscenes, alternative endings etc.

  • I think you've missed the point of GTA. It's not deep, it's not satire--it's a toy. It's a vehicle through which we fanboys can live out of the gangster fantasies we will never live in real life. And that's why we love it. And when GTA4 tried for depth, it was a 6/10 for me, not a 10/10 like San Andreas. It's depth is very unoriginal, teaches no great lessons, is very depressing and takes away a lot of the light-hearted fun.

  • Eternal Sonata! FUCK YES! That game is a master piece! I was personally surprised I had never heard of it before I was loaned it from a friend. I thank you for inadvertently confirming my opinion in this matter.

  • The whole point of GTA is to play it and enjoy stealing cars, not get emotionally invested in the story.

  • @Joebo3 Dude.. he IS the Game OVERTHINKER xD

  • State of Emergency was released quite some time before GTA: SA. So the pic doesn't really fit in your slideshow there.

Otherwise, nice vid, even though you might have been exposed to a little bit too much Nintendo radiation if you really want to change the aspects of the franchise you say you do. You want more fantasy and/or sci-fi in your free-roamer? Well, why not go for Jak II: Renegade or Jak 3?

Or is that already going up and beyond your vision?

  • If you take Grand Theft Auto out of crime-infested modern urbania it ceases to be Grand Theft Auto...because it became Red Dead Redemption.

  • If this is the case, I think I have a proposition: Rockstar, why not take a crack at "Grand Theft Auto Future". Steal futuristic spaceship-esque vehicles, use high tech weaponry, who knows, maybe have a little 'hot coffee mod' with aliens

  • Shenmue sucked ass, it was coded boredom!!!!

  • The Overthinker speaks the truth, Midna DOES indeed fucking rock. They need to do something with her, or at least with the Twilight Realm and the Twili.

Perhaps instead or Hyrule, the majority of the action takes place in there! The shadow magic could be the next 'thing' for Link to have! Who cares about a Wind Waker when you can break chains with your mind? If you read these Mr. Nintendo-worker, think on it!

    I don't know, it's just my 2 cents.

Just so long it's not another Phantom Hourglass.

  • @ATetrisBlock Personally, I don't care for Midna. She felt, to me, like what MovieBob called a "Poochie" in the Sonic videos; Someone who was designed to be appealing, like Axl from Mega Man X7. I preferred Tetra from Wind Waker because she felt like a genuine character to me, unlike Midna or the Zelda from Spirit Tracks,(Nintendo, pro-tip: The best way to make an active character out of Princess Zelda is to drop the Princess part. Or just replace her with Malon.) who reeked of marketing.

  • @MigeulP

That is the stupidest idea ever and will never happen.

And seriously Midna is a pretty damn original character in both design, personality and backstory. And you're comparing her to POOCHIE? That's just stupid.

And what was wrong with the Spirit Tracks Zelda? Maybe not everyone likes the idea of turning her into a comic relief character or putting her inside a giant robot, but having her become part of the action throughout the whole game is still a really cool step forward.

  • @kingboobs20 Original? Maybe in design. Personality? She's a tsundere with femme-fatale flavoring. Backstory? Go read pretty much any fanfiction written by a girl centered around/heavily featuring an "OC." And I wasn't comparing her to Poochie, I was calling her a Poochie and comparing her to Axl from Megaman X7, another Poochie.

And Zelda was just plain unappealing as a character to me in Spirit Tracks. She was just forced on me by the game, expecting me to like her rather than letting me.

  • @MigeulP

Congratulations, you read TVtropes way too f*cking much and now you can't concieve of the difference between tropes and actual cliches. A common problem among morons on the internet who really want to pretend they are experts on fiction writing.

I pretty much meant that she was a fresh chance of pace for the series. And marketing? The character was barely even featured in the game's marketing campaigns, even if she is the titular character.

  • @kingboobs20 Tatl was a fresh change of pace for the series. Midna was just an obnoxious screen-time hog fresh off of FF.net. And when I say she "reeks of marketing," I don't mean promotional materials. We all know we all know the only advertising Nintendo has to do is write "New Zelda out now" on billboards. I meant she felt designed by the marketing department, rather than conceived as a genuine character.

  • soooo true midna FUCKING ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • i really hate how he throws saints row into the pile of imitators

if he had actually played the game he would have enjoyed it a lot more, i far prefer saints row(2) as opposed to gta4 because of the outlandish style and how ridiculous and funny the story, gameplay and characters are

i would play either saints row over vice city any day

  • um... wiki is a lie lol

    either way

    i do agree

  • You're such an ugly as fatfuck quit trying to act like a true Nintendo fanboy

  • Grand Theft Auto: Raccoon City! Its realism and nightmare fuel!

  • The next one should have a female protagonist. Two words: Male prostitutes.

  • If you hate GTA, try Saint's Row. It's not perfect, but it's FUN

  • I think that, like the Grand Theft Auto series, the Fallout series, and World of Warcraft, are just some examples of games where you could go about the game as you desire, much like the Grand Theft Auto series, just without the gangsters, crime, and all that.

  • Shenmue.

    Underratedness.

  • i think I disagree with the the statement about san andreas. I think the game was mostly marketed to anyone who was a part of this culture around this time. it was actually very nostalgic to me and my older brothers. and its actually based on the true to life rise of the bloods. they just changed the names of the gangs.

  • I can't touch Bob. He even admits that his misgivings are due in part to his personal dislikes.

    Still, GTA IV is a 10 for me. I'm not a kid. I'm 27.

I think most games are immature and vapid. GTA IV is a winner in terms of its characters being believable and in many cases sympathetic.

It's the highbrow mixed with the lowbrow. Hell, Shakespeare did it. He commonly used bawdy humor to please the penny seats while he told his poignant stories.

GTA IV is the apotheosis of storytelling.

  • I wonder if they could make a GTA game on 1970s Las Vegas, like a video game of the Hunter Thompson book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (one of my favorite books) It seems like the perfect setting. They could even make the protagonist like Raoul Duke. So what do you think?

  • So what did you think of Saints Row 2? I heard from some people such as Yahtzee that it's better than GTA4, though then again, Yahtzee seems to hate most video games.

  • Negative reviews tend to be more entertaining than positive ones.

  • @kjcasey42 Yes they are, if they're done well, but aside from watching the AVGN or the Nosalgia Critic, I watch reviews to see if I should buy a game or not, not for entertainment. And I don't watch youtube reviews of retro games anymore, unless they're talking about VC games because they're all the same. I already know that Shaq Fu is terrible and that Super Mario Bros. 3 is great. I would like to see something different, though, such as a person defending Shaq Fu, IF he gives good reasons.

  • Fair enough. I was just saying, you know?

  • And some people seem to bash reviewers when they disagree with them. For instance, a reviewer on YT said that Madworld was just worth a rent, and wasn't that good. He had good arguments, such as that it was too easy, and the camera was wonky. But people seem to think a review is good only if they agree with what the reviewer says. (I haven't played Madworld, but it looks good, so I'll probably buy it eventually.) I think there's a problem when reviewers just preach to the choir.

  • rockstar made bully

  • What about the whole San Andreas Area 51 part?

    FUCK! that was sick.

Anyway i'm a big rockstar fan, so...

I love Warriors, Bully & all that stuff & i love the fact that they'r so fucking cliche & inmature about stuff on their games to me it seem fun & thats something that with other games it dosn't.

    I love Rockstar's games.

&GTA didn't start on PSX, it started on PC BTW.

  • That whole "GTA5 with temple of doom" thing reminded me of the "near ending" to True Crime Streets of L.A.

One moment I'm sneaking into a chinese laundry and, before I know it, I'm in the middle of some sort of underground volcano shooting the flying demons from Doom. That came out of fucking nowhere.

  • So you've proved that a GTA game cannot be placed in a setting that isn't a crime ridden city, with realistic quality's, and within a recent year. I can live with that.

  • you know they shold make a gta in the future

it would be original but you would still get the same types of missions but with a hover car and a laser machine gun pretty creatvie but mabby do something like san andreas where there are diffrent planets with difrent enverments and diffrent gangs but still keep the same type of crime grafics and humor

  • wait... GTA has a story? Wow, I knew the game was a sandbox, but I never knew that it was so open I was actually missing a plot!

Jesus, that's fucking intense. Like camping.

  • Shenmue, that was good...

  • Comment removed

  • I have to disagree with the idea Zelda: OoT was a great game; I found it dull and lifeless on the N64, and much prefered the colourful and fun Wind Waker version on the GameCube - yeah, I know I'm in a minority, but I hate the way zelda is now were the colour is gone in favour of modern grey/brown - frankly, the Wii version is even worse. As for GTA, I actually liked SA as well as VC and IV

  • @dm121984 you obviously have down syndrome. OoT is amazing and GTA is a about as usefull as used toilet paper. Im all for shooting things and blowin up shit in a videogame but in the accumulative 20 minutes ive spent playing a GTA game at a friends house, it has left me with nothing more than a big "snore" effect. rockstar should just stick to the manhunt series. one of the few games by them that were amazing...excpet i didnt like manhunt 2 as much as the first one.

  • GTA is for casual fags

  • If you want a futuristic Zelda, try Metroid.

  • @King1N That's kind of missing the point he was making. He was basically saying that Zelda would still be Zelda even if it went swapped aesthetics from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars.

  • @King1N

Heh heh heh... I can't resist...

The Futuristic Zelda is Metroid Other M, think about it, aside from the Main Character not being silent, it's almost the same structure.

    Highly Engrossing Narrative? (IMO): Check

Explorable World only impaired by your needing a certain item at some point in the story?: check

Navi / Cortana Character Constantly Nagging you?: Check. ^_^

High Amounts of Controversy? (Wind Waker anyone?): DOUBLE CHECK.

  • Nobody buying Shenmue? I suppose compared to the GTA series, but it still managed to be the fourth best selling Dreamcast game selling 1.2 million copies. Not by by any means. I guess what I'm getting at is Shenmue rocks.

  • @papabungle While you're perfectly right (and Shenmue II was even better) 4th best selling Dreamcast game doesn't really count for much when the Dreamcast died a horrible, tragic and premature death and the series was forgotten by everyone who hadn't played it. (The rerelease of Shenmue II on the Xbox sadly didn't go anywhere.) Tragic but true; the mass-market pap always outsells the works of genius.

  • I suppose I can't agree that Shenmue has been forgotten by most of gaming history. Though even by today's standards, breaking a million sales is a fairly big deal on any council, and in my opinion, even more so on dreamcast because the council died so quickly. The problem is what GO talked about in his 17th video; Councils are so niche driven that anything that doesn't fit into that niche won't to in this market. Its sad really.

  • gta 4 sux ballz!!!!!!!

  • agreed

  • Whoa wtf, Aragorn and Arwen are cousins?

  • umm no there not

  • Fuck yeah! Shenmue is still the best realized virtual city. But the gaming comunity has spoken through their reviews and voted with their dollars; they wish for instant gratification, not for a good story.

Think about this; Shenmue is very cliched, and the acting is involuntarily funny at times.and this is the best that has been realized in the open world genre? COME ON

There is still hope though; Basically anything by quantic dream and not to forget Bioshock. Can't wait for Heavy Rain!

  • Did you say "modern Armania?" at 8:03

  • Urbania

  • No guns here, sir. GTA4 sucks.

  • it all sucks, let it all die -_-

  • Hmm. The very end of this reminded me of Rockstar's Bully, which... While interesting, it had the potential to be more than it is.

It's basically GTA in a school setting, (and with the violence and crime toned down proportionally), but otherwise much the same.

    It makes you wonder...

  • midna is fucking badass

  • I say Rockstar should give it a trie to revive their other Sandbox game of which I liked the setting a lot more but the gameplay was way too primitive, I am talking of course of Body Harvest which was sort of like GTA but you were a good guy and you fought War of the Worlds type Aliens and you had to save people instead of kill them (although you could kill innocent people if you felt like it) now that would be fucking awsome

  • I agree too that Midna should come back in another Zelda game she is the best sidekick Link has had. and where did you get that picture of Zelda? I've never seen it.

  • Uncharted 2 is a good reason to consider ps3. It looks and plays beautifully. It's the best console game I can say I have ever played. But, like GTA, I would like to see all this awesome gameplay take place in a sci-fi setting. Just another reason why Halo is the only fps I enjoy. Non-realism preferred.

  • Haven't played enough of the GTA series to compare your critique of the games to my own, but I must concur completely with statement about Midna. Definitely should have her in another Zelda game at least.

  • its true that non-realism dont go over well in these kinds of games

    example:

in true crime LA there was a level where you fought zombies and a fire dragon.

critics and players always mention that as the main falt of the game

  • Come on overthinker shenmue is a damn good game but not everyone can like it

  • ive never actually played shenmu..but i know what it is

i want to play it but there seems to be a 50/50 argument on how good or bad the game is

  • well i guess it really depends on how much patience you have but people usually have good things to say about it i think 50/50 is a little ridiculous i'd say if your a hardcore gamer who can stand the intricate nature of any rpg, you'd like shenmue or if you can stand sub par voice acting and a deep storyline with a large emphasis on exploration you'd like shenmue

  • Wow, you... are a Midna fan too? That is righteous!

She was the only reason I played TP and even got into Zelda in the first place.

Such excellent development had me yearning for more Midna.

I hope that we at LEAST get a reference to her in the next game.

I tip my Fedora to you, good sir.

    Regards,

    -Justin.

  • I think that Rockstar could expand their fanbase by a large margin if they did a crazy-ass (or at least different) take on the GTA formula. Like say you get a mysterious call to do a massive weapons trade with some big-shot dealer, but it turns out the guy is an agent for the FBI, and pretty soon, you're running all over the place, from country to country, while you're being chased down by the feds, trying to find out who set you up. And there's some crazy twist near the end.

  • For example, say it turns out your boss set you up, because he thinks you're gaining too much power in the organization, and he makes a deal with the FBI, so he can get a cut of the money, quit the business, and go live off on his own, with all his money. Or maybe it was an old rival, who you sent to jail way back when, and he's getting revenge. Hell, these are right off the top of my head, I'm sure Rockstar could do a whole lot better with a whole team of people, and a couple months time.

  • what are you talking about they changed alot and the story is very interesting and hes not just trying to make it to the top, hes looking for someone

  • san andreas may not have been super serious all the way through but there were elements of story that portrayed the protagonist's struggle with street life and his point of view about it really well. It's just hard to make something with that serious of a narrative and string it together tight enough in a sandbox game and still make it open and fun. San Andreas and Saint's Row are fun to me cause they remember that it is JUST A GAME and they're more focused on zany gameplay elements and variety

  • Personally, I thought that Vice City and GTAIII were much more zany, especially considering how much their exploit their settings.

  • I got it! How about an old Jimmy Cagney ripoff GTA. Set it in the '20s and yes prohibition. I wont get "the young people" but it will be artistically different. Maybe...

  • They did already. It's called Mafia for PS2 and XBox.

  • i want to see this guy rant on fallout 3...

from the way he describes gta san adreas downfalls, i think he wouldn't have to many problems with fallout

  • All 3 Fallout are amazing. The series makes so many jokes about pop culture that it's only rival is the EarthBound series-& EarthBound f***ing rules! The gameplay is incredible, the story is great, & all the games are incredibly amazing.

  • He constantly says good things about Capcom, Square Enix, LittleBigPlanet, & Metal Gear a lot.

  • Wait, he said good things about Metal Gear?

  • yes. in v9 he said that little big planet was the only game not featuring solid snake that wuld make him consider a ps3

  • That was V17, but I guess you do have a point. But then again, what else does the PS3 have?

  • ninja gaiden? i dont liek the ps3.

  • I'm pretty sure Ninja Gaiden is also on XBox 360.

  • not the newest one

  • Oh really? I wouldn't know about that.

  • Shenmue was bad ass!!!

  • Oh yeah, I LOVED the ending. I laughed out loud at that last line. And I am SO with you in regards to praising Shenmue.

  • Personally, I thought before GTA4's release that Niko would have been a diffrent stripe. It kinda sucked that when they had such potential to play a different direction of someone who's deeply involved in crime organization trying to claw his way out, and instead made him just another forgetable cut-n-paste characters the GTA universe is renowned for.

  • Honestly, I thought that San Andreas & GTA III's main characters were pretty stale, Vice City's main character was pretty good, & Niko Bellic was real deep. I think you're right-it's impossible to top Niko.

Also, they definitely need to push reality, or at least scenary. Imagine a GTA game where it starts out in gang-run Oakland & through many plots twists ends out a war-torn country in a huge a** civil war. (nuclear warfare?) How mother f***ing awesome would that be? I'd sell my soul for it.

  • Shenmue fucking ROCKED!

  • hes right about shenmue. i thought that while my twin was so into gta4.after playing both shenmue games it became my favorite game of all time and that wont change. people just missed it cuz of the ps2 coming out with the dvd player.

Play it and prove me wrong.

    Saga should make a third.

  • I think Niko is a pretty deep character for a GTA game. Toomy is my favorite and Speed is not bad either. I didn't likr SA that much

Most shit we hear on the radio is snap, churnk, club music that shit is not hip hop or rap.

  • From the sound of this video, I'd say someone never got past the first (and smallest) part of San Andreas.

  • GTA IV was okay. I have the occasional moments of fun, but... it just wasn't that fun. I am looking forward to Red Faction: Guerrilla because... well, it looks more fun and like it's got more to do and looks... somewhat original. A game on Mars? Fuck yes. Sign me up.

  • lol I was think almost the entire video that you should play Shenmue haha but it is an awesome game (Shenmue that is, get bored with GTA really fast)

  • Hmm...interesting look.

  • GTA4 is the most overrated games since halo... by god do i have GTA4 but halo aint that bad

  • GTA 5 the temple of doom!!

  • O god you are a Midna fanboy. This and the comment about the IDF.... just make me cringe. Go play Wind Waker, King of Red Lions for the real win.

But the point of the video is solid as always.

  • did you say Romania ? 08:00

  • urbania

  • I like how you include a background history before you begin your argument. Very well written.

  • Thank heavens it's there, because most people that watch Youtube would have absolutely no idea what he's talking about.

Keep up the good work MovieBob.

  • Sure one can make a GTA game in Atlantis. There are plenty of Submarines to steal wouldn't there be?

  • Dude can you plug Mario into any vid? Nice vid anyway.

  • i loved all gtas up to San Andreas, 4 was not what i was expecting from the series. with SA there was an rpg element to the game in terms of character customization, strength stamina etc. the car customization is one major reason i go back to SA and Saints Row 2. Rockstar made GTA4 too realistic and took out the stuff that made its predecessors fun. does it deserve a 10? hell no, deserves a 7.5 the soundtracks are underrated i started listening to Maiden cause i heard 2 mins to midnight in VC

  • I agree with this to a point.

Yeah GTA4 is pretty much the same game as the past 3 GTAs. Get mission, hijack car, drive from point A to point B, kill/destroy everyone, rinse and repeat. Throw in a street race once in a while and thats pretty much GTA.

That said, I I found GTA4 to be a good bundle of fun when I played it. For the first few hours...

By the time I got to the end of the game I was so terribly bored and done with it. Does it deserve a 10? No. As bad you as made it sound? No.

  • who called it the best game since The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time???

  • this is your one video that I don't agree with..... the fact that you think most people who play GTA is "gangsta" is dumb to say....I'm a metalhead and I love that game. Also you miss the point about GTA completely, sounds like your one of the people that think only unrealistic games are fun.....both are fun you just got to give them both a try.
