@yopoza I recently have been looking to purchase my first gun for recreation and home defense. I came across a video that had a father and his son shooting rabbits in there front yard with a shotgun. I looked at the video as i was curios and it set me off, then i seen this video on the list after the video ended and that is when i watched this video and it really upset me. I guess i am somewhat of a tree hugger and cant stand wathcing animals killed for no good reason at all!...

Every night in my garden theres possums rumaging about, i don't have a propper rifle, just a 177 air rifle and i shoot them in the head but it doesnt affect them, should i aim for the neck? :(

c0ddlefl0p, you should get an air rifle that does over 1000fps to effectively kill a possum with and the head is the cleanest shot to take, kneck will leave them alive for some time.

The best way to kill a possum with a 177 is to hold the gun by the barrel and hit it.

If you place the shot to the brain it should die almost instantly. its usually theirnerves in a wellplace shot like that but sometimes they play possum...that pisses me off go to grab it and the damn ting is hissing at you

Got a opossum last night myself.  Shot it at 20 yards in the left eye with my 22lr. Shot it again in the head. Again in the back. Again in the head. Then shot it in the stomach with a .40 cal pistol. Damn thing was still trying to charge me! Second shot with the .40 cal was to the head. 30 seconds later, it died. Those things are tough!
