  • I'm building a time machine, I'm going back to the 90s, and I'm just going to keep doing that with the rest of my decades.

  • saw them live in derry and got to meet glen, which was quite an interesting experience. he seems like a really cool guy.

  • I was born in 1975 , Yes Im getting older but Im proud of my 90s music .

  • I just saw them last summer, miss em? they are still touring!

  • I miss this band so much!!! Love the 90's

  • Yes, the 90s was the greatest decade for all music types.... am I just getting old or does any one else think this???

  • damn im stupid i always thought this was Gin Blossoms

  • 90s kid representing! I hate today's music. Throw me some Fastball, The Wallflowers, No Doubt, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Gin Blossoms, Everclear, Soundgarden, Beck, Blur, Sugar Ray, Collective Soul, Creed, The Cranberries, Pavement, Vertical Horizon, Len, Tonic, The Cardigans, Dave Matthews Band, New Radicals, Radiohead, Goo Goo Dolls, Barenaked Ladies, Presidents of the US of America, Nirvana, The Verve, Fatboy Slim, Placebo, Cracker, Smash Mouth, Sixpence None the Richer, etc. and I am happy!

  • He's right--something always is wrong.

  • I just discovered that TTWS are back together as a full time working band. In April of 2011 they put out a "Greatest hits" album and they are working on some new stuff. I read that they announced their official reunion back in December 2010. Just wanted to mention it for those who love these guys but were not aware of the reunion. Looking forward to hearing more great music from them.

  • Fantastic song!

  • I MISS THE 90'S.

  • Listen to the lyrics closely, and it sounds like a song about a guy talking to a girl who he is in love with, but she won't leave the guy she's with. A friend of mine mentioned this, and it makes sense. They meet in secret, and she promises to run off with him, but something is always wrong, and she won't go.

  • People are leaving all these deep and profound comments. I'm wondering why the lips are in sync but the drums are not. Go figure.

    Toad rules!!!

  • This song brings back memories of driving around with my dad as a little kid... I love listening to it now. Good memories. And I think we all know someone like the person in the song.

  • Great, underrated band; their albums are awesome. Somehow my favorite album of theirs is their live acoustic EP, which feels really intimate and is pretty much flawless.

  • Fear.

  • such an underrated band, but not by us :)

  • what part of hobbiton do they live in?

  • What can I say? Awesome song by an awesome band!! Nuff said!

  • THIS SONG AND VIDEO IS ABOUT HOW LIFE ISNT JUST SOMETHING YOU CAN BUY, OR TAKE , ITS A GIFT , ITS REALITY

  • I love this song

  • Great high school memory. We used to sit and watch MTV when they were all music videos, and would sit for hours in hopes of just seeing the one we were waiting for... Seems so long ago with reality TV and YouTube.

  • Hey I'm 21, and was born in 1990. didn't listen to this band when I was younger, stumbled across them through Scrubs the TV show actually, this truely is great band, doesn't bring back any memories just now, but in 10 years time,I'm sure it will :)

  • @jackdoc2010 i'm 21 too and i agree with you

  • such memories listening to this :) wow nostalgic

  • I'd forgotten how great this video is. TTWS is a favorite--thanks for sharing it!

  • song still holds true today..... Yeah I would like it to be the 90's again too.

  • Awesome Band... . I miss the 90's music.... I don't listen to music anymore... sad:(

  • Ahhhhhh!! Another awesome song from the Toad! Thanks!

  • Silent Bob is playing the guitar..awesome!!! Yeah!! jajajajajaja

  • that this song/video has lower than 5,000,000,000 views shows that something is most definitely always wrong with human beings and their ears. :) DULCINEA ALBUM=EPIC. :)

  • This is real music!

  • Toad the wet sprocket need to make a new album and get it played. Great band and love this song.

  • it's impossible to keep still while listening to this song :)

  • Nice clean Copy.Thank You =].

  • They were prophets. People devolving to a species that can't make friends on their own, so they need other ways to get them... precisely like facebook.

  • $39.99 is an excellent price for that band!

  • when ever I feel like crap I put Toad on...Bring's me back to life...and yrs Glenn is a total stud WOOF

  • Great band....I really like it, not the same like the others bands....good sound and good lirycs...

  • Glen was and still is such a cutie pie <3 Love this band...so many awesome memories of seeing them live back in the 90s...especially in Santa Barbara.

  • He's hot.

  • @knpeddy yes he is ;p

  • I came of age in the 90s...and have broad tastes, but Toad has always been a favorite of mine. I saw them live a lot whether they were alone, with another band, or sharing the stage at festivals...and I can tell you this. They draw the most diverse crowds of anybody I have ever seen. Stoners smoking openly, abercrombied up college kids, white-collar dads with hippie pasts, sensitive jocks, church groups, goth girls who love the lyrics, etc...etc...etc... and everybody gets along. Brilliant.

  • @ClosetPandaSerenade Very well said

  • Muito boa musica ! aprecio desde 1996 !

  • One of my favorite songs of all time.

  • I LOVE this song, but what the hell were they thinking with the video? It truly does not fit the song at ALL. Too generic, creepy and trivial.

  • @southport97 agreed. what does the video have to do with the song? And to imply that you can buy God is just plain wrong and upsetting to me.

  • @ejthomp99 It's a commentary on how happiness, God, passion, self-esteem, etc., cannot be bought.

  • @toriseddie but it CAN be sold, and is, every day. look at televangelism, prostitution, and self help seminars.

  • This is one of the VERY FEW BANDS that all the songs are Hit songs. If you haven't got this CD IT'S A MUST.

  • Bloody Awesome band and those vocals are just amazing LOVE IT .......

  • Featured video is Sponge- Plowed, that's a really awesome song from the 90's if you've never heard it, I'd def recommend. More grunge-ish than this, not that that's a good or bad thing. hugely underrated

  • In December 2010, the band announced their official reunion as a full-time working band and hinted at big plans for 2011....hope this is true.

  • What I find particularly brilliant about this song is the double layered vocals in the choruses. I posted the complete lyrics below because the backing vocals are often tough to make out. Love this song.

  • 1st chorus Again (Again we fail) It seems we meet (to meet and mend) In the spaces (The spaces safe) In between (between intents) We always say (We say too much) It won't take long (and long been gone) But something's always wrong 2nd chorus Again (Again we fail) It seems we meet (to make amends) In the spaces (And wend our way) In between (between intents) We always say (And looking back,) It won't take long (not moving on) But something's always wrong The 3rd chorus is a repeat of the 1st.
  • Song like this are few and far between. The way they make someone feel. It's great.

  • @michaelmercer89 Justin who?

  • I loved the 80's. When that decade was over I spent the 90's sad that the 80's were over. I regret that I didnt appreciate the 90's as a great decade for music as well. I've spent the first decade of the 21st century sad over both the 80's and 90's. You never appreciate what youv'e got until it goes away.

  • Wow, amazing song and I love the clip! I wish music nowadays was as good as this!

  • @michaelmercer89 .....The Black Angels - Young Dead Men a cool song by a current band....

  • The Black Angels - Young Dead Men

    Good song.....

  • Good music's out there you just don't find it on the radio. Sometimes you may but that's rather rare!

  • A band used to be just a couple of friends getting together & not to much thought put into it. They played music because they wanted to met babes & maybe make a few dollars at the same time. To me you don't write a song to appeal to the audience you write it for yourself & yes hopefully other people will enjoy it & buy it. Artist development is supposed to happen naturally along the way & not be artificially manufactured in some LA,TN, or NYC studio to appeal to 12-14 year old girl's!

  • @michaelmercer89 god bless my father for giving me his cd's and not leaving the radio to dictate my musical taste. listen to The Gaslight Anthem. I'm only 18 and i realize music has gone to shit. people my age worship Justin Bieber and Kanye West.. i roll down my windows and blast Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Live and Bruce Springsteen. So give Gaslight a shot, if nothing else, for guy with similar musical taste. But they, in my opinion, could be the music industry's last dying gasp of hope.

  • @cdudeNYR ..............The Gaslight Anthem I'll agree has good songs...

  • It really brings out some feelings. Great song.

  • I hope someday

    I'll see them in concert

    before I get too old.

    They have sound!

  • Amo eles!! Pena q os jovens de hj nunca ouviram essa banda..!! Eles são feras.. keria q existissem bandas como esta ainda...agora eh só bosta de Restart e cine!!Aff coitados deles..tenho dó da nova geração!!

  • very very nice remembers, the great song of 90s

  • One of my favourite tracks of all time...

  • Great song I agree but poeple have differed tastse I love this band but it aint for everybody

  • By the way, this is one of the best videoclips I've seen, It shows clearly how society works today...

  • You're right florand, but feel satisfied that they exist for people like us, with different sensitivity...

  • I will see them tomorrow night @ the South Gate House in KY !!! PSYCHED !

  • Saw them, back in the mid 1990s. Great performance. Lucky you to see them; what? already 3/4 days ago. Hope the gig was good!

  • @EasilyWowed it was awesome, they played about 1.5 hrs of music !

  • @EasilyWowed do you have multiple personalities? It's a shame they all didnt get to enjoy the concert.

  • Can't wait to see them tomorrow night at the Intersection in Grand Rapids!!!

  • I miss the 90s too.

  • Going to see them tomorrow night.

  • I love this song. It's my favorite Toad song. And the video is pretty clever. Notice the price for the Band at the begining of the video. The price keeps dropping throughout the video and by the end only 1 has been sold while the others sell like hot-cakes. And an interesting selection on the other items being sold: (Scapegoat: Everyone needs one / Self - Esteem: why be you / Penance Rope: No pain no gain )

  • Is it me, or did Toad the Wet Sprocket try to sound like the Gin Blossoms, or were the Gin Blossoms trying to sound like Toad the Wet Sprocket? Either way, I like both bands. :D

  • I fell in love with this song only a few years ago --- never did get the chance to hear it before XM radio. Sad, this band really deserved to go places.

  • There is something about 90's music..and its not because I was young, I think....

  • Their best song.

  • They actually play this on the radio at my shitty job.

  • I hate that they got skiped!!!!.....sooooo gooood!!!!

  • Really like this sound and the terrific harmonies. Not sure about the video ads :P

  • i love them <3 :)

  • wish i could see them live with gin blossoms

they need to go on tour together or with other 90s bands, heck i would go see em'

  • I love Toad! Im a true fan what happened to music? It isnt the same! Thank god for this and groups like them

  • the band really rocks......

  • TOAD RULES

  • this is an awsome sOng!

  • I have this cd! Great all the way thru!

  • the 90's was a very special time for music, i miss that time so much!!

  • I really miss the 90's too. Those were the days for me. Turning 16 and 21

  • Awesome idea! Feels like today!

  • Hope to see them May 15 at HOB Houston...

  • Wheres music now ????????'¿

  • Great band, great R&B song. Musicianship & harmonies that rock.

  • Florand...I hear you. Think of it this way...we are the lucky few. Music is so very homogenized. Do you have a fav song of a local band you know? Support locally!

  • @WhooHooMusic is not just one kind of music that i do like.i like all kinds of music.you can say i am open minded when it comes to music.from hip hop to country music.i live in greece there are some great 1- 2 bands wich i do support but the rest is not for me.

  • long live the 90's

  • its amazing how every vid ive seen on here of them, I heard everyday before and after high school...to bad they didnt get more recognition for thier great talent!

  • @juice8624 TESTIFY !!!

  • I Agree Toad was so underrated, but I Don't know how you guys feel but when you catch the video and song message, i feel pitty for the humankind, theyr'e right "Something is always Wrong!.. *_*

  • a very underrated band, they put out a lot of great songs, this song brings back good memories..

  • I miss the 90's T_T

  • @leogz69 As a child of the 60's I do too. So lets hope for the best, thats all I have.

  • Ok I get want your saying now. Kinda like how a rapper would say that Toad the Wet Sprocket is the shit but meaning it in a good way. Now that I'm 32 and grew up in the grunge alternative era I remember the laid back and flannel clothes and shaved hair trend that took place. I miss those days and I guess it lasted from 91-96? It's amazing how times have changed. I never watch MTV anymore. Do bands still dress emo?

  • Yeah emo killed MTV, Nickleback killed the radio. I got tired of hearing chad kroeger's diaphram every 20 min. The internet is really the only place to find good music anymore. Yes they are emo still. I am hoping shoegaze/dreampop takes over soon. I love the beautiful psychedelia

  • Nickleback's first major hit is the only song i like from them. The only bands I cared for in the past 10 yrs or so is Cold Play, and 3 Doors Down. To me they seemed to be the most unique. Cold Play has a few songs I really like but I'm not a Die Hard fan and 3 Doors Down has some good depressive songs.

Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin are my 3 favorite bands in that order. My favorite solo artists are Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

  • I could see STING playing this song! He would do it well!

  • Gotta love TTWS. I hadnt seen this video in a looooong time and about 5 years ago I saw it and laughed because my gf's (now my wife) dad looks just like Dean Denning in this video. And just so happened, he is a big TTWS fan too. He was happy he finally knew someone else who liked them as much as he did. But, when you father in law is only 13 years older than you, you are bound to have similar taste. lol

  • @Kramer, i meant that this was the shit of a band, meaning they were a great band. sorry, slang to michigan I guess..

  • This isn't a shit band. They were overshadowed by super bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.

While they had minor success compared to those bands, Toad The Wet Sprocket had a string of hits that people later in life will stop and say "Hey I remember that song and it's pretty cool, who sang it a? I give them credit that they were at least original. This is my favorite song. I'm a sucker for depressive songs.

  • he said "the shit of a band" he was being nice is a weird way. The band is awesome, the shit, whatever you want to call it.

  • this was a very good song, from the shit of a band!

  • weird video, cool song, thanks for the upload, loved this song sense i first heard it, still do...

  • love this.... Bank when music was music. Forever 90's!

  • a very good song... with soul and emotion...

  • I like this song, all I want, and crowing. the best songs by them.

  • This might be an incredibly stupid question, but I have to ask, and I mean no disrespect, it's just pure curiosity... is Toad's drummer a man of...short stature, shall we say? I've been wondering that since I first saw the video for Walk On the Ocean.

  • me acuerdo de mi chibolada tenia 15 años

  • this song was released in 1994

    i was 17 years old

    long life the 90 s !

  • @uglydermis

I was 17 too... good times.

  • WHO DAT go saints

  • Excelente música y chingon video.

  • Great song! Reminds me of my early high school days and those good forgotten times that i had.

  • Best Toad the Wet Sprocket song.

  • Jannradio, I agree with you!

  • Great song!!!!!

  • Oh nooo they sold out! ;D

Just kidding, amazing song and band!

    Love them!

  • brings back the memories..love this band..

  • Ah, who could forget college rock? I love this band.

  • Nothing like cruzing Isla Vista and hearing this song played at almost every keg'r party in town.

  • god I love the harmonies!

  • As a closup of the drummer was shown, my friend walked past my computer and shouts "TIMMAY!!"

I guess I'm going to hell too, because I laughed.

  • Dude, don't even talk like that.

I know you're better than hell.

We all are. (Well, most of us)

  • Lololololol!!!!

    =p

    Dm

  • is sad to see that a great song like this gets only so much views and songs by crapy artists get much much more.i guess most people don't know about real music.:(

  • i completely forgot about this band and their great tunes was listening to gin blossoms another great band and got link to this

  • @florand

I hear you 100+% This is timeless music. 100% REAL.

  • @florand another generation might be saying the same about Toad, and so on. Views, posts, twits, text, it's all bs! like Boy George said in the 80's, "popularity breeds discontent". The proof is in the pudding & Toad's got it. Seeing them tonight at the Moore Theater in Seattle.

  • @pbunyon1 How lucky are you? bet it was a wonderful show. I wish and hope I get a chance to see them in Canada. I love TTWS=)

  • @florand SO TRUE! This band is amazing and the video is genius yet I've never heard of this song! I was looking for a TTWS song I heard on the radio the other night that blew me away and just clicked on this!

  • @florand would explain lady gaga and justin beiber

  • college the memories man!

  • My god, he's got a great voice.

  • very nice song!

  • so fucking cute =D 2:25

  • I saw them in Detroit with Big Head Todd and the Monsters and The Cure was the "Big Act", Glenn was barefoot--both bands were awesome, good entertainment--left early b/c I wasn't a big Robert Smith/Cure fan really and the weed/cigarette smoke was making me ill.

  • This song is so wonderful!

  • More people need to go barefoot

  • There is Glen with the barefeet. He did that in concerts too.

  • Interesting video...could it be a reference to people's desire to 'instant have' everything?

  • Great song...HYSTERICAL video.

  • Que fresco, me proyecto en la playa, corriendo, esperando el sunset, y claro, con una compañia de aquellas ¿no?.... adios.

  • so many memories from this band. amazing. so good.

  • This is an excellent band, this song reminds me my last girlfriend... it is so bad when people sometimes prefer to see only the negative things on this beautifull life... this kind of music is just great

  • yes, i'm agree!!! thanks for share this my friend.

  • That's super frustrating!!!

  • Amen to that!! Stick w/ the positive...amazing music..my family used to drive to the shore to it every summer when i was a kid..

  • Agreed, I kinda feel the same about people needing to rate music. Why does do people need music to be competitive?

  • it's always wrong

  • Awesome song from one of the greatest bands of my generation! Toad lives on!

  • love this band

  • love it so solid

  • yeah! their songs are waesome, i always cover there songs in some gigs we had, one of the most amazing band ever,.toad rocks

  • Those liquid guitar breaks are some of the most beautiful sounds ever recorded.

  • god i forgot how good lookin the lead singer is. very nice, very nice!!
