Not just Wall Street. There are numerous interests from major corporations like GE, to Wall Street, to individuals like Soros and Gore, using the 800 lbs gorilla that is the Federal government to their personal gain. And let's not forget the Federal government itself using its power to its own gain.
are you saying you dont wanna work 5 days a week for some lazy cheeseburger sucking welfare leech that does nothing but wants health care because you make more then they consume? racist! jk
Actually it all started back in the early 1920's and even back ever since the country was started, but you can live with your ignorant mainstream opinion. Hate Bush all you want but you're a fucking dipshit for making that statement. Bush did good and bad things for the country, but he is NO where near the destruction that a liberal agenda can do to the country.
Indeed, a better word to use is progressive if only because that's what they have relabeled themselves. But all in all it's the same thing with new packaging. They realized that people were catching on when on Hannity and Colmes, Sean called Hillary a "liberal democrat" and Alan replied with "enough with the personal attacks!" lol .. the word liberal is now a personal attack according to libs, so voila! The word "progressive" is born.
Got that a bit backwards actually. The Progressives of the early 20th century co-opted the term "liberal" for two reasons: to deny their opponents (what are now known as "classical liberals" ie. Constitutionalists or supporters of "individual liberty") the label and to repackage the Progressive movement that the American people had gotten wise to and turned against with a new name.
If you bean Bush Sr, then I agree. We're on Bush 4.0 now ... different presidents same destructive liberal (big government) policies.
Right now, the liberal democrats are in overdrive and are destroying this country but you're right .. the republicans aren't much better. I've got to remember that. Seems almost as if there isn't a two party system anymore in America.

oh, I didn't know that. I suppose it just became mainstream in America when the term 'liberal' was seen as a bad thing by a majority of Americans.

The funny thing being that a lot of the destructive mistakes Pres. Bush made were progressive (modern day "liberalism" is not liberal) policies.
