  • lol 4:46 thom almost messes up himself

  • jizztastic, only possible adjective....

  • What a great song ! should be put into a vimpire movie!

  • hey guys what does he say? this song is for... who is that??

    please answer fast!!

  • @lgvelani

go on google and type in "we suck young blood lyrics" you'll know every word he says. Thom is pretty abstract with his lyrics, so that we can take it how ever we want to... I like to think that he's a vampire, lol.

  • Favorite radiohead video i've discovered in a while. =)

  • Save for the couple of dumbasses who obviously can't count, this was an amazing performance. Ed's vocals were on point :)

  • how can these people call themselves radiohead fans when they dont even know when to clap?

  • The claps are really loud at the right moment, so I guess most people know.

  • it's a shame the audience isn't very musically inclined

  • whooopa! radiohead! fucking radical!

  • i would be disgraced to be in that audience

  • thom was pissed the crowd couldn't get the clapping down

  • we suckk young cock

  • Epic extreme piano playing at 4:10 ftw!

  • "This next song is for ......" What did he say?

  • @Vieted clear channel

  • ok noobs, follow Ed O'Brien and he will let you know when the song Claps. I love how he giggles at the fact that they're all off.

  • Cheer up, Thom.

  • Man, these guys REALLY have to go on tour again! I hope they´ll come up with an awesome new album soon and visit holland!

  • @Radiohoofden you got your wish :)

  • fuck me that was so coool!!!!!

  • Beat 3 of every other measure.

  • hahahaha dumbshit crowd

  • Thom Yorke is my fucking hero

  • Comment removed

  • they aren't dumbasses, they just aren't musicians

  • @farizzal Doesn't take any musical experience to know the clap is on beat 4, not 2 and 4.

  • @Shadow9392 I think it does

if you have zero musical experience you don't even know how to count

you would be surprised how retarded most people are

  • @farizzal im sure they mustve at least heard the song before. pretty basic

  • ed is the man, bobbing to the claps

  • hypnotically good

  • I always thought of the claps on this song as sort of a Radiohead joke, like they knew when they played this no audience would ever settle on the claps like they do on the album

  • I love how at 4:35 Thom tries to correct the audience's clapping pattern...to no avail unfortunately :/ Dumbass audience.

  • simplemente.. delicioso (:

  • the constant clapping is annoying. if you know the song, clap properly, dammit!

  • 3:49 is the best part of the song, i wish it was the whole song

  • I totally agree, I'm loving it! Thanks hong719, what a treat!

  • ***** LOVE YOU TOMMY

  • what said thom?

  • tasante!!

  • this is amazing they are fantastic live!!!i want to see them so bad...anyone know where i can get the piano tabs for this i cant them.

    (why were people booing?)

  • because he is talking about clear channel...

  • @ManLoveMonk not just clear channel. Also most record labels that pick/fund young kids . (obviously)

  • somebody who can't understand something as simple as clapping doesn't deserve to be at a radiohead concert.

  • ==> +1

  • the clapping soooo bad. it actually pisses me off. i just want to scream "CLAP AT THE RIGHT TIME YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!!" gaah! haha. oh well, this song is amazing!! for the like 10 seconds where it gets fast-paced: eargasm.

  • augh i know. ITS 1, 2, 3, CLAP NOT CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP! ARGGGGH. ruins the haunting mood!

  • :D Radiohead rocks my socks off. I adore them!!

  • favourite song of their's. so good.

  • always sublime, radihead, underated song, and one of their best

  • awesome! please give me more LIVE performance of that masterpiece! anybody know?

  • The clapping is bollocks here :( Sometimes don't they get Ed to "conduct" the audience so they clap in the right places?

  • what does the Clear Channel reference mean????

  • It's hard to take someone's comment seriously when they can't use proper words or grammar. Also, this song is absolutely BRILLIANT. It's so... malignant...

  • For Clear Channel, very funny.

  • thom even shows them when to clap....

  • radiohead always has the most loving applause before a performancce

  • what he said?

  • how cheerful is thom here =O

  • Wow the crowd dont know when to clap haha

  • I love the part just before he says creeping ivy... amazing =D

  • They get it eventually. Good thing the right clap is the strongest, eh? This is my favorite track off Hail to the Thief. Though it's still the Radiohead record I am most unfamiliar with.

  • Man, that album is unreal. Listen to "Where I End and You Begin"

  • MY FAVOURITE

THe synths in the end are so amazing!

  • I know, Radiohead is ahead of the game.

  • The BEST Underrated Album Ever!

    #1 -Hail To The Thief

  • @Luvinhas i sooo agree, was thinking the same when i realized that it´s a kind of forgotten album from them

  • @Luvinhas i actually think Amnesiac is the best, i mean it's right after Kid A and i never really gave it much thought, until i listened to it completely... its great and depressing and genius :]

  • @Luvinhas agreed 100000%

  • @Luvinhas The Soft Bulletin

  • @Luvinhas I'm sorry, how is it underrated? lol

  • @spongey222

It's reviews were mixed between glowing and somewhat glowing.

    Clearly underestimated :p

  • @Hzqi Haha Yeah fair enough :P

  • "I will" has to be also one of my favourites

  • crowd always screws up 15 step claps too

  • yup ... but atleast that's because it is complex ... the crowd are just dumb here and haven't even heard teh fucking track.

  • that piano bit actually scared me :|

  • tis eerie and amazing!

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!

  • wait, he said the song was for who?

  • lol man i love thom.

  • are you kidding? that was fucking mad

  • Check yourself.

  • What are you talking about? Explain.

  • no way man thats the best part. you mean when hes banging on the piano and then goes quiet? i love that part

  • oh man jonny is looking at the camera¡¡¡¡ 0:10

  • fucking creepy and awesome :)

  • noob fans don't know when to clap

  • lol! I wanted to slap them! LOL!

  • @PLdrummer

I just think it's bad rhythm... people who can't clap in time hide at every corner... bastards!

  • @PLdrummer

    americans no doubt....

  • @PLdrummer And apparently can't see Thom directing them when.

  • @PLdrummer

    Radiohead doesn't give a shit.

  • LOL! I work for Clear Channel...and love Radiohead. CC has plenty of good... and bad people working for them. Just like all your local merchants and businesses. This is about greed taking advantage of the young energetic gullible and naive workforce, among other things.

  • what does Thom say in the beginning...this song is for what???...then crowd boo's...then he says..oh no no they're really nice....what did he say???????

  • Clear Channel

  • who´s clean channel?

  • they probably own all the music stations you listen to in your car

  • I think ed's having a laugh at the claps too

  • at first i was like, bah let em clap..then after the 150th instance of off beat clapping I was like WHAT THE FUCK SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • wow whoever was clappin in between the prope claps should have been kicked out of the gig!

  • live crowds sure know how to ruin a classic.

  • I love it how there's the people who just clap to the timing, and then there's the much bigger clap of when it's supposed to be.

  • I love when Thom kills the piano

  • he's defintely my favorite pianist...

  • i dare you to have sex to this song and see how long you last

  • tried it impossible... lol.

  • Try "Climbing Up The Walls"- same thing :)

  • lol gay fans with no timing

  • There fucking idiots don't know when they're supposed to clap. Listen to the goddamn song retards!

  • seriously. the sparse clapping is what makes the song so eerie. the crowd is fucking ruining the song when they clap at the wrong time.

  • Thom, the best pianist I've ever seen.

  • erm, check out matt bellamy ? Butterflies and hurricanes maybe.

  • Not only Matt Bellamy...I suggest checking out Rachmaninoff, Beethoven or any other classical pianist...

Thom is good, but...there's no comparison :)

  • heh, I wasn't exactly serious...rather sarcastic, actually.

not in a mean way of course, it's just funny when he flips out.

  • Nyoruu wins!!!

  • i thinck this song thalks about the boses of industries and tells about are you hungry? they offer us products and suck the young blood whit the money and the thincks they sell us they have all control about what we eat what we wear and what we watch they suck young blood =)

  • Apparently it's about the porn-industry. Someone told me that, and as soon as i read the lyrics i realized as well :)

  • Comment removed

  • And I think thinck is spelled think.

Great song, so dark and mysterious, and those claps...Those damn claps...

  • Thom's freak-out on the piano at 4:10 is the coolest thing ever.

  • Lmfao its hilarious too!

  • you didnt recognize them?

    ahaha thats very odd

  • Shit i thought this was a cover verson.

I didn't recognize Jonny or Ed when they walked on.

    But Thom is unmistakable.

  • raunchys mom sucks young radioheads dick...

  • I love Radiohead, but I lol'ed

  • Holy !@#$, this is unbelievable... so disturbingly beautiful...

  • This song scares the bajeezus out of me. Terrifying. Gorgeous, but terrifying.

"Hail to the Thief" is darker then hell.

  • Alert alert! Johnny Thunders impersonation at 1:40!

Awesome! He was showing off for SOMEONE in the front left.

  • haha a little hyper there at 4:10

    xD

  • Noobs... clapping on every beat rather than where they're supposed to @_@

  • Yeah, they get better after a while thoo :D

  • yea, lol

  • I recently went to a concert in Manchester. I was disappointed that they didn't play this.

  • This vid made me sOOoOoOo wet LOL y

  • it makes me so sad that the claps were fucked up here. the anticipation for the next clap on the recorded version is palpable.

it just feels like a crowd lurching forward, stepping in time. so beautiful!

  • Anybody else who would like to hear a Tom Waits cover of this song?

  • Hell yes, with radiohead

  • That'd be kinda cool, methinks. :)

  • I wish I could attend a concert with all other true Radiohead fanatics that know how to clap on beat, be quiet when you should be quiet and know all the words but don't have to sing when it shouldn't be sung...... Now THAT would be fucking epic.

  • The tempo change is sooooo epic, get shivers every time

  • ed's all theatrical with it

  • Best song ever written that features clapping.

  • 15 Steps =(

  • When/What is this from?

  • a fkn masterpiece

  • much agreeed.

  • i like how the people who dont really know the song are clapping every measure.

  • The guy just infront of the camera really didn't grasp that he was doing it wrong.

  • ummm im sorry but does the song have any connection at all wit Clear Channel...i dont get the allusion to Clear Channel...

would appreciate it if anyone could answer it?

    thx!

  • I was wondering the same..Here in Italy there's an association called "Clear Channel" wich organise concerts..is the only thing that came to my mind for now..

  • iam going have to find out, iam too curious now.

  • I am gonna answer my own question here.

Through a bit of coincidental research, I found out that Radiohead was at the time, dunno if they still are, but were boycotting performing at Clear Channel set up venues, a big company that sets concerts for artists at big venues. Hence Radiohead had been playing at smaller venues, during the Hail to the Thief tour.

  • nice ty

  • Could someone transcript what thom's saying at the beggining of the vid? Sorry i'm not english, but i love radiohead and this song anyhow

  • Are you hungry?

    Are you sick?

Are you begging for a break?

    Are you sweet?

    Are you fresh?

Are you strung up by the wrists?

  • No this are the lyrics..I wanna know what he said before star singing..The "this song is for??" part..

  • Thank you very much, this next song is for uh clear channel thank you very much, non onono they are really good really nice, no really, no really

  • Thank you! The part that i was missing was "Clear channel" and actually i still don't know what does it mean..but, whatever..i love this song anyway, and sorry for my mistakes

  • is this talking about how the government sends young people to war...hence society (we) are benefiting from sucking the blood of young when they go to defend us

  • No, it's pretty clear that this is about large record labels and Hollywood recruiting young, talentless people who are "sweet" and "fresh" and down on their luck, only to screw them over, sucking their blood"

  • it's not ''pretty clear'' about anything. nothing suggests its about record labels any more than wall street banks.

  • so its about vampires. period

  • Vampires? It's about corp. america and worldwide greed sucking the "young blood," our young naive up and comers. Incidentally I work for Clear Channel. This song reminds me of Have a Cigar by Floyd. Oh, by the way, which ones Pink?

  • youve been irony- roll'd

  • they want the young blood, they like to suck the young blood to keep them going xD i remember thom saying that aha

  • the crowd loved when he freeked out.

    woooha
