There may be Rod shaped UFOs for all we know, But one thing is for sure, if a bug passes in front of any video or film camera it *will* look exactly like a rod as it may be caught twice per frame, and that is what most (not all) rod reports look like. This is easy to test at home. I would be reluctant to believe a report of a rod that appeared *only* on video and not also to the naked eye, especially if the are of the scene is near a pond, forest or other bug harboring areas.
