I watched the whole thing again now, probably the third time since it was posted. I find it very motivational and I strive to become a optimistic forward person like you!
Day9! This is the first time I watched this epic video and I found it hugely inspirational for my to become a better person and to continue to work hard setting up my own business.
Day9 every time I am asked by an adult or a teacher who mt hero or role model is. You know who I say, you. I say Sean Plott is my role model because he gives his heart his mind and his soul into his passion. You are an incredible person. "aint nothin to it. Day[J] made me do it".
Thank you. I've been struggling with things of my own as everyone and failing because of not doing what needs to be done even though I know it. Watching you, listening to you telling your story moved me so much, regardless if I knew what to do or not now I just feel more full of will and energy to step it up.
Thank you, thank you so much Day, for being with us all these years.
This was a great vid. I don't play much Starcraft but i'm trying to be competitive in others games, and this video served as real inspiration for me. Thank you, Day[9].
Awesome!! I am a first time watcher and i randomly clicked on episode 100. I watched the entire thing and understood everything you were talking about. My brother watches your cast all the time and I figured I would check it from a link in Husky's YTC shoutcasting WhiteRa vs TLO. I guess the both of you were supposed to do that Shoutcast together. BUT anyways, I will get to the point. Excellent EP, I am glad the first EP of Day[9] Daily was this one. THX Day[9] I will be clicking to subscribe!!!
Day9's ability to articulate his story of Starcraft is just so beautifully scripted and so inspiring. I just watched this video as as he explained his Starcraft Journey, I was thinking to myself, "damn, this is not just a game, but it's more than that, it's a sport, it's something worth working hard at.". This is my request, for filmmakers or people who know filmmakers, PLEASE CONTACT SEAN to get this into a movie because it's just so inspiring watching him describe his story.
I wish i could be like you, i am in bronze and im trying to get better but i feel that i am almost the opposite of you. Im not close with my brother and my parents dont understand games but all i hope to accomplish in life is to end up being as mentaly strong as you are.
@avgilbeyzz i was in bronze for three seasons but watching husky and this guy got me up to gold. so just keep on trying, my family takes Starcraft as a joke and so do all my friends but I just kept playing and i got better.
4th time watching, i honestly cried, i laughed, i smiled every time. thank you sean you are a true inspiring figure and you have touched all of our hearts.
Day9, can you imagine that, together, people across the world have spent past 550 years of time listening to your story? I hope you know how interesting you are. You're such an inspiration, reminding me of my own childhood. My brother and I used to wake up and play Age of Mythology, the games were days long. Really good times. I kinda miss it, but I'm happy for my childhood. Thank you for sharing your story with us. :)
"...and evolution is still a theory"... well it still is, but don't underestimate the power of 'theory'. People tend to mis-use the word and say things like "Oh, it's ONLY a theory". Theories are very powerful thing and a theory is something that's generally held (by experts) to be TRUE. For instance "the theory of intelligent design" is a misnomer as it's not actually a theory at all, since it's not generally held to be true as there is zero evidence in support of it.

He spent 110 useless, f***ing minutes blabbing about some nerdy game minutes, a waste of time. Who watch the whole entire video? Your answer is nerds with no lives.
@Rukkis38 You Are a Fucking Dick, Sean Is A Idol To Alot Of People And You Say this Shit, You Can Go Fuck A God damn Tree Alright, This Man Is Like Jesus Of Starcraft,JESUS OF STARCRAFT, Go Say Shit Like This To your Little Friends I DONT GIVE A FUCK, BUT WHEN YOU DOWN US AND SEAN,THERE WILL BE A FUCKING PROBLEM SIR!
@Rukkis38 Well you came to the video , so you we're watching it for a while and you researched something about gaming. Now I dunno what is tour problem , but Day9, Sean, is the mentor of Starcraft. And 110 useless minutes ? not so useless if I learned something.
@Rukkis38 lol you say this when on your channel all your recent videos are about gaming. Your such a hipocrite and just ashamed of ur nerdness(dont know if thats a real word haha) so u just bash on others for being nerds. Its to bad u couldn't appreciate the awsomeness of this video and its creator, Day motha fuckin [9].
I just want to thank you Day9 for helping me with everything and making me feel like im not the only one who loves this game and has dedication to it.
amazing. I have recently been a bit bummed though at how I sometimes (as I am still very much a noobie) get facerolled from time to time but this video has inspired me. I have since bought manuals, I have since watched daily after daily as I just love SC with such passion. The idea of having your friends by you and your family its so inspiring. God I even started tearing up when you talking about the 2005 tourny when you beat your brother xD
I have just recently started playing Starcraft 2 (probably about a month or 2 ago) after ceaseless nagging at me to play this game from my dear friend Dallas. I always put it off as I would go from game to game and just do my own thing but eventually I got the motivation (and computer capable of running SC2 lol) and played the free starter edition. This game has changed my life. The idea that a game can be all about you and you community and how you win by you and no one else makes this game so
HOLY ! ALOT OF STUFF ! BUT THATS TRUE, WITH OLD PCS CAN DO ALOT, AND WHENN YOU KNOW THE INTERNET PEOPLE ON REAL LIFE THEY ARE TOO MUCH YOUNGER THAN YOU IMAGINE

watched the whole video, downloaded brood war, got my next 5 years sorted out:) and you think just watching the whole video means you have no life O.o
I've been very sick for the past couple days. I've been unable to eat solids and I'm on a lot of medication. My doctor told me that the only thing that will help is my pills and sleep so I haven't really been allowed out of my room. As much as things suck right now, I have watched this daily countless times over my bedridden days and I never get tired of hearing your amazing story. I find myself falling asleep very easily to your voice (no homo) and I expect to watch this video till I recover
This is definitely one of the most inspiring things I've watched. I really like Starcraft and Starcraft 2 but my main focus in life is music. And with the music scene "failing" it seems now and nobody supportive of the idea because it's not a very "stable" job or career it's very hard to not get discouraged. But it's so awesome to see people like this who came out of nothing to doing what they love. Definitely has inspired me, majorly.
@Lavidrocks i agree, but to be fair, EVERYONES challenge is their own self. That's what everyone has to conquer. The only difference is, like you said, what learning tools are used.
his story is like my life.. single mom and brother and me in a small town playing sc1 no broodwar and its like wow. .brought a tear to my 23 year old gamers eyes... day9 i salute u
Day 9 I'm a new sc2 player and this has really been influential to me as a person. Your story is inspirational and great. You will become the esports ambassador! Best of luck and thanks for all your hard work!
I heard about this video being so good, but I never expected this. This words, are lifechanging... Just, I have nothing to add, it is awsome... simply awsome. Thank you Day9 for your words of wisdom!
Came here from commandercast(.)com article "Line in the Sand 07" which linked to starcitygames(.)com article "To my someday daughter" which linked to you. Never played starcraft and I'm more into FPS but this is about the most personal and unhindered emotional outpouring of past experiences I've ever heard. Give your mom and your brother a hug for me. As an only child from a single parent I too was extremely lucky to have a supportive family. Thumbs up man. Sorry to hear about bunny. =p
so at 7:00 i posted on Facebook "(link) Hey Listen to this guy talk about Starcraft .. for an HOUR AND 50 MINS! LULZ".. at 15:00 i deleted my post o.O I will never judge a Starcraft nerd ever again. Much Respect. Brought back memories of my own (in general, not Starcraft)
@Bumsalad your wrong, many players like the members of EG get a salery for playing the gane full time, so do many othet players. also turnament winnings, and sponsors so you can pay the bills as a progamer.
OMG man i love you so much i got introduced to you recently and omg this story amazing its awesome you have and had such a amazingly supportive family omg man im just still balling 30 mins after viewing you are and inspiration to us all :)
This video got me into watching day9 and pushed me to start laddering on SC2 and I've watched day9 5 - 6 times a week since watching this about a year and a half ago.
How similar i went and played team games a lot massing mutas SC2 (btw) 4v4 mostly. then i went and started to try getting into 1v1 massing mutas didnt work so i began baneling busting worked great for a while then i actually took part in a tournament the excitement of being in one was amazing i won against my first 2 opponents easily and then got demolished. (Latched on to team games had gimicks, won a couple of tournament games then got demolished but took part in more because of excitement).
Two years ago he posted this video, why hasnt anyone started Talking about making a movie about seans life? I would most definetly pay to make a movie about him if i was a millinaire.. :)
The way this glorious man tells this story just makes me see everything infront of me in the format of .jpgs, this video should be seen by everyone even if they dont play video games or w/e its just so epic.
Respect Day[9]. I never quite knew how passionate about SC you were before watching this video. Pretty incredible story from what seems to be an incredible person. Keep up the daily's man and I'll help get more people included the SC circle of love :D Cheers!
@GoldenSilence333 Sure thing, however most people if they played Starcraft could be good and if you were to invest that much time in training to be a doctor you would earn 10 times more.
@Bumsalad Not necessarily. Have you seen the winnings of some players? $200,000 USD if I remember correctly was from one player -- you can't really top that as a doctor. Of course I'd rather invest my time on being a doctor and helping people than a professional gamer for the less-essential entertainment, but even so, being a gamer (even semi-pro) beforehand (such as during University) can be very... fulfilling, I guess.
After watching this video in its entirety, I now have more respect for Day[9] than any athlete, musician, actor, or entertainer. His love for the Starcraft community is so great and he is such a class act. The Starcraft community would be a very different place without Day[9] and Tasteless. Keep up the good work Sean!
wish my bro was nice to me.

What I like about this guy is that he seems to be always putting out positive thoughts and advice. Need more people like that.

@Bumsalad your wrong, many players like the members of EG get a salery for playing the gane full time, so do many othet players. also turnament winnings, and sponsors so you can pay the bills as a progamer.

Games are fun, but they aren't going to pay the bills. Perhaps these videos will though...
Bumsalad 1 month ago
@Bumsalad They will if you're good.
GoldenSilence333 1 month ago
@GoldenSilence333 Sure thing, however most people if they played Starcraft could be good and if you were to invest that much time in training to be a doctor you would earn 10 times more.
Bumsalad 1 month ago
