I adopted three ex-polo horses, ages 30, 22 and 15 on December 20, 2010. In the that short time, I have had to train the 15 year old to understand that hands don't always hurt, and now have her trust so that I can touch her face and halter her. But it is the patience part that is the most important. I have not rode them either, had a few folks that have, and have proven to be quite strong in most levels of training. Thanks for the patience part, it is so very true.
I am retraining an ex-racehorse at the moment. he's improved SO much since i started riding him, which was only about a month ago. thanks for the advice!
I love ex racehorses. TBs are the best breed in the world IMO. I love them!

Need to rename this--very misleading. Good info, but absolutely no "how to" is included.
