  • ok i found it :).btw i ove these 2 together!!!

  • snif...

  • it always makes me have tears in my eyes when i see this part of this movie

  • Why are people so intent on politics? Just watch and enjoy...jeez.

Anywho...this scene has just brought me to tears...again.

  • They should really make a remake.. Exactly how it is. This part always made me happy. :)

  • i always teared up here :(

  • Only a fairy-tale, I suppose.. Poor Anastasia was only seventeen years old.

  • "hear this song and remember.. soon you'll be home with me, once upon a december" these are the most beautiful lyrics of the song and they're not in the actual one in the soundtrack.

  • @billsdestiny yes, it is. It's in the Prologue (#11 on the soundtrack) about 2 minutes in.

  • Now that I think of it.. This movie should have a remake

  • @xlordsolrac2 NO!

  • @punketa32 Why not? I know this movie is literally perfect, but... Wouldn't you like to see it again in a "better" version?? (And not at the 5$ Movie corner in Walmart? < D: That's just sad to be honest)

  • @xlordsolrac2 like u said its perfect just the way it is... why the need to remake it?

  • the grandmother looks scarily like me

  • oh im such a softie! literally sat here crying, without even the rest of the film biulding up to it lol :P

  • Stupid ninjas cutting onions behind me *sniff*

  • @MalkavianBlueHorse an onion is a vegetable

  • Comment removed

  • @MalkavianBlueHorse your talking about fruit ninja right? they chop fruits not vegetables

  • @cartoonkingforeever no I'm not. Do I really need to explain the joke to you?

  • @MalkavianBlueHorse yes please

  • I WANT THE WHOLE OUTFIT!!!!!!!

    DRESS, GLOVES, DIAMOND ACCESSORIES, EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

  • This part always makes me cry

  • I'm gonna cry.., such a butiful scene

  • it makes me miss my grandmother :(

i lost her when i was 7 years old....

  • lol dimitri looks like jack the ripper in this scene

  • Makes me wanna call my grandma... <3 <3 <3 (Can't is 1 am)

  • I love dimitri <3

  • Wow, this made me tear up. Maybe because of the contrast to reality.

I could understand why the people overthrew the monarchy but to murder them so callously in cold blood? Including the children who were innocent? /sigh.

  • @ThinlyCut90 Yeah, it's really brutal... Especially since it was not a qick death at all for the princesses.

  • @rgur90x That makes it even worse. They did nothing as they were innocent children! How could they do that?

  • @ThinlyCut90 Well, that's how many humans are... People often chose the simpler way of using violence to resolve things, rather than attempt to do it peacefully.

  • @rgur90x It's a sad reality.

  • @ThinlyCut90 The murder of the Romanovs really had nothing to do with how unpopular the family was-it was about Lenin's desire for power. There was a strain of through in the country that argued for the royal family to be reinstated since the tsar had stepped down, but Lenin wanted to eradicate all chance of it.

  • @dkupke That's even more horrible. They were murdered on the off chance that they might want to return to power?

Human's lust for power is absolutely disgusting.

  • @hello12mary NO SHE WASN'T THE UNITED STATES RIGGED THE DNA PROOF,

  • Aww...:')

  • I was never into the whole princess thing when I was little. However, I wanted to be Anastasia. (This Anastasia at least) She was awesome and didn't take shit from anyone!

  • to bad the real anastasia was killed in Russia

  • This is such a beautiful movie. I love it.

  • best cartoon forever!

  • I'm crying :')

  • They don't make music like this anymore :(

  • Love it

  • I've never seen this movie but this scene made me cry :')

  • @iSmiliexD How have you never seen it? Seriously, it is one of the best cartoon films ever created :)

  • That beautifully overhwelmed emotion on Marie's face upon finding her granddaughter after ten long years...T-T

  • I remember this movie! It had such a great storyline :).

  • I just love this song!!! :)

  • Did you know that Anastasia is a true story

  • @17justinbiebersgirl naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh?????????

  • @17justinbiebersgirl except she wasn't the real anastasia

  • they do say scents trigger the most memories so it was cool how they used that. Also when I was a little girl I wanted that blue dress soooo badly--still do actually.

  • This is the most touchin scene in the movie I love this part 2 can I say disney

  • This is by far one of the most touching scenes in the film, when they both sing their secret song and look into each others eyes. It has being too long since I watched this film.

  • Dont cry man, dont crye... no to late im gonna cry

  • Ima bout to cry.........used to luv this!!! :')

  • This was always one of my favorite scenes! I loved this movie so much when I was a kid, and I still do! =]

  • who els has just realized this is the song that you randomly humm but couldn't remember were you heard it????

  • I always thought this movie looked TOO real! LOL

  • Gosh,i loved this movie when i was a little kid....(i`m 15 and i still do)

  • Man I don't know but the animation done for the Grandmother seems so real...

  • @mm1487 YES!

  • None of the family lived. They were told that they were going to get a picture taken and then were all shot to death. Sadly the girls had dimands sewn into their corsets. It made them bullet proof so they were killed by getting shot through the head

  • WTH is everyone talking about? If you actually read the history of the Romanov family, you would know that Anastasia and her sister escaped Russia during the overthrow, having to live in Italy with her other sister (Queen of Italy) and then France. She died at the age of 67 just 5 years after her husband.

  • @tiffjan Where are you getting this information from?

  • @tiffjan Where did you get that information?

According to Wiki, no one survived in the Fomanov.

  • @tiffjan Neither of them survived, The Bolsheviks killed each one of the Romanovs and their remains are buried and they were found and buried in 1998. Two years later they found two of the last children, whether they had a burial for them I am unsure of.

  • @tiffjan no one in Nicholas II family lived it was all just a story. Anastasia , her sisters brother and parents were all killed.

  • @TexasCenaGurl The bodies of Anastasia and Alexei have not been found! Neither has the Tsar, they conducted DNA tests on the bones of which they thought were the Tsar's and found that they were his brother Michael! And there were Romanovs who survived, still related to Nicholas II but not his immediate family. His mother survived and truly did live the rest of her life in Paris.

  • @0307scott Actually, Alexei has been found and identified by dna and there was one of the girls missing and she was found along side Alexei and was proven by dna to be the last of the sisters, all the children were killed. They don't even know if Anastasia was the one found next to Alexei or if it was one of the others but they do know that all the children died.

  • Rasputin, bartok, and 3+ of those bug things disliked this!

  • if only this could have happened!

  • Damnit ppl the romanovs were not good fairytale ppl i don't agree with what the soviets did to them but there was a reason why they did it

  • @commando1124 There were ample good reasons for the revolution and their overthrow, but their murder was totally unnecessary. Perhaps putting the former tsar himself on trial for crimes against the people would have been appropriate, but killing his entire family in such brutal fashion was completely uncalled for.

  • @dkupke The murder itself was a political gambit Lenin orchestrated. They held the tsar's family in custody for a long time after the revolution, but they finally decided to end all ties to the old order.

In order to keep the children from crying, the gunmen said they were taking a family portrait...

From what I know, the entire family is canonized saints by the Russian Orthodox Church

  • @ZephyrFiction Exactly, it was purely a political move and had no real legal grounding whatsoever. You can't help but wonder what might have happened if the Tzar had managed to hold on to the government a little longer-Russia might have been a constitutional monarchy to this day.

  • @dkupke Well, so was the tsarist killing of entire families of peasants, the tsarist killing of unarmed demonstrators, the hundreds of years of brutal tsarist rule.... so I'd say that evens things out a bit. Forgive me if I've little compassion for the aristocracy.

  • @FungalSheep I repeat: it would have been perfectly appropriate to retain the former Tsar and put him on trial for the crimes committted during the reign of the Romanov's. But murdering his whole family, including the children who were not even old enough to have had any say in such matters had nothing to do with justice-it was just a pure power grab by Lenin and his associates.

  • @dkupke The Bolsheviks had planned to bring them to trial, but the Civil War changed the circumstances. The Whites were advancing on Yekaterinburg and threatening to capture the family- this would have rallied the Whites, legitimized them in the eyes of foreign imperialist forces, and drawn the war on. The lives of hundreds or thousands of Russians who would have died in an even-more-prolonged war is worth more than a few royals.

  • @FungalSheep if you think like that then i gladly hope for the monarchies to return, there is no difference in the thought processes between a monarchy and a so called democracy, the difference is that the masses of a so called democracy or communist government think they are in control of how things are run in their country but they wrong, so i say stop with the charade and bring back the royals

  • @FungalSheep bloody Sunday was caused by the guards who fired upon them, the tsar had almost nothing to do with it, he was away at the time so blame the guards for doing such a horrible crime and you think the soviets did better? are kidding me? Stalin was an evil murderer and the soviets almost started a nuclear holocaust which would have meant the end of the world, dude the soviets where worst than even Ivan the terrible, you sir are a cold idiot

  • The Romanov's are far more popular in Russia now than they ever were during their reign. After the fall of the USSR, they became an important piece of Russian history and a popular symbol of Russian nationality.

  • im crying now because of the song and the real story. well no they're singing this in heaven

  • im crying right now. about the song and the real story. in the end in heaven their singing this to each other :'(

  • Thumbs up if you thought this movie was like Tangled minus the long haired princess with the frying pan. The story was rather similar except Rapunzel was abducted while Anya had amensia and she was sent to an orphange and both of her parents died and she has a grandmother. Meg Ryan was really good in this.

  • @Disney65Fan And, Rapunzel looks like Anya once her hair is cut- am I the only one who notices that?

  • @Disney65Fan except that Anastasia is a lot better overall than Tangled.

  • @Disney65Fan

OMG I FORGOT I THOUGHT THAT AFTER TANGLED! Thanks for reminding me! :'D

  • @Disney65Fan remember that this was out for years before tangled so it was be the other way around. and tangled was good but nowere near as amazing as Anastaisa

  • If only what happened in this movie was what had happened in reality.

  • @anthonyabbott89 I agree with you and through this movie, this teaches us about hope. Hope that the real Anastasia was still alive, hope that things would get better and hope for a brighter future. However, things happen for a reason and this story shows how anything can be overcome and how dreams can come true, like Anastasia finding home, love and family and Marie would see her beloved granddaughter again. It's a matter of ambition, persistency and as I said before.....hope.

  • @taurusgirl65 nice :)

  • love this film <3 i've always wanted a dress like that one

  • beautiful sad....

  • Dammit this scene makes me cry every freaking time!

  • i love dis movie so romantic and love and true...lol...:)

  • This is NOT DISNEY!

  • by far my favourite disney princess movie.

  • @IItsDestiiny disney didnt make it

  • Oh! I get chills when she remembers about the carpet. And her grandma understands that she really is Anastasia. One of the best movies ever!

  • I cry every time. Even though I know the ending, I'm always on pins and needles screaming at the tv "No! But she is Anastasia!"

  • Man, i love Anastasia's dress XD

  • I am actually crying! This is so sad and happy at the same time!

  • @mckena135 i am crying to...

  • Great film, so good it could have been old Disney (which is why most people think it was a Disney film)

  • Such a beautiful scene :) Too bad in real life Anastasia was killed with her family. How sad :(

  • @CyperMeowth

there is a high chance she survived and her existence was covered up or hidden

    because of USSR's Interests

  • @jaguar4u2012 Really? I've always believed that Anastasia somehow survived. I kinda think Anna Anderson was Anastasia because of how she knew things that only the real Anastasia knew. However there is a chance that the real Anastasia survived and just never remembered who she was. Besides if Anna wasn't Anastasia she didn't lie she just thought she was Anastasia and it was just a mistake.

  • @AzulaLover1

    she could be actually

or perhaps the real Anastasia and her little brother (he apears in her dream in this movie)

just run away and never revealed them selves

    two bodies are missing!

and only in 1998 russian made up some crap that they found it and what ever

  • @jaguar4u2012 Actually I don't think her brother Alexei would've survived. Since he has a condition that when he even gets a slight injury he'd bleed to death, so after being shot by hundreds of bullets would garrentee his death. Her sister Maria was rumored to have survived too but what I think is both the princesses were alive and they tried to save their brother, the next heir. However he died and they noticed they were gone and shot them. Maria died but Anastasia just got hit in head amnsia

  • @AzulaLover1

how I wish we could know for sure some how

  • @jaguar4u2012 Guys, you do realize that their remains were confirmed in March 2009? No one survived, sorry.

  • @Poly2916

you didnt read our previous posts

there is a huge chance those DNA tests and their remain is a SCAM made by USSR

  • @jaguar4u2012 Except that the USSR had falled for many, many years by the time they found Alexei and his sister.

  • @walover165

    USSR collapsed in 1994

the bodies were found (as they claimed they did) in 1991

    please get your info right

  • @Poly2916 It's such a sad thing, really. No matter what happened, Russia got screwed and a whole bunch of children died because of stupidity from both sides.

  • @AzulaLover1

by the way, why you love Azula, she is a sick cunning psychopat

  • @jaguar4u2012 Well that's completely unrelated to Anastasia but okay. I don't think she's evil I think she's just confused. She thought her mother hated her when the whole time she's loved her, while she thought her father adored her but he didn't even like her. She's only a 14 year old girl she can't be that evil, blame the way she was raised. Besides if Zuko can become good than why can't she? Azula didn't deserve what she got, she deserves to be a good guy.

  • @AzulaLover1

you can clearly see the difrence between Zuko and Azulo

Zuko was allways a kind and Gentle boy, Azula though he was weak loser, after his mothers death he lsot himself because og his father

Azula Hurted Animals, she Manipulated her friends, she Wanted to kill her brother and all most did it several times, she betrays people,

she is realy arrogant and Cruel, she wanted to burn people, all most killed Katara and Aang

Believe me that Bitch got way less than she deserves

  • @jaguar4u2012 At least he had love that's a luxoury that she didn't have. Blame the parents not the child. She was jealous of Zuko because even though he was weak he still had love. She had to be cruel to please her father who was the only one in her family she thought loved her and if he wasn't pleased he wouldn't pay her attention and she'd be all alone. To him she was just a little wind up doll who had to look beautiful and do tricks perfectly whenever he wanted and was tosed aside when done.

  • @AzulaLover1

take may for example her quote "I got everything I wanted, as long as I did what I've been told"

it doesnt stops her from Rebeling against the Tyrant and resqueing Zuko

Azula was nasty from the very beginning, she was spoiled and hailed

while Zuko was the one who been turtured and hated outcast loser

Zuko had an Excuse for being an Asshole

    but Azulo dont

she is Just too Obssesed with power and she hated her mother

yes her father is to blame

    but she had free will

  • @jaguar4u2012 Well it's clear this is pointless since you can't see what that poor girl has gone through. Besides we shouldn't be in this conversation in the first place. This video is about Anastasia not Azula or Zuko or anything avatar related. We're suppose to stay on topic with this video.

  • @AzulaLover1

    ><

  • @AzulaLover1 Why r u talking about avatar when this is about the Russian princess?? No sense is here

  • @WickedVocal193 I only did because this user asked me why I loved Azula. I just wanted to state why and get back on topic about Anastasia.

  • @attonator lol

  • Actually, it's up. Anastasia [1997] scene

  • This is a good scene, but my favorite part is where the Empress Marie finally realizes who Dmitri is. "You *were* the servant boy...the one who got us out." On those last three words, the tone in Anglela Lansbury's voice is remarkable--almost like the whole thing was for real. Give it a listen.

  • am i the only one crying on this scene.

  • It is so sad that there were people who really did try to con the Grandma!

  • ive never seen this movie idk why i never saw this

  • this is the most beautiful she looks the whole movie:)

  • this movie... I miss it so much and the voices are simply wonderful. It makes me cry...

  • When I watched this as a child, it didn't mean as much to me then as it does now. I watched the whole film for the first time in years recently and cried so hard watching this scene!

  • Anastasia is so beautiful <3

  • 'Here this song and remember soon you'll be home with me once upon a December ' I never want that bit to end HELL I never want the movie to end

  • Hm... I still got extreme chills watching this scene.

  • Having read up on the history, there may be some credence to the theory that one of the Romanov's may have escaped. Its rather ironic that in post-Soviet Russia, the royal family has become far more popular and longed for than they ever where while the ruled.

  • Angela Lansbury is such a great actress! just her playing with her voice makes me cry whenever isee that scene

  • I wish this actually happened..it makes me cry how sad the real story is :'(

  • @XkoolaidXx i think ment to show what happened if anastasia survived in short alternate of what happens

  • Rasputin disliked this!

  • @JJHdisney Rasputin made 4 acounts and dislike this

  • When I was a kid, they brought me that music box and necklace alogn with it from the cruise. I still have them <3

  • @thefashionister True, but other countries wanted the Romanovs in, Britain and France included, the King of Britain at the time George V was even related to him, so maybe they would've interviened in the Russian Civil war a bit more and establish Tsarina Anastasia

  • @YesIamEccentric George V, who was the cousin of both Nicholas and Alexandra, told his government, to withdraw the offer for asylum to the Romanovs, in spite of the British Government wanting to protect them. If he hadn't, they'd have survived the Revolution, because they'd have been evacuated before the Bolshevik coup. Nevertheless four MI6 agents tried to effect a rescue, but failed. Britain, the US, Japan, the Czechs, Australia, etc. were all in the Russian Civil War against the Bolsheviks

  • dimitri where the f are u goin -___-

  • this is true story guys!!! my grandmom lived at that time in russia..she was 7...revolutioners bolsevics slauter anyone who tried to stop them and not only.....them..anyone and everything was against their revolution. They killed the whole royal family the tsars... :(

  • Whats funny is that Angela Lansbury does the voice of the grandma and the character actually looks like her!!

  • my bestfriends name is Anastasia, she was adopted from Russia

  • Imagine if this actually happened... I wonder if the Romanovs would be in power in Russia today

  • I was given the role of Anastasia in another version of this scene. Very similar, but more true to the "original" story... I guess I'll be looking at this for guidance haha :) This was and always will be my favorite non-Disney kids film. It's just behind #1, Lion King in all-time favorites. XD So excited for this.

  • I'm a grown man now and this gives me more chills than it ever before.

  • @spiritfired I get the same way when I watch or hear certain stuff from my childhood. I know exactly how you feel. Don't you just miss the 90's?

  • @DigiDestined558 Indeed. And "The Swan Princess"? Oh my god I even saw their making. No one does cartoon frames by frames by hand-drawing and colouring anymore. And the singing! I really as a boy thought Odette was beautiful, not in any perverted way! And Anastasia too! LOVED the things in the 90's! Although I'm too young to understand sometimes back then, I still blame myself and regret for not appreciating these more. (English's not my 1st language) The mansion scene gave me MAJOR chills dude!

  • beautiful moment, always makes me tear up :'( and i cant help thinking that dimitri looks like the Phantom of the Opera at the end

  • I love this movie..

    I wish I could hum/sing like Anastasia D:

    Thanks for the upload!

  • aww such a touching scene...i had to rewatch to remember awwww

  • "peppermint?"

  • it gave me chills :')))))
