That argument about lightning and shark attack is little flawed. I am sitting in my garden typing this.. i can get hit by lightning right now.. however i can not be attacked by a shark. To be attacked by shark you have to be in the waters where sharks live.. so question is, if you are swimming of the coast of California, while you are in the water.. what is more likely a shark attack or a lightning strike???

You need to think about it from the executives perspective, unfortunately that is what attracts people. Yet, if you actually WATCH the episodes of shark week themselves, they are extremely informative and paint Sharks in a more accurate light. I think they use the teasers to get people to watch, and use the episodes to educate. It makes sense. Most Americans wouldn't watch it if they previewed it as what it actually is, which is very sad.
