Wow. I wanted to find a version of Paint it Black that I heard on the radio and all the Rolling Stone videos I found didn't sound much like it. Then I thought that the singer kind of sounded like the guy from Tea Party, so I searched to see if they had a version. Sure enough they do. Crazy thing is it's not the one I was looking for, but it's better!
i was front row at summer in the park in north bay ontario 2011! got an extra wristband signed by the band and gave Jeff martin a joint of OG KUSH! i hope he enjoyed it!
This was the song that got me turned on to the Tea Party... whats funny is the first time I heard it, I hated it. After listening to the rest of their music I now appreciate it
Better than the original. I think this cover was originally done for a soundtrack but the GOB version was chosen instead. Hard to believe since this version is sooo damn good.
I love The Tea Party, and they do a great cover of this song, of course I love the original a bit more but this is as good as the original in my opinion.
i think this version is different and original not a bad remake....it still boggles the shit out of me how much jeff martin looks like jim morrison though
@drakenette13 I think someone should investigate into the morrison files, for it was a closed casket funeral. He was in so much trouble with the law, and , in practicality, moving to Canada and keeping his initials JM would make for a legitimate case. Voices don't lie.
um but jeff martin is way younger looking than jim jim would be at least in his sixties no way plastic surgery would help that unless of course jeff was an illegitimate child.... though highly unlikely lol
you know what? I love Tae Party. Disregard what I said. Fuck the doors, and Jim Morrison. This is now. Dead is dead. Thank you to my fucked up family who wrote me off: hope my blood relatives rot in hell.
you know crazy shit has happened before...though i stand by the thought of jim being dead i do think it is possible jeff could be an illegitimate child, jim could have travelled to canada and had a baby no one knew of, then again maybe he was just reincarnated, hence the whole look alike theory..its like george strombolopoulos (from the hour, some know him from much music)....him and my brother look like twins...creepy shit if you ask me....
It took listening to a couple of other covers of this song to realize just how good this version is. I would love to have seen Tea Party live, I seen Jeff Martin solo acoustic that was pretty cool.
Well that depends on what your listening for, some would say its on par with the rolling stones version but not better because of the difference in style. but I would have to agree with you this version is amazing.
Cant compare it to the Rolling stones version but nice try!

More interesting than the original, but too much electronic saturation.
Why did Jeff and co give up the sitars and violin bows for synthesizers? What a waste.
