@Zardozthedestroyer Augustus never done so, as a matter of fact he always refuted all claims of deification towards him which were many since he was loved by the people, senate and the army. Caligula on the other hand was terrible in all fronts, from next to zero military experience, very weak administrator and going always outta his way to humiliate and scorn the senate. Thinking again I can't remember of any decent emperor making claims of himself being a god.
