  • i live in atherton, north queensland, australia and in one hour we got 125 mm of rain, the creek behind us went from 0.6 metres to 18 metres because of heavy rainfall in the upper catchments as well

  • i love thaT sound

  • I live in Australia, the heaviest rain I've ever seen was last year when we got 497mm (19.5 inches) in only 4 hours, and ended up with a 24 hour rainfall total of 698mm (27.5 inches). One guy I know had only just moved here from the UK and was in awe at the amount of rain. He was still used to the English drizzle :))

  • Appreciate all the comments and stories so far :) Just to point out that I live in the south-east of England and although rain is usual, this kind of 'heavy' rain is not typical - however, I know it's not the HEAVIEST rain, only the heaviest I'VE ever seen ;)

  • @lainiiangel I think you are used to with that light rains in UK.. just to tell you that I live in a deserted climate and couple of years ago, an unpridictable thunderstorm with a cloudburst produced 100+mm in half an hour.. the place I am talking about is in Saudi Arabia ;).. although I have seen 185mm in an hour which was in Pakistan..(you know the moonsoons)

  • That's not too heavy. We had one of those rare dark-purple cells pass over Atlanta a few years back. Had the rain lasted more than 2 minutes, this place would still be underwater. In broad daylight, the viability dropped to about 40ft until it let up. The atmosphere can hold up a hell of a lot of water when it wants to.

  • lol i love storms

  • Looks like a typical Missourah gully washer :)

  • lol i live in missouri and it storms like evey other day
