  • Hey

I followed exactly what he did, but when i type in localhost/phpmyadmin it says:

    MySQL said:

#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)

Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.

    Someone please help!

Thanks, great video by the way.

  • owwwwsum...you saved my life bro...tq

  • Very helpful video. Very simple to understand. I'm new to php and mysql and have watched many videos on how to correctly install phpmyadmin and I have to say this video was the best one. I had no trouble following along and had no problems. Keep the videos coming and thanks

  • I don't have the mysgl_dbc.php file and phpinfo file :/ Help...

  • Question my broswer says Not Found

The requested URL /phpmyadmin was not found on this server. How I fix this?

  • I mean, omiting to tell that this will bring nothing unless they have changed they password for user ROOT first in mysql, or given new one won't help them. That's what i'm seeing on lot of tutorials - So they do exactly right but a password is still on asking..

    Did'n wanna say wrong..

  • Thanks but this does only work on Tutorials - Windows PC users still stuck on that Bolshit to configure. Just Google to know their misfortune .

2011 and they continue to stuck like in the first day for configuration of phpmyadmin pswd - I think this could get better -

  • thanks for the video, helped me a lot ......

  • When I type type into localhost and click on index.php, it just takes me to a bunch of sourcecode that looks like the file where you set a blowfish pass. What gives?

  • the webdev folder needs to be created while performing your installation of Apache, which is the initial video.

  • what if you cant find webdev directory?

  • @1992joyce1992 The webdev folder needs to be created while performing your installation of Apache, which is the initial video.

  • i cant find config.sampel.inc.php

  • Everyone can just download Wamp Server!

  • @electronicsnow1 Thats true it would be much easier. The only downside is less control of your web server's configurations.

  • I do not have a webdev directory in my C drive

  • great video , thank you very much, it worked like a charm even with phpmyadmin version 3.4.1

  • Yes. I had to see the php installation video to creat the correct extensions. Thanks you for both videos.

  • Thanks! I had PHP Apache, and MySQL already set up, but didn't know how to get phpMyAdmin configured. This video is greatly appreciated. For anyone who is just starting in PHP (like me), two great learning resources are:

    For installing everything needed:

    webdevelopersnotes(dot)com

    For learning PHP and MySQL:

The book "Head First PHP & MySQL"

Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration.

and my page when i login looks different but it has all of the same stuff.

  • If you have not seen the php installation video I created. I would recommend watching it first. If you have seen it already, then its possible you missed adding the mcrypt extension during the php installation.
