@kelissoso To me, this video tells a story not (at least not closely) related to the lyrics. I still don't get the lyrics, but they melt very nicely with almost all scenes shown in this video. To me, this is art, and art isn't always meant to be understood ;)
Love that Opeth started to make a decent videos. I'd love to see videos by Lassie Holie to such songs like Bleak or Blackwater Park. This would be... I can't describe it in my words!
Mr. Hoile, you are the greatest music video director I have ever seen. Thank you for contributions to such great artists like Steven Wilson and bands like Opeth. I salute you.
Btw in my opinion they should hav kept the part 4:31 - 4:46 in double duration, just like on the record. They shouldn't have cropped this part... Epiclly breathtaking.
thanks for uploading all your great works. love your eye for details (textures, motion of cloths, symbolic use of colors) and your ability to capture & reflect the atmosphere of certain songs/ emotions and translate those into a visual.
always finding beauty in places, expressions and things, where nobody even bothers to look for it.
What a great song! Not too deep lyrically, but simple like a dark lullaby. The transitions in tone are great. I wish there were more progressive metal bands like Opeth.
funny that i noticed but...i want Akerfeldt's pants...in a completely straight way.

One of the best prog metal bands for years..Gonna take some years for a band to come up with music of this genre..
TheRusskinruss 2 years ago
yep, Opeth have Progressive Death Metal down like no other
d0r1705 2 years ago
well, there is Between the Buried and me, a little heavier, and more technical, different feel, but i put them in that genre ;)
