  • so the owl doesn't fly away??

  • humans suck :D

  • He's gotta owl lotta love to give...

  • the owl is like what the heck is thus and the dog is just like whatev (:

  • It's amazing how the dog tolerates him also very cute and fat fledgeling you got there :)

  • such a sweet video!! I can't understand ppl who disliked this, they've never loved anybody, I assume..

  • Edward Scissor Hands is sympathizing so hard right now.

  • is the owl a pet or a wild owl that landed in your yard?

  • @fornello123

This is an Eagle Owl. it is not native to North America. We are licensed by the Federal government to posess her. She will be used for captive breeding in the future. you can see her all grown up on Mythbusters the birds on a car myth.

    Thanks for looking.

  • This is one of the cutest videos I've ever seen in my life :3 awww.

  • Wee is preening the dog like he would preen another owl.........there is no lice involved here Mr.Msh3an.......duh

  • the ONLY thing that bewilders me about this is how can 18 people click the dislike button? really? REALLY? those people are just pissed an owl didn't pet THEIR dog.

  • Requesting permission to mash this up with Falcor's line from 'The Never-Ending Story' where he says, "Would you mind scratching behind my right ear? I can never quite reach it." XD Of course, I'll have to mirror to the video since the owl is scratching the woofy's left ear.

  • I saw this on Red Eye, cute!

  • this video fucking WINS

  • that's picking lice not petting

  • @MrMsh3an - owls don't pick lice, it's not physically possible

  • @signiblue eating bugs then

  • Never thought I'd see this

  • WPG's are a wonderful dog breed. So smart, kind, loyal.

She looks hot and tired, but will put up with owl.

  • Wirehair Pointing Griffon.

  • Spinoni !! ♥

  • i love how the owl is caressing the dog with its razor sharp talons.

    owl: LOVE MEEEEE

  • Awesome ! Totally awesome !

  • This is the sweetest thing I think I have ever seen!

  • 16 people are Vick sympathizers

  • shit girls say: so are you?

  • i want an owl now

  • do owls have large talons...gosh

  • What an amazing video! This is one of those times, I love video and You Tube. You could never tell this story and have people really understand the amazing interaction. Thank you so much for postng this!

  • What a sweet video and what a good dog. The owl is still immature isn't she?

  • @lovesbriardi looks like she/he still has those baby feathers.

  • maybe it's maybelline

  • That owl feels like edward scissorhands.

  • The owl is like "Let me touch you" and the dog is like "Leave me alone. I didn't ask you to touch me!"

  • what kind of owl. is this

  • @foldedintobeauty3

Louise is a Eurasian Eagle Owl

  • "do i kill it or run away from it?"

  • This is an amazing video on two counts. The obvious is the interaction between the dog and owl. The second count is that I could swear that is my dog except she's sitting right next to me. I also have a Griffon but the weird thing is that her markings and even her mannerisms are the same as your Griff. Even the way she moves her eyes and the way she sighs when she puts her head down! Thanks for sharing this amazing video.

  • Most owl's will eat your heart through your eyes. They are not pets.

  • @SapphireGlitterous Yes of course, God forbid that people rescue animals, and then the wild beasties choose to stick around eh?

  • that owl must have the same hair stylist as michael cera

  • There's no legitimate way to determine what emotions, if any, these animals are feeling.

  • @EllipsisTriangletrap What about river Trolls?

  • he pets him how edward scissorhands would pet a dog

  • 13 people are Cat/Rat lovers.

  • Love this

  • i dont know how but i somehow got here from an egoraptor video

  • Is the owl wild?

  • lol the dog is just "OMG. LET.ME.SLEEP."

  • This dog looks EXACTLY like a dog my family used to have. His name was Shrek. We had to put him down a few summers ago due to kidney failure. Thank you so much for posting this! It brought back tons of memories. This is something Shrek would have done :)

  • @crolofson10

    So sorry for your loss

. I cant even think of living withour our Annie or Wi.

    Thanks for looking.

  • dude, why the hell would you dislike this? I can't imagine imagining someone thinking: "I am against owl and dog friendship/cooperation"

  • This is incredible footage! Is the owl still around??

  • @artrock1970

Yes, see our web site raptor adventures. or she has appered on Mythbusters

(the car tip myth ) Thanks for looking

  • owlfro

  • why is that owl so huge?

  • @colddesirex

guess some owls are just huge!

  • @colddesirex

she is an Eagle Owl. ( Bubo Bubo ) The largest species of owl.

  • *brush brush brush*

  • That a baby eagle-owl?

  • @wesmatron

Yes. she was about 7 weeks old. She appeared on Mythbusters. Cat Tip Myth.

  • That is so CUTE....

  • 0:40 "Owl pets dog"

    We know Captain Obvious :P

  • It is beautiful how different kind of species love each other and live in peace no matter what, and humans can't. We go a lot to learn.

  • @bon14789 You obviously never saw a National Geographic documentary... This is an anomaly, not a general principle.

  • @bon14789 Huh? Humans and dogs live together all the time

  • @bon14789 Yes, an animal bred for docility over tens of thousands of years by humans and a bird that relentlessly stalks and tears apart living prey every day, good examples of "love"

  • HOLY SHIT THAT OWL IS TRYING TO EAT YOUR DOG!!!!

  • is the owl picking ticks/fleas off the dog?

  • LoL! I think it's too cute that the owl is using it's talons as though they were "hands" to pet Annie!!

And, Annie does seem very good-natured about the whole thing. Guess this isn't the first time Artemis has "petted" Annie. ;D All in all a very sweet natured video.

What I really liked about it is that it was organic - it wasn't staged, there weren't a bunch of people milling about "ooo-ing" and "aaah-ing". This is just a nice vid of an "everyday" afternoon with doggie and adolescent owl!

  • @paulakaye5

Thanks for the kind words. Annie has been around many baby raptors. it was captured on a warm sunday morning whild doing chores. I was using a Flip Camera. we have more video of them playing but it was shot on an iphone.

  • Too too cute - thanks for sharing. If only humans could learns from animals how to get along. :)

  • @Shar569 Well in that case I choose to get along with animals like a lion. Kill, eat, sleep.

  • So cute.

  • yeah in fact the dog doesnt really like the bird haha, she's just accepting her proximity. She is making a lot of calming signals, which mean she is trying to calm her down, like we would do by eating our nails our shaking our leg.

BTW, Annie is a really good dog, tolerance and respect like this is pretty rare with out best 4 legged friends

  • @faceyou

Annie and the owl still play ! we will post more videos.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Amazing! Both are so tame and get on well with each other!

  • Cameraman: Owl pets dog

    VERY ASTUTE GOOD SIR

  • @DBIYBIMWBIU

    Thanks i is smart.

  • Dog is like a rug towards the end

  • lovely video!

  • I Freakin Love that Coffee Mug.

  • aww that dog is such a calm soul

  • This was the first owl ive seen that had an afro. Its new name is afrOwl. :)

  • The OWL is trying to move up the Food Chain!

just like in happy feet 2 lol

  • Can't people just enjoy the video without the lecturing on what to do with injured birds? Give it a rest, will you?

  • Owls should live wild.

Enough of stupid people that want wild animals like owls as pets.

If you're helping an injured bird you should always try to release it after recovered.

  • "This owl--Louise (nickname Wi)"... Lol wtf? Just name the fkn thing Wi then. It's not like it's ever gonna know that its name is really "Louise". 8\

  • thats a really patient dog

  • I bet she's thinking: hmm, should I cook it, fry it, or eat it raw?? hmmm

  • totally LOVE THIS and love them both!

  • what kind of dog is that?

  • Grandma, quit being weird with the dog

  • It always worked when we used Gelflings!

  • Is that the Illuminati Owl?

  • Wow - that is one patient dog!

  • wirehair point griffon – is that the same as a Spinone Italiano?

  • oh, it was a wirehair point griffon... Looks pretty much the same though.

  • THIS WAS SO LOVELY I GONNA DIE

  • <3!!!!

  • That owl is adorable. The dog is too!

  • That is one tolerant dog! And one huge bird! Never realized owls were so big! Thanks for sharing.

  • A wirehaired pointing griffon and a brown roan spinone look a lot alike. Could be either. Need to see her standing or moving. Very cute video either way!

  • @pgh512

You are correct The dog Annie is our 5 year old Wirehair Pointing Griffon. She has been used for falconry and our bird control company and helped raise our various Raptors. The owl was bred in captivity for our Raptor education programs. We had no idea that anyone else would be interested. We have a few more videos of the two playing. See more about us at raptor

    adventures

    Thank for your interest.

  • @hawksmore1 Thank you! I have many friends now studying unusual, inter-species interactions.

  • How gently Artemis is preening Annie, with such sharp talons & beak. Is the owl and 'orphan' that 'imprinted on Annie?

  • @sunnyjay1 The owl is indeed imprinted on Annie ! Good call. The dog Annie is our 5 year old Wirehair Pointing Griffon. She has been used for falconry and our bird control company and helped raise our various Raptors. The owl was bred in captivity for our Raptor education programs. • Artemis may love Annie, but Annie is just being polite. What a good dog!

  • @sireilly What is the breed of Dog?

  • D'aw this is so ADORABLE

  • This is so sweet.

  • A few months ago I came home at night and sitting right on the chair (outside my front door) when I got out of the car was an owl, the first and only time I have ever seen an owl. It really freaked me out just sitting there like a statue, than it went, "HOO", and and flew off. Creepy

  • Holy fuck that is a huge owl.

  • the best explanation is that the owl is actually trying to eat insects on the dog's hair.. anything else is speculation

  • @bertrab87 Too bad owls don't eat insects.

  • @bertrab87

. Many of our baby Raptors explore thier world with their feet

  • Everybody seems to have a differing opinion on the dog breed...my 2 cents--wirehaired pointing griffon

  • @jpchi123

CORRECT ! Annie is a five year old wirehair point griffon. She is used for Falconry and works very well with both the Falcons and Hawks. The owl is imprinted on Annie. they still play. We will upload more footage of them. We had no idea that there would be so much interest. check us out Raptor Adventures.

  • The dog is a Chocolate Labradoodle..Looks exactly like my sisters dog Archie

  • Poor owl, it looks like a fledgeling. Is it trying to get the dog to feed it like it's owl parents would have? I hope it's in some kind of animal rehab!

  • The dog looks like a very nice Wirehaired Pointing Griffon; always a laid back breed.

  • The owl is obviously trying to portray the role of the little fingered dude in Scary Movie! THE ONE WHO CUTS THE TURKEY!

  • Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. There's one curled up at my feet. No owls though

  • I am in love with this video lol owls are so intriguing...

  • this is too cute!

  • I WANT AN OWL NOW

  • I find this easy to masturbate to..

  • It's a baby owl, still changing her feathers. At 2:16 someone says, "another baby bird, honey". It's probably fallen from a tree and it's not the first one apparently.

  • Comment removed

  • The hair on that owl looks like the moldy carpet I once had in a cheap, college apartment back in the day.
