There are two teams of partners sitting across from each other in a four player game. In a two player game the opponents would sit across from each other
Sweet Board!! Great job explaining the rules .. except I have played the game for years and in various provinces and have never heard of the "Your disk must make it into the 15 when no opponent's disks are in play" rule. In fact when only playing with two players that was part of the strategy .. either shoot for the 20 and leave your disk exposed for an easy hit if you miss or attempt to use on of the pegs close to you to shield your disk and force your opponent to make a difficult shot. :)
@Rheostatik ..... hahaha Fuck, man, your comment cracked me up. Me and my buddies get drunk and stoned once or twice a year and have somewhat of a crokinole tournament with 4 -8 teams of 2. The game is fun as hell but the best part of the whole tournament is the infinite amount of trash talking that goes down. What a riot.
@robinwcollins yeah we have never played with this rule either. I've also never played with the "shoot from the back line, as long as its in the 5 zone, or touching any line attached to the 5 zone it was ok.
The guy at the top left of the table is keeping his hands from view. I suspiciously ask if he is engaging in masturbaotry practices, because of the commanding allure of Brian's voice.
I don't know the rules but you said at 2:06 that the shot is illegal because only one of your discs must touch the opponent's disc, yet the shot does exactly that.
He said the shot was legal. It's a little hard to hear, but he goes over what happens if it doesn't immediately following. There, he was trying to demonstrate a valid shot.
We hadn't originally planned on doing a review we just sort of had the camera up and going to shoot good shots. I decided a little of the way in to just go ahead and make a small review. It came out pretty good so we kept it. That's why the format is largely different.
And just to give credit where credit's due; it was Tim with the amazing shot. I wouldn't want TJ to feel good about himself needlessly
I love Crokinole. Also good fun are Carom and Kubbuteo

Why are there only 2 colors for 4 players?
Seems like it would be hard to keep track of.
Or are there only 2 teams?

the way i played was that once you start playing you cant move the board or your seat, just saying

Is "the amazing shot" to which you refer Tim's next-to-last, when he bounces of a black and into the 20?

Black came out ahead 45, right? Deanna didn't need to remove her last shot.

@hallpriest9 Never mind.

You left what is perhaps the most important part of crokinole: trash-talking.

There is no common rule that says your disk must make it into the central 15 point circle when there are no opponent's disk on the board.

you can't hit your disk before hitting the opponent's disk.
if you do, both of your disks come off.

looks like an awesome game
this is the first ive heard of it yet i noticed, isnt the one at 5:10 supposed to be ditched?
trueROCKnHEAVY 2 years ago
No. If you notice, they're playing teams, two black two white.
At 5:10, there is no black piece on the board, which is why he shoots for the middle.

I humbly answer myself, yes. Yes he is.

It looks like a fun game, but it's horrible watching a video review without even once seeing the faces of the voice-over talent.
T.J. had a fantastic shot, when he got it in the 20-hole after bouncing off a black disc! Oh, T.J.'s scalp looks pretty good too. ;)
