honestly the only thing that bugged was the amount of commercials. there were more than scifi, good god. tell me wats the point of having a commercial break if all you show when you return is a preview and shortened ed.
I could just rent the dvd, but 1 ep a week vs 4 a month. I mean to watch 4 eps in 1 go then wait a month for more isn't as appealing as watch 1 ep then wait a 1 week for 1 more.
I know!! I was just talking about that with my Anime Club Prez! that IS one of those things I was talking about, but you know, never said on the vid. it was rushed...
i agree with him!!! it was BRUTALLY edited...they took out massive parts. parts that would have been aired on cartoon network's adult swim. lik the clay spider bombs that jumped on the guards faces...n where was the blood?? oh well...least its gettin translated now and hopefully they continue making episodes for it to keep it as one of the longest running anime series around.
Well, just like the original Naruto... it was BRUTALLY edited for the american kids, lol! I think they should've just kept Naruto in it's purest form and aired it on Cartoon Network's Adult swim.
I guess the best option to watch the anime in it's entirety is to hope that they release the whole series uncut on DVD or something. :P
But what really surprised me actually... is that Naruto is airing on a Disney station. o_O lol!
The original Naruto was NOT brutally edited. Dragon Ball Z was brutally edited, at least through the Frieza Saga. Yu-Gi-Oh was brutally edited. One Piece was apocalyptically edited. These cases altered key moments in their series, dulled their impact. Naruto was a little toned down, at least at first, but the impact of important moments and plot points was kept intact. They also loosened up later on, even showing the impostor Kabuto pulling out her heart without any editing during filler hell.
Well ok, "brutally" was a poor choice of a word on my part. They did keep in key scenes which overall kept it in a whole. What I meant by my expression is that they just made it more kid-friendly. So in comparison it just seemed toned down overall compared to the Japanese one. It is still good of course. Maybe I'm just too much of a purist at heart.
But yeah, that scene surprised me. I never expected them to keep that in.
it ain't that bad

I wouldn't say BRUTALLY, but its was edited to an extent...

Well, that was a poor choice of words on my part. But it still was edited quite a bit to make it kid friendly.
