  • Very Nice.

  • cool

  • This is very good work, very, very professional! You should be proud of this.

  • My Fav Enterprise by far!!! great Job!!!

    Crushes Joke Joke Abrams

  • Hell of alot better than any of JJ Abram's flunkies could have done! Thank you!

  • That was fantastic! Thank you. You know, I made my mother take me to ST:TMP and she never quite understood why I was crying during the shuttlepod fly-by and the "big reveal".

  • very cool!

  • GREAT job! Love the atmospherics of this! And I still think this design of the Enterprise holds up well. Never seems to look dated.

  • Really impressive work, as someone who hopes to fiddle with 3D animation thanks for the break downs.

  • this is my enterprise

  • this is a beautifil tribute to the grand old lady.

  • @thiswonderfullife - I think that would be interesting for today's technology. I don't know if that would be quicker, it would depend on how much motion was filmed with the model. Plus, it's just more practical to do the entire scene in 3D now.

  • This is great would love to hit you up on some tips! I just discovered Blender and Im doing a mesh from scratch! Its coming out pretty sick! would love your input and suggestions!

  • @shawty305 - Sure! Ask me anytime, just send me a PM =]

  • Wow for what it is worth I thought you did a great job. Thanks for sharing.

  • I would credit the person that made the model. A model like that takes at least 2 days. After texturing, more like a week.

  • @rexxthunder - I did, at 0:57. And after seeing a model like this, it most definitely took more than a week for Dennis to make. Huge kudos to Dennis Bailey for making it, and Eric "GuitarEC" Clark for Blender conversion.

  • This is well done! If I may ask, how many render passes in AE did you use?

  • @Katana2040 - Thanks! I had a pass for the Enterprise, the stars, the planet, and the sun. Then I had atmosphere and flaring. So I composited six plates altogether.

  • holy cow! nice work!

  • Amazing Alex!

  • Wow, I really love the lens flares and light effects...they really do sell the entire thing. I haven't done a lot of comp yet (I've spent most of my time learning how to model, texture, and animate), so my flyby looks a little stale. It needs a little kick! Any help?

  • Great Video! I love seeing quality work done with this mesh - it was a real pleasure to convert it for Blender! Would like to pick your brain about a few things if you have time. My contact info is in the mesh's notes in the .blend file.

  • @Guitarec - Sure, you can send me a message anytime!

  • Absolutely excellent man!

  • Amazing. That opening shot with the music gave me goosebumps. Can't wait to see more.

  • This is airportchris2, my channel was suspended.

  • Good Work, thank you... for breakdown

  • 2 days?

  • Yep! Between rendering, putting it all together, adding lensflares and correcting color, it took a little under two days of work.

  • wow, not to sound rude, but that's a long time, I could do something like this in a single day.

  • It's not rude! I put a lot of time and energy into what I do. I'd rather take two days to "get it right" than do a couple-hour straight render and call it my best.

  • Well, sometimes, some of my stuff takes a few days to a week to complete, but an animation like this would take me a few hours, to a day at most.

  • looked great!!!! You should totally do some footage of the E. I wanna see more beautiful angles of that ship :P

  • Beautifully done! Great work!

  • OMFG I Came HARD!!!!

So good seeing the old enterprise! Great Fucking work!

You're indeed almighty and would go down in the history books if you made a battle scene with your skills!

    Again great work!

  • Good job. Blender can composite as well with Composoting nodes. That's what I'm learning now. Blender is awesome.

  • Thanks! I know, Blender is the best! I haven't really learned much about nodes, other than using the effect ones (motion blur, focus, etc.). I haven't tried it for compositing like this yet.

  • I am trying to learn Blender, but's not straight forward, and stuff, like 3DS Max, if I can't get used to Blender, I will export the models and import them into 3ds max, retexture them, and stuff.
