Everyone's bitching about Avatar being a rip-off movie, but It's nothing like that. So what if the theme was related to Pocahontas or whatever? Avatar has at least 12 differences from Pocahontas, maybe more, and I have to say that I thought Avatar was a better story. I was too unfortunate not to see this film in the theater, in 3D.... avatar has followed a typical scenario that doesnt get boring, the main character gets with a new race and at first the main feels awkward. soon he starts getting used to it but then something tragic happens that makes the main hated again then the main has to fix things up again.

Anyone thinks Avatar has the feel of anime like Ghibli's movies like Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa? I mean Cameron is a fan of Miyazaki and i believe while he waited 14 years to get the technology right for the film he saw both movies. 1. Avatar used the Romeo and Juliet story (girl on one side, boy on other, both fall in love) that all people cherish.

2. Cameron was able to take this story line and add slight twists to make it entertaining.

I say kudos to him for taking a well known and unoriginal plot and dazzling it up for the masses to enjoy. People love this story, so why not make it slightly different and give it to them?
