Hello! Thank you for all the great demo videos of the DMC-FZ38. I have a Question regarind the white stripes (vertical) that apperars when hard light (from a small but bright source) reaches the sensor of the camera. From what I can see in this video and also in other clips made with it, the senser is not capable to handle this. Instead there are white lines from the top to the bottom of the screen. Is this showing up in "all" compact / longzoom-cameras or just in some of them. Its really sad.
@rymdskrotet The white lines can be eliminated with a ND filter, which i purchased after shooting with the camera. I dont know about other compact/longzoom cameras but this flaw varies depending on the censor in the camera.
@Dimitry49 Thank you for your quick answer! I have also heard about the possibility to use a ND filter, but I was not sure if this only was a rumor. Would you be able to record a glimmering sea or something similar where the purple/white stripes would appear and then put on the ND filter, using the same settings so I can see the result. Is there a big change? =)
@krasav4ik82 Yes, you have an auto focus or manual focus functions. The manual is adjusted through a switch beside the screen. Auto focus can also be adjusted by pressing a dedicated button at the top of the body to adjust in center or anywhere else on the screen..as long as its pre-set!
Hi dimitry i wish you could spend a little time looking at my video taken by the FZ38 i dont know what option to choose in vegas to get rid of that annoying black header anf footer :( cheeres!.
@sonnysingh03 When rendering the video, choose 720P at w/e FPS! this should do the trick. Also, makes sure you are not cropping the footage in the program.
You get better video with manual setting and color temperature set to warm. On auto mode the pictures and video on this camera are too much on the cold side at least I think so.

Do you know whether the FZ38 is the same as this, because when i googled it, it came up with FZ35/FZ38 a lot?
but the FZ38 is a lot cheaper :S

@IIRockstarrxX Yes. its the same camera. The FZ38 is the European version as it only allows for up to 30 min of record time due to tax regulations!

Im really interested in buying one for my other channel - considering the 38 is £100 less i would probably go for that one :D
