The clothes are affected because Oda said there would be too much unnecessary nudity. So he makes their clothes work with their powers. And Luffy's clothes somewhat work with his fruit, notice how they shrink with Gear Third's side effect.

Crocodile said that he has honed his Devil Fruit powers to the point where he reflexively changes into sand, and it has been shown that Enel has been able to turn into lightning while he was asleep and stabbed by a Shandrian.

Maybe I'm wrong, but luffy wouldn't be able to hit a logia user if he wasnt unknowingly using his HAKI. Maybe this is the first chapter where he uses it, even if he still doesn't know what haki is.

I think you're right.I just read the manga of this...it's totally the blood it stopped Croc from dispersing,it'll stop him from refining too I don't see why not if water/blood is as potent as the ocean

You make a good point. But I think when they say Logia it doesn't mean that it has to have no mass. I think Logia is the ability to become a certain element(Sand, in Croc's case), be able to control it and become intangible except from that element's weakness(which is blood and water in Croc's case).

Not to mention it has been specifically stated that Croc is a Logia type user. Aokiji is another Logia type whose element can be "touched".

@Oz8O Its the Honey Queen character and its a "liquid" logia rather than water. Its an undisclosed liquid and she cant appear to create more of it. I think having a water logia would defeat the point of the DF weakness... although Aokiji has ice, which is basically water.

@Oz8O Kizaru is Light so Glass Glass Fruit or Jozu's Diamond Fruit would make his beams ineffective, as it would refract or reflect the light. Akainu is trickier but water cools and hardens magma. Basically if Ace and Crocodile teamed up Kizaru would be buggered.

@AlexanderT21 Ppl tend to misunderstand something. I keep reading a water logia would be the best coz water annuls other DF, but its just SEA water. Water itself has no effect on DF users. (or Luffy wouldn't be able to take a shower or even drink xDD)

@anormaluser I think the weakness applies to being SUBMERGED in water rather than being touched by it. Otherwise like you say, showers drinks or rain would stop him. And it possibly applies to fresh water as well as sea water since Ace almost drowned after being thrown in a river and had to be rescued. So its either being submerged or prolonged contact with water that does it. Rain/shower either isnt prolonged enough or it isnt a body of water.

Rain, Showers) do not weaken Devil Fruit users, but "still" water (ie. the ocean) do affect them. But it has been shown that falling into lakes and rivers also makes the Devil Fruit user powerless. Also, Kairoseki has the power of the sea, also weakening Devil Fruit users.

The general rule (with an exception, wont reveal due to spoilers) is that if you pierce a Logia-type, the attack will pass through them. That's how I remember it. I think Croc falls into that category nicely.

I'm pretty sure it's real. Most devil fruits affect the clothes, and focusing your powers constantly to make a coat... I just don't know about your theory there.
