I have followed the development of the graphite rods for the last 25 years fishin salmon and steelhead g loomis early on rods were not as durable as lamiglas L.H.S rods when returning a rod one day Gary loomis told me Could make rods like the L.H.S. but would be like fishing with broom stick Today i fish G.L.X. rods The G.L.X. rods are not only light years ahead of other rods in materials when fish in respect to there specific design thay are unbelievable super light very strong and springy
@rednoseroxster hmm..i agree with your view here, used to work in a flyfishing store and i have tried and tested quite a few fishing rods over the years..and owned a lot them, both the cheap and expensive ones..testing them side by side was always fun and revealed to me a minimal difference no matter what pricetag ..these companies know how to market their stuff and people buy into it..people should be more concerned with the lure they put at the end of their lines instead...;););)my opinion..
@hansebeddari As long as the fishing rod is sensitive, light, and durable then it's a good rod. True, it's the lure and most of all a good angler who knows where and how to catch the fish that is going to make a difference.
@rednoseroxster there are way better rods, i fish a gloomis my self, a pro green series, fish flats with them. its a spinning rod. but if you find a man who can do it well and who has certain blanks, a handmade is way better. thats my opinion atleast
