  • @lizazoon Did Adam have an anus?

Before "the fall" there was no death, no decay, no waste....

  • @Imaginefree69 Good point.

  • How do you know that he started work on Monday?

  • "God saw the light was good"... likes to blow his own trumpet I see?

  • You might enjoy comparing the two accounts of creation, too- Genesis Chapter ONE has the same developmental sequence as Evolutionary theory teaches. In chapter TWO man was created before plants and animals. In chapter ONE Adam and Eve were created at the same time. In chapter TWO Adam was created before the plants and Eve was created after all the animals.
  • Chapter 2 is a more detailed account of the sixth day, when humans were created. (Genesis 2:4)

  • Chapter 2 is a more detailed... Not at all. Observe the sequence: Genesis chapter 1 Verse 21- God made the birds (day 5) V 25- God made the wild animals (day 6) V 27- God created man in his own image.. male and female he created them Now chapter 2 V7- God made man from the dust of the ground V19- God made birds and ALL the beasts (same day!) V22- God made a woman from the man's rib (because he didn't want to marry an aardvark) It's a direct contradiction. They cannot both be true.
  • The only alleged contradiction I see is Genesis 2:19, where some people desperate for an excuse not to believe would interpret "every" as "every single beast and bird in the universe". No. God created enough beasts and birds for Adam to name (Genesis 2:19).

I don't see how you could think Genesis 2:7, 22 could contradict Genesis 1.

  • Only someone willingly deluded

    would interpret "every" as "enough."

    But, hey, that's your choice.

Anyone with a grade five education

    can readily see the difference

    between what is written

and what you SAY is written.

And that's all I wanted to show.

  • The only reason you are calling believers deluded is that you are desperate to find a contradiction. ;)

  • Desperate?

It's right there for anyone to see.

Or perhaps you'd rather tackle the talking animals,

    the 4-legged insects,

    the flat earth, the...?

  • Take your best shot. The Bible is always correct.

  • "Take your best shot"

    I presented the documentation.

If you choose to ignore the words in the book

yet to hype the book as perfect,

    you're merely worshipping it.

Feel free, but rational people will attend to the words

    in making their judgements.

  • Every does not include the universe's entire population of beasts and birds. By looking at Genesis 1, this is very clear.

  • "By looking at Genesis 1, this is very clear."

    Fine.

    So show me.

Saying so doesn't make it so.

    Show me.

  • "God created... every winged fowl after his kind. ... And the evening and morning were the fifth day." (Genesis 1:21, 23)

These were created on the fifth day. This rules out the "every" in Genesis 2:19 meaning "the entire population of" since those events happened on another day.

  • "This rules out the "every"...

Only if you have a priori solid knowledge

that this is all factual and accurate.

Which is NOT the case, as that is the question we are investigating.

"If it's true it must mean this.

Therefore it means this, because it has to be true."

    No, that just doesn't fly.

    Circular reasoning just causes dizziness.

  • You are wrong in that this was circular reasoning. Circular reasoning would be: "If it is true, then it means this. It means this; therefore, it is true."

However, you are right in that you can only completely trust the Bible if it is true (from the Lord).

  • Circular reasoning is ALSO

    "I assume this is true,

so no matter what the may actually say,

    this is what it means."

Now, how about them 4-legged insects?

  • I have not performed such fallacy, for I have not assumed in such a way; rather, I have simply read the Bible according to how it is written, not what I want it to say.

Now, what "four-legged" "insects" are you referring to?

  • "four-legged" "insects"

    Here ya go:

    Leviticus 11:20-23

    "every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four;

    the locust..the beetle..and the grasshopper"

Or if you'd rather prove the validity of talking animals,

    you know, I'm flexible.

  • The passage in the KJV does not use the word "insects".

Do not try to discourage me from answering your questions; I've heard all of them before, so they are quite easy, actually.

Now, which talking animals would you like to point me to?

  • "The passage in the KJV does not use the word "insects"." Nor did I ever say that it did. Try not to be so anal. The organisms listed are all insects, and they all have and travel upon six legs. Six. Use Google and search for images if you doubt it. The bible says four legs. As you have NOT rebutted this simple, clear error I somehow think you do NOT find it to be "quite easy." Let's not move on to talking snakes and donkeys until you finish with the 4-legged grasshoppers and beetles.
  • The Bible does not read, "These have four legs." The Bible reads, "upon all four". If these creatures would be considered insects in modern-day biology, then there are at least 2 possibilities:

    1. "Upon all four" was a common phrase meaning "crawling".

    2. Only four "legs" were counted as part of the "four" in "upon all four".

  • amen!
