Is it that people fear change? My wife just had minor surgery for a kidney stone, stayed in the hospital for a half day and the bill was $16,000! For minor surgery? Really? Call me crazy, but I think maybe places like Germany have it right. Free or almost free universal health care for all citizens. I know doctors and surgeons should be paid well, but $16,000 for kidney stone surgery seems downright obscene, and I have excellent insurance. We definitely need to change the system.
