  • Hey Brandon - I know you don't advocate grains, but I have started experimenting with adding more grains in my diet and I am actually feeling better. It is helping me sleep a bit better, and my depression is a bit less too. Mostly using brown rice, wild rice, quinoa, oatmeal, air-popped popcorn.

  • @TheRealPaleoDiet i honestly think that some people just need to up the quality of food theyre eating, and others need to fast and detox, but some detox just from removing certain toxic foods and replacing them w/ pastured meat instead of feedlot meat, or cutting out pasteurized dairy for raw/fermented dairy or just cutting out grains all together, everyone doesnt have to be so restrictive

  • Eggs gave me the worst gallstone attack a year ago. In Anreas Mortitz's book (Amazing liver and gallbladder flush), he states that eggs are the number 1 food to bring on gallstone attacks in people with gallbladder disease. Oh, I don't think that your idea of using lard to cook food is a good one. Search for "Heart Attack Grill" here on youtube. It's a restaurant in Arizona that cooks their food in lard. Scary stuff. If eggs/butter work for you, then fine; but it is awful for me personally.

  • @PureAussieGold Meat does not provide enough b12 either. The latest research out of Japan and Finland shows that 500 mcgs is an optimum rda for b12. You would need to eat 70 clams a day to get that. That is why 30-40% of the population are b12 deficient.

    Since I started taking sublingual methyl b12 5000mcg per day, I feel better and have better endurance.

If we look at all these vitamins and stuff and see what good they do to us and then try to get them all in us, in the end we will be popping hundreds of pills and using hundreds of powders and eating all kinds of weird stuff like D. Traditionally, in scientific studies on humans, eggs have been used as the source to demonstrate the adverse effects of cholesterol on our health & our heart arteries.     Cholesterol is important, but it does not have to come from an animal source, because the body is able to produce it despite eating a vegan diet.

Secondly, the conversion rate of naphthoquinones is poor to nil for some people. Often it's even worse for people on a low fat diet.

    Also, fruit is not a viable option as a caloric staple in a wild or tribal setting. The Dongria Kondh tribe eats more fruit than any other tribe, and they have to wait weeks for the fruit to ripen...they even have to send a tribesman out to camp out under the tree for weeks banging pots and pans together to scare monkeys away from the unripe fruit. In the mean time they hunt and eat red meat animals.

  • @jhardknox Your totally wrong with that statement "fruit and vegetables contain more fat soluble vitamins than butter" plants cannot have fat soluble vitamins like A,D,E,K in them.....it's impossible for plants to contain fat soluble vitamins. They have antioxidants like beta carotene that can be converted into Retinol by the body, of course the conversion is often times inadequete so it's best to consume sources of fat soluble vitamins as well.

Human beings cannot convert beta carotene effectively, it can only be absorbed around 4-6%. So lets look at 100 grams of spinach which has 9376IU Vitamin A, men usually absorb around 4% of their beta carotene so thats 375IU. Thats not whats converted to Retinol thats just the amount of beta carotene you'll absorb.

So now lets look at the butter........ 100 grams of butter contains 2499IU of vitamin A in the form of Retinol, retinol absorbtion rate is 60-80%. So lets give you the benefit of the doubt and say 60%.

Hunting and gathering was/is are most natural/healthy diet, also the lowest impact on enviornment and animals. So that is the diet that existed the longest with the most generations. D2 is less easily absorbed,more toxic and mushrooms have very small amounts of this nutrient. Again plants contain precursors to vitamin E not the real thing and the Vitamin K from plants is in the form of K1.

  • @cintronbrandon wow, toi aussi. you've done a 180. when did this happen? i eat meat, eggs and dairy too, but i am pretty careful about where they come from. for me, having awful, constant gas for a year and a half on a more raw, plant diet (i was never vegetarian, but i was careful about food combianations) was a pretty big sign that something was off. thanks.

  • @durianriders i doubt people in austrailia eat more grass fed whatever . . .they are living in an industrialized nation just like canada or the us, the vast majority eat crap butter and crap food. it's REALLY hard to find good quality animal food, you have to go out of your way, and the vast majority aren't even conscious of the difference between an egg at the grocery store and those sold by a dude at his place from chickens/turkeys/ducks out in the yard.
