@tjenkins83 Agreed 100%, even Eric's voice was solid that evening. To go just a step further, I felt like this was the best performance of White Room on youtube that I've seen.
@kantanaman525 Clapton's vocals can be great, with the only thing holding him back is his confidence in it. Jack Bruce did a great job of carrying the band vocally but compared side by side they both are accomplished. What a great performance this was.
absolutely belting!! clapton just lets rip with that solo, jack bruce's voice in my opinion has got better and ginger baker is as good a drummer as he was b4. terrific!
always loved clapton/cream but check the 60s versions. there was more raw n feeling in it.........brothers were 'feeling it' when they were baking 24/7.
Firstly Claptons Vocals on this were superb his playing was great and to be honest its now apparent to me why Clapton still managed to pull in his 50's.
White Room !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CREAM ~ LIVE at Royal Albert Hall ~ F..ckg awesome!! Eric Clapton..Ginger Baker..Jack Bruce..TIMELESS MASTERS..love this..x
yes, this is the Clapton I admired, in a band of great quality and skill and imagination. they didn't write this song (nor most others), but they pulled it off as no other band could have -- heavy, lyrical, longing, powerful . . . .
Someone help me out....is Bruce playing thru some older papercone Hartke cabinets alongside a 410XL aluminum cone cabinet? Or maybe my old eyes are failing me! LOL Doesn't really matter 'cause it all sounds great!
I am an OLDER fart of the 50's, and we will always have the memories, the videos... And you are only as young as you feel- screw the physical symptoms....
I just think that Eric [seems] to have lost some of that 'fire' he had from the early days; there were so many great 'licks' on the original recording that he did not play in this later version.
@MrAEGuitar Bruce's voice, body and everything has aged. Drugs do that to ya. Look at Roger Daltrey, Brian May, and other rockers who haven't done drugs little to none at all.
it's really cool, comparing this to the 60's recording, how much they've musically grown, matured, and aged. amazing how well they sound together and how they still 'click' as players.
This is the real McCoy at its best. Where will you see a performance 40 years later to sound like the original. Ive played this video every day since I heard it...OUTSTANDING!
Gracias a Eric Clapton existe EDWARD VAN HALEN. Eddie pasaba horas de horas, incluso en las madrugadas, tratando de sacar las canciones de Cream. Allí descubrió su vocación, allí apareció el REY.
at first I was put off that Clapton was doing some of the singing - it was all Jack back then - but - wow - it's probably the best singing Clapton's ever done. I'm glad he's on it.
one of the best cream songs>>>> Eric sounds wicked and it gets me up and up and away!!!!>>>> Ive seen eric and da boyz a few occasions in sydney entertainment centre... 1983 - 85 and 1990!!!! Excellent blues guru!!!!
Saw the Cream in '68 in San Francisco. I couldn't believe 3 guys to create this sound. I remember Ginger Baker finishing with a drum beat... he chucked his sticks down on the drums and the strobe lights caught them in slow-mo flying out into the audience. Bedlam erupted.
@Retrographer And i may be an 18yr old boy, but i also know that these guys swing it like hell! It will be a sad day when the musicians from this generation are all gone.
I enjoyed watching the reunion - they've definately still got it - but if I'd paid for a ticket I would have been disappointed he didn't use the wah on this song (or a great deal throughout the concerts) and ignored the lead riffs in the verses which to me make the song iconic.
I love this song, thank you.
