this is what a real marhcing band is like excessive props tells no story the story should be told through the color guard/band members, and the music/movement effects

I agree with you 500%. Props are just distractions from how atrocious the playing and marching are!

I think general effect should be considered by drill and the impact moments in the music, plus added visuals from the band.

that was great...especially the way yall use ur uniforms...all we had (the percussionist) were black button up shirts with black pants...but our skool colors were red and white...???...this year we are getting drumline jackets to wear at the games...

oh yeah cy-woods is really close to us you could walk from spillane to cy-woods. yeah and earlier in the year but it wasnt to long ago they played a show for us in our football field. I'm in band and looking forward to being in the Cy-Woods marching band in high school! :D

Great visuals, the marching is quite amazing, battery parts are completely different from creek's, but i have to say they have you beat musically, the winds sound incredibly weak and underpowered.

Realize that this video and sound was recorded at the furthest reaches of the stadium using a hand held video camera with the built-in mic. Background and wind noise included. I know that the sound quality is a poor reflection of the bands true performance. I would like to see and hear the professionally recorded version before passing judgement.

Other bands in this competition used sideline dish microphones, which I am surprised are even allowed.

I saw this band at SHSU, and GREAT performance, expecially by such a young band program!

The only complaint is that the woodwinds are incredibly weak, as was mentioned before.

The fact that parabolic dishes are not used makes no difference in that statement.

I graduated from Langham Creek a few years ago. But i still go to all the contests with friends, because i love marching band. :)

yah, they started their show a month behind every other band in the state, so I don't think they were able to get everything they could have out of their show.

But next year should be great, if their band director hasnt been fired, which is the rumor im hearing. :/

just to set the record, our band director has not been fired, but the band director at the middle school that most of our band is from has moved to a different school district, and no one has been fired

Thanks for posting these videos! We don't get to see this perspective from the pit area. The "G", Young and the kids have done a great job! It's hard to believe we are fielding over 80 freshman. The sky is the limit in the next few years. Thanks again!
