There is so much contraversy as to why the governments are building there underground bunkers...it is of course in fear of the solar storns expected in 2012, but i would guess that is only a small part of the story, they are preparing for the pole shift and how they will be safe from the solar radiation while all us poor saps will be dying off from the cancers caused by said radiation

ok, 10:18 seconds into the program, I theorize that the Earth's magnetic field is powered by the solar flares themselves. Since, the sun currently is in a sun spot lull, scientists naturally see a decline in the magnetic field as it loses energy or momentum.

But this lull in solar flares is the calm before the storm that will re-energize the field and possibly flip the polarity.

i heard it was originally released talking about pole shifts because Nasa shut it down now all of a sudden they rename it the magnetic storm like they don't want us to know the real thing. Yet I have seen just recently that someone admitted the poles are shifting the magnetic ones, and that project should try crystal don't we use that for keeping our watches perfectly on time?

Strange how the video does not mention the danger to electronics, especially in satellites, due to CMEs (coronal mass ejections) during periods of low magnetic field strength. Strengths of one tenth to one hundredth of current strengths would certainly increase cancer rates due to higher cosmic radiation, especially while flying, yet also contribute to biogentic mutation rates. During solar maxima all effects become intensified. The is NO technological solution known, any ideas?

I think that the explanations of the causes of cancer are so tenuous that such a thing may be hard to determine. Mutation rates can be quantized tp some extent, but certainly no more easily explained. Still, a good question.

@tremault the time between shifts probably isn't a periodic thing, it can have a very rich structure just because of the complexity of the dynamics. especially considering that the magnetic field of the outer core involves the coupled Naiver-Stokes and Maxwell's Field equations, and the Navier-Stokes equations are infamous for being chaotic.
