@MrMilagroqq - I spent about 2 hours in an inner city public school. I saw kids with tattoos, their pants on the floor, swapping drugs, and threatening physically smaller students. Should I take this as indicative of all public schools?
@He101A - Actually, homeschooling works if the person has a love of learning. The grade levels do not matter as much as the person's love of learning.
I have some in-laws whom were "home schooled." Frankly it's a joke. None of them have any social skills and they're study habits are atrocious (they are all struggling to get through community college) Also their home-schooling material was religious indoctrination material to boot. I feel home schooling should be illegal
@weetimbhoy I just graduated from 4 years of a public high school and 2 years from a public community college. I don't need a "reality check" because I already know both sides of the issue and I stand by my opinions. And no, we didn't have much personality because of the way we did filming for continuity's sake.
@Universopiate Yes you do want to be rude or you wouldn't have said this. We understand that this was a little (a lot) robotic sounding but we did the best we could with what resources we had.
A parents responsibility is to prepare their offspring for the real world. Homeschooling is not the real world, interacting with kids older and younger with different ethnic backgrounds etc. is a microcosm of the real world.
@MrMilagroqq - You interacted with children of other ages in public school?? When I went to public school, we were segregated by age, and since everyone was from the same area, they were all very alike with very little difference in ethnicities. What school did you attend?
@kassklothes yes, we interacted with kids of different age groups. on the bus for a hour and a half (i grew up in the country) with kid k-12, in school grades k-8 and high school 9-12. Also we had blacks, mexican, very few japenese ect ect ect. all the homeshcooled kids i know are bible thumpers, they don't learn sciences greatest achievement, that would be evolution. what part of homeschooling don't you get it's largely a xtian based excuse to keep children from growing up in the realworld
@MrMilagroqq - YOU don't get that it isn't like that. I homeschool my kids. They attend classes with kids that are from all socio-economic backgrounds. They actually discussed Hinduism with a family that practices it, Buddhism with a family that practices it, we were part of a group that was largely Islamic. What you don't get is that you are ill-informed, and busy listening to NEA soundbites. That isn't the basis for a well-rounded education.
@kassklothes Homeshooling isn't the basis of a well-rounded education, either, even when they are not fundamentalist Christian in nature (like the majority).
@MrMilagroqq Indeed, and I find it ironic that they talk of segregation when most of them are more segregated than most school children. They have to learn in their house, and thus cannot socialize with a large group of people day by day, like people in public schools. Maybe most of the people are from the same ethnic background in schools, but you usually have a substantial group of students from minority backgrounds too. And the catch is that they get to socialize with them day by day.
@Wodanaz ROFL!!! You REALLY have no clue what you are talking about!!! You've simply become funny now because you are so truly ignorant about the subject.
@kassklothes I interacted with children of different ages in school, it is what the playtimes are for. But putting people of vastly different ages in the same school is foolish because some minds are a little to young to study with, say, 16 year olds. Do you think, say, 14 year olds and 6 year olds should study together? How foolish!
@Wodanaz - Oh, I get it now, you think that kids do not have playtime outside of school. You know, when I was in school, they repeatedly told me I was there for an education, not socialization. I guess that attitude has changed. That might explain the US's dismal ratings as far as primary education.
@iamknife7 That's great, your not religious and believe in science. I'm afraid your in the minority, I think a child can get a terrific education through homeschooling, however the kids i'm familiar with are not being taught real science and their parents are entrenched in superstition, aka religion
@MrMilagroqq - Why do you think homeschoolers do not embrace science? Why don't you do some actual research instead of reading the NEA talking points?
@kassklothes Can you provide me and many others with factual data, that would suggest homeschooling is not religious based. Again all the homeschoolers I know are religious, and again please show some real data indicating that homeschoolers are taught Darwin's theory of evolution aka real biology
@MrMilagroqq I do not know what state you live in, but from your answers it sounds like a farming state. You may know the homeschoolers from the country who live on farms, but if you go to a city, you will realize it's mostly not Christian. The homeschoolers i know are the ones who: got thrown out of public or private school, went to jail, are thiefs, and liars. There is not data, except if you go to the city (a real city) and see for yourself.
@aries4561 I'm aware some home schoolers were thrown out of schools, but not the majority, this i'm sure of. Why does it bother you that home schooling is predominately xtians or other religious groups.
@MrMilagroqq ALSO most homeschool curriculum is based on God, not evolution, so homeschoolers are not taught evolution. BUT the same could be said for a 40000 dollar a year private school. My cousin goes to a Catholic school and it costs 60000 a year, I looked at the text book and it has no evolution in it at all. You don't need evolution to have a great education. She took calculus, AP chemistry, and a plethora of other advanced courses. No one needs evolution for education.
@aries4561 Please find any noted scientist who did not learn evolution, biology does not exist without evo. You all really do need to grow up. Your using a computer and using all the other luxuries science has given you, and yet you deny it's greatest discovery EVO. So if you can't understand evo. that's fine, I don't totally understand gravity but i''m not to brainwashed to study and respect it. Again, use your computer skills and teach your children about evo. and forego the 6 day fuckfest
@MrMilagroqq You ignored everything i posted. Wow. Science CAN be taught without evolution. And Evolution has absolutely nothing to do with technological advancement. I already proved i know what evolution is, now you are evading the points. Evolution is a theory, not a fact. That's why it says in texts books "darwins theory of evolution," not fact of evolution. Still many discrepancies in something so simple.
@aries4561 no biology can not be taught without micro and macro evolution, deal with it. Evolution is considered a fact with the onslaught of new discoveries. Why don't you check with the National Academy of Sciences, and quit farting around the science topic. You obviously don't understand science, the cosmos and evo and everything else is related. Only a fucking idiot would teach science without it's greatest discovery. And evo has everything to do with advancement. Watching bacteria evolv
@MrMilagroqq Yes, biology can be taught without evolution. Evolution is a myth, can not be proven (without false doctored up evidence). There are several people in the USA and the world who do not accept evolution as fact, and contribute to the scientific society. NAS is run by evolutionists, will not help out your argument. Do some research instead of listening to everybody, and you will realize man coming from apes is completely idiotic.
@aries4561 Go back to homeschool, clown. Several people do not accept evolution as fact...but they are fundamentalists who believe that man was created by a magic spirit from dirt, that the world was just simply made in days by this same spirit and that the doctrine of hell is moral. Lets see, men coming from apes (who look similar to humans) is idiotic? But men being creating from dirt and dust is not? What an amusing world you live in!
@Wodanaz No, people who not accept evolution are searching for the truth of the world. Evolution defies mathematical logic thus it can't be true. A greater being is more likely as thousands of people follow some sort of religion. No, catholic schools do NOT teach evolution, i have asked my friends all who attend catholic schools of some sort, and they despise the theory and do not teach it. Homeschooling only shuns theory's that defy their religion.
@aries4561 Catholic school, whilst arguably religious based, teach things like evolution. In fact the church issued a statement that said that evolution was fact and offered an apology for early opposition to the theory. For Catholics this statement was nothing new, as the church had unofficially supported evolution for decades, which is why they included it in their curriculum. Homeschooling shields children from many different theories and ideas and is thus dangerous.
@Wodanaz As a matter of fact, i know atheist homeschoolers, your theory of "homeschooling shielding people" is flawed. People would rather educate their children in a safe environment than send them out into a place that goes against their morals. Why would a person who could take care of their child's education send them to a place of drugs, alcohol, and other immorality? Now, i know people who are like me, who grew up home schooling but don't have great morals.
@Wodanaz people have their own choices, and whatever teenagers want, they will do when they are older. So get your facts straight. And in order for Macroevolution, microevolution must take place. Primordial slime did not turn into human over night did it? no it took a process of small changes. Did a monkey turn into a human instantly? no, it went through small changes Microevolution. macroevolution is used to base evolution as a whole, like how apes turned into humans CONT.
@Wodanaz Or, how fish turned into lizards. but for the concept to take place, small changes had to take place. thus microevolution. Yes it changed species, through small changes within the species= microevolution.
So, i suggest you read up on evolution. I had to study " world religion" and take standardized tests to graduate, i do know about evolution and have studied it.
@MrMilagroqq And she is attending college on a scholarship, pretty good for not being taught evolution. Also my good homeschooling friend got a scholarship for 80000 dollars to go to college(state school, not a private college), and they pay him for attending. Pretty good for not being taught evolution huh? All it boils down to is your: GPA, ACT/SAT score to attend college. Also in college they dont ask you to write papers on evolution unless you are an earth scientist.
@MrMilagroqq So no one needs evolution, since it is a little fleck in a vast universe of knowledge. And everyone knows what evolution is, it doesn't need to be explained in a book. Someone could tell you about it and BAM you know it. Evolution- How one species changed into another species through microevolution over a period of time. There, i never studied evolution, but just know it off the bat.
@aries4561 No, how species evolved into others through macroevolution, not microevolution (changes within species). A common Christian Creationist mistake. Microevolution is observable, we can see it throughout the world, and are not changes that help one species transition into another. So, Arises, you do not know it off the bat and you should really study it.
@kassklothes You keep saying that to people who disagree with you. Yes, we did learn ''proper research skills''. most homeschooling parents are fundamentalists who want to stop their children from learning truths such as evolution (which is a ''theory'', but in science that does not make it ''possibly not true''. Gravity is a theory but also true. So too is evolution). The fact that one of the homeschoolers in the videos mentions church, is a little revealing.
this video is very well put together.thanx 4 getting the truth out about homeschool.i have studied alot of stats concerning homeschool and the info presented in this vid is very accurate.homeschool kids often appear more mature than other kids because of the diversity in ages of people that they socialize with.that's actually a proven fact.the intelligence level of some of the nay sayers is questionable due to the fact that alot of them cant understand that u are reading off cue cards.
@bloodngutspatriot They shouldn't be confusing being robotic with being professional. There are plenty of people who are able to present a speech looking both professional and natural. Honestly, this was so poorly done that I barely heard anything they said. The camera kept cutting to different angles, making for a very choppy and distracting video. Eye contact, variance in pitch and tone, and occasional minor movement would have helped alot.
I think homeschooling is a good idea after elementary school. Obviously they're reading a script and they do not talk like this all the time. I'm against Christian homeschooling however, I think homeschooling your kids because you fear your children will get corrupted shows your insecurity in your faith. I'm buddhist so that may be a little bias but I was raised by a pastor and know many christian based homeschoolers and they're brainwashed.
@frogpollen Yeah, I think so too. I find it said that most homeschoolers are biased Christian parents who do not want their children to encounter other views to their own.
@Wodanaz But I was home schooled in High School, so I think as long as you have a good base to your education then you'll be fine. My problem is with the program most of homeschooling parents use. My dad made me use it in 9th grade and it was horrible. Switched-On Schoolhouse, I didn't learn anything that year.
This was an eerie video to watch because of how the two homeschooled people spoke -- very monotone and flat and devoid of warmth and personality. This is what homeschooling does to kids -- makes them monotone and devoid of personality and warmth. Socializing by attending public school from K to 12th grade is what cures this problem. These kids can't play on school sports teams, sing in the school choir, or be in the school plays. What prom do they go to? Or homecoming dance?
@fhood That is not true, homeschool kids have their own proms or go to friends'. As for sports and choir, many homeschool students are allowed to participate in high school choirs or sports teams. Yes, we were monotone but we had to because we had to keep continuity between shots so we couldn't be smiling in the first shot and blank in the second. Im "socialized" as well as any other public schooled child. Everywhere you go, high school, college, or homeschool, there are socially awkward people.
@fhood Your comment made me laugh. SCHOOL makes most kids monotone, devoid of personality and warmth. There are NON school sports teams and choirs and homeschool co ops have plays. And honestly, how many kids in high school skip homecoming? Homecoming is for the popular...
@fhood what a joke! Do you really think that public school kids are more socialized because they are in a building for 7/8 hours a day with other kids their own age!! lol
@fhood isn't it obvious to you that they are reading off a telepromter or something?i dont think they're claiming to be master thespians or anything,i think they're just trying to get their point across.
@fhood public school is not the only or best way to socialize a child. Look at the facts. I have been to high-school plays where the kids talk the same. That doesn't equate to personality, it is presentation skills. In addition, public school is an institutional environment, it was never meant to socialize. Get past assumptions and look at facts. Look at the successful people in history and now who have been very successful. Look at the academic success which is far above public school
@fhood I would like to say that I myself being a member of a homeschool group, was able to play on school sports teams for a Christian school in my area, there is a large homeschool choir, there is a drama class within the homeschool group as well as at my church, and there is a homeschool prom and a different homeschool dance.
@ Raintzproductions... your responses to the ignorant comments that have been posted here are very impressive in that they are TRUTHFUL responses and to they are certainly to the point without ever overstepping the lines of disrespect. Great job!
@DeconstructingGlenn We both are going to a community college now and when this video was made I (Kate) was going to a public school with 2200 students. Unless you are saying that a public school and a community college aren't "proper schools" you may need to revise your statement.
@RaintzProductions I'm glad that both of you have been attending school and have gone on to college. Honestly though, your video convinced me that people should not be home schooled.
You guys seem like smart, albeit strange, kids. If you had gone to a traditional school from the beginning I bet you guys would be at more competitive colleges.
To your parents: Homeschooling kids is a severe act of narcissism.
@DeconstructingGlenn Ryan and I will have an Associates Degree (him in engineering and me in business) Spring quarter and Ryan and I have both applied to University of Washington and our GPAs are above 3.85. We have also been smart and saved thousands of dollars by going to a community college first. So, tell me again why we should go to a more "competitive college" when we are going to UW that is ranked 41st of the top schools in the nation?
@RaintzProductions All people who do 2 years of CC should have that on their degree. As I've said its easy to get a very high GPA at CC it's almost like HS. I've come across a few people who got 4.0 GPA's at CC and were shocked when their GPA's dropped below 3.0. Simple fact is CC is a school for dummies.
Talking about a CC GPA is like talking about your HS GPA, the course work is so dumbed down, that a GAP is irrelevant.
@DeconstructingGlenn You are uninformed. Look at the facts that go beyond assumptions. There is nothing strange about these kids. I have seen worse presentation skills in public school kids. Your education obviously didnt teach you the meaning of narcissism. Public school: higher drop out rates, lower college enrollment, lower college gpa, lower income, higher drug use, teen pregnancy, suicide, depression...on and on. You obviously are unaware of successful people that are Homeschooled
@ryanjames731 True, Public schools have higher drop-out rates than home schools. The reason for this is clear; you can't drop out of home.
It's hard to find qualified teachers that work with home school students. More than likely they get there lessons from a group of home school parents. Professional teachers are trained in their respective subjects.
@DeconstructingGlenn You make uninformed replies. Yes, it is possible to drop out of and fail home-school. Go ahead and try to explain away, factually, all the other positive aspects of home-school.
@ryanjames731 I guess it's possible. But I'd like to see the mother that would kick her own child out of school. Comparing drop-out rates for public and home school, like you did, is meaningless. Knowledge and thinking skills are important. We need to get trained by experts NOT some random group of parents.
@DeconstructingGlenn - ROFL!! You REALLY need to research the subject before commenting. YOu've shown you have no clue. Most homeschool parents have a HIGHER education than that of the general public. Their value of education is the REASON they homeschool.
@DeconstructingGlenn - Oh, and public school teachers are NOT necessarily trained int heir subjects. Many are simply trained in "education" with no specific training. Also, my kids learned about law from the Bar Association, plants from the Master Gardeners, electricity from an Electrical Engineer, biology from a doctor, and anatomy from a nurse. Do you REALLY think a public school teacher could teach those subjects better?
@ryanjames731 There many successful home schooled kids. I've come across a few of them and they have NO social skills, a very warped perception of reality, poor critical thinking skills and they aren't any more advanced than any one else.
@Jospehporta = I've come across public school kids that have no social skills, a warped perception of reality, poor critical thinking skills, and they were behind others. Should I take that as indicative of the entire public school system?
@Jospehporta Ok, fine, I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class, top 10% of my college class, I was accepted to a respected university, given the Presidential Scholarship, given Admission with Distinction (top 10% of incoming students), and I was also accepted to the University of Washington. (Ryan has similar achievements) Ok, so am I still a "dummie?"
@RaintzProductions yes, hardly impressive. What were you studying, a BA no doubt. University of Washington is hardly an impressive school and getting in the top 10% of incoming students hardly makes you a brain. As Is aid if you had to go to Community College.......you know the rest.
@Jospehporta No, I went to a Community College because it saved me $9,000. I have a 3.9 GPA with 130 credits and an Associates Degree in Business Administration. The reason I went to a Community College was because I did Running Start which means I was in college at 16 years old. You will think I am ignorant no matter what I say even if I said I was going to Yale. So this is for all the other people who read this and will agree that I am not a "dummie".
@RaintzProductions That's the joke about this country's education system. The 1-2 years of college in America is what many western education systems teach in HS. Running Start doesn't impress me as the courses are simple and should be taught to everyone in HS.
Also if you are as brilliant as you make out to be, you should have easily been able to get a scholarship to University.
As I said CC is a joke anything less than a 4.0 means you aren't the brightest tool in the shed.
@Jospehporta I would be a little more impressed if you told us what level of education you have and where you went to school since you think education is so highly important. Oh, and one more thing, if you did in fact go to a college or university, aren't you supposed to accept others' points of view and who they are. Didn't anyone teach you that you don't have to go to Yale or Harvard to be smart. Take Bill Gates, Mark Zukerberg, and Steve Jobs for instance, they didn't complete college.
@RaintzProductions Accepting other points of view has nothing to do with going to college and I was Magna Cum Laude at Stanford majoring in Business. Buddy comparing yourself to Bill Gates or Steve Jobs is completely lame. They were actually very smart and incredibly driven, kind of like me.
@RaintzProductions - Don't waste your time answering ignorant people that do not WANT to learn. They have their beliefs, and no matter how much you prove them wrong, they want to stick to their dogma. Isn't it amusing how they accuse homeschoolers of that very thing?
@atwoods3 - Why? Jospehporta has provided no proof (s)he attended Stanford. However, I do run a Stanford EPGY program, and could check. That is, if jospehporta isn't so b@llless as to give details.
@thadthad, Only when they speak to God they speak in tongues. If you don't know what this, just start making gibberish noises or making up sounds and pretend your talking to God.
Your points fail when people learn that home-schoolers in the US are generally fundamentalist and thus are taught things that are not part of the standard curriculum and are potentially dangerous. Evolution is taught to be just a belief whereas Creationism is taught to be scientific, using methods that don't conform to science at all. Home-schoolers and public-schoolers do not arrive at the same point. Public schooler can make up their own minds, home-schoolers have them made up for them.
@Wodanaz - ROFL!! Do you REALLY believe that cr@p? Seriously? Even the public schools are now trying to get in on homeschooling. There are several states that now offer a public school at home online option. Geez, study the subject before posting. You're showing the lack of research skills the public schools taught you.
@kassklothes Why do you not do the research. Most homeschoolers are fundamentalist Christians or rabid right-wingers, more reason why homeschooling should be even more regulated.
@Wodanaz - Ah, so it is illegal to be Christian or "right wing" in the US. See, I did not realize that part. Please tell me when did this happen? I must have missed it in the news. Are we also outlawing the "left-wingers" or are they okay, and it's just those with opposing viewpoints from yours?
@FUCKyourGODmyth 6000 years! So the Earth was created at the time of the Uruk era of Mesopotamia...oh wait, that cannot be right!
Anyone notice that the Earth has been about 6000 years old, according to fundamentalist scholars, no matter how many years have base since they said it last? The Earth was 6000 years old 20 years ago, those 30 years ago etc.and yet it is the same now! So apparently a year has not really passed in those hundreds of years? Ridiculous.
@Wodanaz --- Instead of being taught the empirical facts of biology and geology, most home-schooled kids are brainwashed with [religious] dogma. Sorry folks, that's not education; that's child abuse!
@Yahwehsninja yup same here. when homescholers say they are smart well its kinda true i learned how to lie extremely well when i got caught cheating. ohhhh i learned how to be sneaky trying to steal the answers. yeah they lie we cheat and lie. and i have no friends because i have no social sklls. also i cant take tests yay himescooling does so much good
@aries4561 - There is little to no need to cheat when homeschooling. Why would you learn that? Also, it's usually the parents that homeschool the kids, so your parents must have been pretty bad. But I still do not see how public school would have cured that? Atlanta Public Schools are proof that cheating is rampant in public schools.
One thing I do agree with is the fact that you aren't held back while being homeschooled. I was able to advance as much as I was able to. I also agree that I had much more time to focus on my studies. However, I was also kept away from viewpoints on certain things that my very religious parents didn't agree with, and I think that's wrong. Homeschooling parents need to educate their children in both sides of an issue instead of telling them what to believe.
@blue4arekkusu I can certainly see some point in ...well, its quite limiting to say "both sides" of an issue, when most issues have far more than two sides. There are people who believe in neither Darwinian evolution, nor Christian creation. Nevertheless, you have a point. Consider however, how little "both" sides of an issue are presented in schools or our media. How many times do you see Iranians asked to comment on TV when they are being accused of attacking ships, planting IEDs, etc.?
With all due respect, please speak for yourself regarding the social aspect. My siblings and I were homeschooled until college, but socializing with any age group is very difficult for us. I didn't have my first friend until I was 14, and my siblings are older than I was then and they still have no friends. College was a nightmare the first 2 semesters because I simply wasn't used to so much socialization. I just hope my siblings don't have as much trouble as I did.
@blue4arekkusu Well, you can't conclude that your socializing problems are due to homeschooling. Many kids who go to school have problems socializing. Some of this kind of inclination is genetic, and many kids have trouble adjusting to the freedom of college. I was quite popular in both highschool and college, and I had problems adjusting to college. My daughter, unschooled, took to school and college "like a duck to water" when she went.
@blue4arekkusu - You need to learn to place blame properly. The homeschooling was not the reason you had problems socializing, your parents are why you are not able to socialize properly. The homeschooling was a symptom, not the cause.
WTF it doesn't matter if your a Christian or not if you were Jewish or Catholic it wouldn't matter that my friend is called discrimination and yes I'm cyber schooled I've been doing it for 2 years now and I love it and hate it at the same time but when it all comes down too it there's pros and cons about any type of schooling.
@0000vicky0000 Yes, we did say things off of a script. We had no other way to memorize our lines since we are not actors. We know the acting wasn't very well done.
Raintz, I was a homeschooling mom and support homeschooling. Next time, don't try to memorize lines. Organize your basic thoughts, and speak extemporaneously. This video...uh, reflects a little poorly on homeschoolers. It makes you both seem stiff and weird. Good effort, but keep improving.
@misskorkad2 I think you guys would have done better just saying what you thought from the top of your head, it would have given a more geniune appearing opinion to your vid if you had done so :) (I don't mean this in a condescending/preachy way)
@BillKiernan I can guarantee that is not true. I was in a public high school for 2 years, now I am in my second year of college.
I go swing dancing in the city until 2am 2x a week or more with a bunch of friends of all different or no religions. Would you deny that all of these things that I do are "socializing"?
As for "socialization" the word "social" means enjoying the company of others, such as friends.
Please try to get your misconceptions straightened out before you comment.
@RaintzProductions "Please try to get your misconceptions straightened out before you comment" my brother was homeschooled. ":I go swing dancing in the city until 2am 2x a week or more with a bunch of friends of all different or no religions" excellent. i'm glad you were able to go through homeschooling and not end up like my brother did, having to go through a painful and awkward reality check when he ended up going to public school/interact with non-christians.
@BillKiernan - You do not care with whom your children associate? I tend to want to know my children's friends and want to approve of them until the children are old enough to understand choosing friends wisely. Isn't that part of a parent's job?
@kassklothes as long as you're not enforcing that they only interact with christians, then sure, i agree. really the response of "raintzproductions" put me at total ease.
@BillKiernan So, from that comment, you must also think all parochial and private schools should be outlawed since they do not interact with other groups.
I am not thinking about socializing. I think you can have friends no matter where you go to school. I would be more concerned about what you were taught and what spin was put on it by your parents. Was this an education with a religious spin? If that is the case it was not an education in science and math but more of an education in theology. Learn what you want to learn but if religion was the major theme in your courses be wary of the spin and learn on your own. Good luck to you both!
Don't be discouraged by negative comments. The fact is that anything that doesn't conform to "the norm" (whatever that means) will be criticized and undermined. Hang in there!
Q. is it true that homeschool children believe what they have been taught is the only right way of thinking?
in homeschool you are surrounded by people who share your way of thinking, and you make friends based on values and morals you have in common.
but in public schools you are around people who do not share your morals or values but it teaches you that other peoples way of thinking are valid and to accept people regardless.
@AceofDimonds0 - Not at all. To some degree everyone believes the way they are thinking is the right way. If you are referring to religion, not all home schoolers are religious, it depends on what they think is right for their child. Perhaps public school wasn't the environment for a child so the parents decide to home school them. We have friends and such with similar beliefs but in society everyone tends to group with people of similar beliefs but surely aren't confined to it.
@AceofDimonds0 - Also we are not locked in our rooms, we don't only interact with home schoolers. We interact with anyone we come in contact with. Even now I am contacting you. It just depends on who you meet in life. We are taught other ways of thinking such as Evolution and such but we believe in Creation but we respect others beliefs. People post/say rude comments about our values but isn't that not accepting our morals and values? They accuse us of not accepting yet they do it to us.
@RaintzProductions " To some degree everyone believes the way they are thinking is the right way."
" We are taught other ways of thinking such as Evolution and such but we believe in Creation but we respect others beliefs."
I think those two comments are hinting at what people (non-homeschooled) have a problem with. The issue isn't what you believe, but *why* you believe it. Have you been told that evolution is "just another belief"? Can you see how that can be manipulative?
ALL OF MY STATEMENTS ARE TRUE AND HONEST. I AM NOT READING THESE STATEMENTS AS YOU CAN SEE BY MY EYES NOT MOVING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AS I REGURGITATE THESE PRE-FORMED STATEMENTS. I AM SOCIALIZED IN MANY WAYS. MY CRAZY EVANGELICAL PARENTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT I AM SAYING. I WILL NOT END UP AN UBER-SLUT OR A WEIRDO SEXUALLY REPRESSED DWEEB THAT IS A POTENTIAL THREAT TO THE SOCIETY IN WHICH I WILL BE RELEASED IN THE COMING YEARS.
@AceofDimonds0 - Public school children are taught to value different ways of thinking?? Really? Try that on for size with a public school teacher. Have one of their students tell the teacher his/her beliefs are wrong and see what happens.
if children are raised to be racists its not like they can just go out in the hall when the teacher is talking about martin luther king jr.
but if a child is being taught history by the person that raised them to be racist the adult or parent isnt going to teach the kid about anything that would go against what the parent has already taught them.
Someone told you guys that if you doubt one word of the bible, you are out, and you chose, so far, to believe that idea. There are plenty of Christians who believe very deeply in the value of Jesus' core teachings, who view a lot of the Bible - especially Old testament, as stories. Yes, a lot of things are based on what happened historically, but also different cultures have different creation stories - to explain to us "children" what is scientifically just too hard to comprehend
a bit too formal so both seem like robots when answering questions. It would have been better if there had been someone asking them questions. They need to relax a little, maybe that way they could speak without trying to use big words. It sounds like they memorized what they were saying.
We know that we were way too "robotic". It was our first video and we tried to make it the best we could. We are not actors. We did not memorize what we were saying. We tried very hard to make it the most though out we could because we knew many people would bash us if we just made off handed comments without thinking it through. (Even though we still get undesirable comments.)
Well, one thing you guys learned was to read off of those cards. This is a really wacky video. Home schooling is only to protect you from the reality of science and keep you believing biblical mythology.
No, I can tell you that is not true. I took Earth and Space Science as well as Biology in a public high school. Ryan is taking Chemistry in a community college and in the next few quarters I will be taking a science class we well. I/we were not protected from it. We saw both sides and we choose to believe in the Bible. (Read the comments below to see that the Bible is not "mythology.")
First of all, the Bible is not pure myth. It is historically accurate, there are places that have been found, so to say that it is pure myth is wrong. Second of all...hmm there's someone who can explain this better. Look up Brad Stine - Good News and you will know that the Bible is not "pure myth" and if you still do believe that it is myth then you are ignoring history.
We were taught about evolution as well as the Christian belief of science. Evolution is theory not fact. As for "real science" we are taught chemistry, geology, and all other specific sciences but we look at it through Christian eyes and not Agnostic eyes. We are taught the same things you are such as H2O is water and plants go through photosynthesis etc. but we don't believe that the earth was created from a "Big Bang".
There is a big error in your teachings, and i understand it is because you were taught through christian eyes. A theory is a collection of facts. You wouldn,t call the theory of gravity just a theory, would you?
Some theories have more data backing them up. It is easy to witness, measure, and experiment with gravity because it is part of our every day life. Creation only happened once a very long time ago, so there is no way to experiment with it or observe it. There is a big difference between the theory of gravity and the theory of evolution.
Thanks for your videos. I actually quoted you!

A parents responsibility is to prepare their offspring for the real world. Homeschooling is not the real world, interacting with kids older and younger with different ethnic backgrounds etc. is a microcosm of the real world.
MrMilagroqq 9 months ago
@MrMilagroqq - You interacted with children of other ages in public school?? When I went to public school, we were segregated by age, and since everyone was from the same area, they were all very alike with very little difference in ethnicities. What school did you attend?
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes yes, we interacted with kids of different age groups. on the bus for a hour and a half (i grew up in the country) with kid k-12, in school grades k-8 and high school 9-12. Also we had blacks, mexican, very few japenese ect ect ect. all the homeshcooled kids i know are bible thumpers, they don't learn sciences greatest achievement, that would be evolution. what part of homeschooling don't you get it's largely a xtian based excuse to keep children from growing up in the realworld
MrMilagroqq 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq - YOU don't get that it isn't like that. I homeschool my kids. They attend classes with kids that are from all socio-economic backgrounds. They actually discussed Hinduism with a family that practices it, Buddhism with a family that practices it, we were part of a group that was largely Islamic. What you don't get is that you are ill-informed, and busy listening to NEA soundbites. That isn't the basis for a well-rounded education.
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes Homeshooling isn't the basis of a well-rounded education, either, even when they are not fundamentalist Christian in nature (like the majority).
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq Indeed, and I find it ironic that they talk of segregation when most of them are more segregated than most school children. They have to learn in their house, and thus cannot socialize with a large group of people day by day, like people in public schools. Maybe most of the people are from the same ethnic background in schools, but you usually have a substantial group of students from minority backgrounds too. And the catch is that they get to socialize with them day by day.
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@Wodanaz ROFL!!! You REALLY have no clue what you are talking about!!! You've simply become funny now because you are so truly ignorant about the subject.
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes I interacted with children of different ages in school, it is what the playtimes are for. But putting people of vastly different ages in the same school is foolish because some minds are a little to young to study with, say, 16 year olds. Do you think, say, 14 year olds and 6 year olds should study together? How foolish!
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@Wodanaz - Oh, I get it now, you think that kids do not have playtime outside of school. You know, when I was in school, they repeatedly told me I was there for an education, not socialization. I guess that attitude has changed. That might explain the US's dismal ratings as far as primary education.

isn't homeschooling basically for overly religious nut jobs. If not then why don't they embrace sciences greatest discovery , evolution.
MrMilagroqq 9 months ago
@MrMilagroqq I'm home schooled and I'm not an overly religious nut job, I'm Irreligious and I believe in evolution.
iamknife7 9 months ago
@iamknife7 That's great, your not religious and believe in science. I'm afraid your in the minority, I think a child can get a terrific education through homeschooling, however the kids i'm familiar with are not being taught real science and their parents are entrenched in superstition, aka religion
MrMilagroqq 9 months ago
@MrMilagroqq - Wow! Are all public schooled people this ignorant, biased, and unable to do actual research?
kassklothes 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq - Why do you think homeschoolers do not embrace science? Why don't you do some actual research instead of reading the NEA talking points?
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes Can you provide me and many others with factual data, that would suggest homeschooling is not religious based. Again all the homeschoolers I know are religious, and again please show some real data indicating that homeschoolers are taught Darwin's theory of evolution aka real biology
MrMilagroqq 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq I do not know what state you live in, but from your answers it sounds like a farming state. You may know the homeschoolers from the country who live on farms, but if you go to a city, you will realize it's mostly not Christian. The homeschoolers i know are the ones who: got thrown out of public or private school, went to jail, are thiefs, and liars. There is not data, except if you go to the city (a real city) and see for yourself.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 I'm aware some home schoolers were thrown out of schools, but not the majority, this i'm sure of. Why does it bother you that home schooling is predominately xtians or other religious groups.
MrMilagroqq 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq ALSO most homeschool curriculum is based on God, not evolution, so homeschoolers are not taught evolution. BUT the same could be said for a 40000 dollar a year private school. My cousin goes to a Catholic school and it costs 60000 a year, I looked at the text book and it has no evolution in it at all. You don't need evolution to have a great education. She took calculus, AP chemistry, and a plethora of other advanced courses. No one needs evolution for education.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 Please find any noted scientist who did not learn evolution, biology does not exist without evo. You all really do need to grow up. Your using a computer and using all the other luxuries science has given you, and yet you deny it's greatest discovery EVO. So if you can't understand evo. that's fine, I don't totally understand gravity but i''m not to brainwashed to study and respect it. Again, use your computer skills and teach your children about evo. and forego the 6 day fuckfest
MrMilagroqq 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq You ignored everything i posted. Wow. Science CAN be taught without evolution. And Evolution has absolutely nothing to do with technological advancement. I already proved i know what evolution is, now you are evading the points. Evolution is a theory, not a fact. That's why it says in texts books "darwins theory of evolution," not fact of evolution. Still many discrepancies in something so simple.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 no biology can not be taught without micro and macro evolution, deal with it. Evolution is considered a fact with the onslaught of new discoveries. Why don't you check with the National Academy of Sciences, and quit farting around the science topic. You obviously don't understand science, the cosmos and evo and everything else is related. Only a fucking idiot would teach science without it's greatest discovery. And evo has everything to do with advancement. Watching bacteria evolv
MrMilagroqq 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq Yes, biology can be taught without evolution. Evolution is a myth, can not be proven (without false doctored up evidence). There are several people in the USA and the world who do not accept evolution as fact, and contribute to the scientific society. NAS is run by evolutionists, will not help out your argument. Do some research instead of listening to everybody, and you will realize man coming from apes is completely idiotic.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 Go back to homeschool, clown. Several people do not accept evolution as fact...but they are fundamentalists who believe that man was created by a magic spirit from dirt, that the world was just simply made in days by this same spirit and that the doctrine of hell is moral. Lets see, men coming from apes (who look similar to humans) is idiotic? But men being creating from dirt and dust is not? What an amusing world you live in!
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@Wodanaz No, people who not accept evolution are searching for the truth of the world. Evolution defies mathematical logic thus it can't be true. A greater being is more likely as thousands of people follow some sort of religion. No, catholic schools do NOT teach evolution, i have asked my friends all who attend catholic schools of some sort, and they despise the theory and do not teach it. Homeschooling only shuns theory's that defy their religion.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 Catholic school, whilst arguably religious based, teach things like evolution. In fact the church issued a statement that said that evolution was fact and offered an apology for early opposition to the theory. For Catholics this statement was nothing new, as the church had unofficially supported evolution for decades, which is why they included it in their curriculum. Homeschooling shields children from many different theories and ideas and is thus dangerous.
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@Wodanaz - Please post a link showing the Catholic Church has called evolution "fact". I can guarantee you cannot.
kassklothes 6 months ago
@Wodanaz As a matter of fact, i know atheist homeschoolers, your theory of "homeschooling shielding people" is flawed. People would rather educate their children in a safe environment than send them out into a place that goes against their morals. Why would a person who could take care of their child's education send them to a place of drugs, alcohol, and other immorality? Now, i know people who are like me, who grew up home schooling but don't have great morals.
aries4561 6 months ago
@Wodanaz people have their own choices, and whatever teenagers want, they will do when they are older. So get your facts straight. And in order for Macroevolution, microevolution must take place. Primordial slime did not turn into human over night did it? no it took a process of small changes. Did a monkey turn into a human instantly? no, it went through small changes Microevolution. macroevolution is used to base evolution as a whole, like how apes turned into humans CONT.
aries4561 6 months ago
@Wodanaz Or, how fish turned into lizards. but for the concept to take place, small changes had to take place. thus microevolution. Yes it changed species, through small changes within the species= microevolution.
So, i suggest you read up on evolution. I had to study " world religion" and take standardized tests to graduate, i do know about evolution and have studied it.
aries4561 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq And she is attending college on a scholarship, pretty good for not being taught evolution. Also my good homeschooling friend got a scholarship for 80000 dollars to go to college(state school, not a private college), and they pay him for attending. Pretty good for not being taught evolution huh? All it boils down to is your: GPA, ACT/SAT score to attend college. Also in college they dont ask you to write papers on evolution unless you are an earth scientist.
aries4561 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq So no one needs evolution, since it is a little fleck in a vast universe of knowledge. And everyone knows what evolution is, it doesn't need to be explained in a book. Someone could tell you about it and BAM you know it. Evolution- How one species changed into another species through microevolution over a period of time. There, i never studied evolution, but just know it off the bat.
aries4561 6 months ago
@aries4561 No, how species evolved into others through macroevolution, not microevolution (changes within species). A common Christian Creationist mistake. Microevolution is observable, we can see it throughout the world, and are not changes that help one species transition into another. So, Arises, you do not know it off the bat and you should really study it.
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@MrMilagroqq - Why? Didn't you learn proper research skills in public school?
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes You keep saying that to people who disagree with you. Yes, we did learn ''proper research skills''. most homeschooling parents are fundamentalists who want to stop their children from learning truths such as evolution (which is a ''theory'', but in science that does not make it ''possibly not true''. Gravity is a theory but also true. So too is evolution). The fact that one of the homeschoolers in the videos mentions church, is a little revealing.

this video is very well put together.thanx 4 getting the truth out about homeschool.i have studied alot of stats concerning homeschool and the info presented in this vid is very accurate.homeschool kids often appear more mature than other kids because of the diversity in ages of people that they socialize with.that's actually a proven fact.the intelligence level of some of the nay sayers is questionable due to the fact that alot of them cant understand that u are reading off cue cards.
prewrathrapture333 10 months ago
@bloodngutspatriot They shouldn't be confusing being robotic with being professional. There are plenty of people who are able to present a speech looking both professional and natural. Honestly, this was so poorly done that I barely heard anything they said. The camera kept cutting to different angles, making for a very choppy and distracting video. Eye contact, variance in pitch and tone, and occasional minor movement would have helped alot.
333Raina 10 months ago
I think homeschooling is a good idea after elementary school. Obviously they're reading a script and they do not talk like this all the time. I'm against Christian homeschooling however, I think homeschooling your kids because you fear your children will get corrupted shows your insecurity in your faith. I'm buddhist so that may be a little bias but I was raised by a pastor and know many christian based homeschoolers and they're brainwashed.
frogpollen 10 months ago
@frogpollen Yeah, I think so too. I find it said that most homeschoolers are biased Christian parents who do not want their children to encounter other views to their own.
Wodanaz 6 months ago
@Wodanaz - Yep, and we eat nasty little children for lunch, too. ROFL!!
kassklothes 6 months ago
@Wodanaz But I was home schooled in High School, so I think as long as you have a good base to your education then you'll be fine. My problem is with the program most of homeschooling parents use. My dad made me use it in 9th grade and it was horrible. Switched-On Schoolhouse, I didn't learn anything that year.
frogpollen 6 months ago
This was an eerie video to watch because of how the two homeschooled people spoke -- very monotone and flat and devoid of warmth and personality. This is what homeschooling does to kids -- makes them monotone and devoid of personality and warmth. Socializing by attending public school from K to 12th grade is what cures this problem. These kids can't play on school sports teams, sing in the school choir, or be in the school plays. What prom do they go to? Or homecoming dance?

KateScriptWriter 11 months ago
@fhood That is not true, homeschool kids have their own proms or go to friends'. As for sports and choir, many homeschool students are allowed to participate in high school choirs or sports teams. Yes, we were monotone but we had to because we had to keep continuity between shots so we couldn't be smiling in the first shot and blank in the second. Im "socialized" as well as any other public schooled child. Everywhere you go, high school, college, or homeschool, there are socially awkward people.
RaintzProductions 11 months ago 5
@fhood Your comment made me laugh. SCHOOL makes most kids monotone, devoid of personality and warmth. There are NON school sports teams and choirs and homeschool co ops have plays. And honestly, how many kids in high school skip homecoming? Homecoming is for the popular...
Nine00 10 months ago
@fhood what a joke! Do you really think that public school kids are more socialized because they are in a building for 7/8 hours a day with other kids their own age!! lol
TheBarby82 10 months ago
@fhood isn't it obvious to you that they are reading off a telepromter or something?i dont think they're claiming to be master thespians or anything,i think they're just trying to get their point across.
prewrathrapture333 10 months ago
@fhood public school is not the only or best way to socialize a child. Look at the facts. I have been to high-school plays where the kids talk the same. That doesn't equate to personality, it is presentation skills. In addition, public school is an institutional environment, it was never meant to socialize. Get past assumptions and look at facts. Look at the successful people in history and now who have been very successful. Look at the academic success which is far above public school
ryanjames731 9 months ago
@fhood I would like to say that I myself being a member of a homeschool group, was able to play on school sports teams for a Christian school in my area, there is a large homeschool choir, there is a drama class within the homeschool group as well as at my church, and there is a homeschool prom and a different homeschool dance.
gymdawgsrule100 8 months ago
@fhood That makes a lot of sense:
1. See two people, who were homeschooled, seem to talk in a monotone way in a video I saw.
2. Therefore, homeschooling makes everyone devoid of personality.

Jospehporta 7 months ago
@DeconstructingGlenn You are uninformed. Look at the facts that go beyond assumptions. There is nothing strange about these kids. I have seen worse presentation skills in public school kids. Your education obviously didnt teach you the meaning of narcissism. Public school: higher drop out rates, lower college enrollment, lower college gpa, lower income, higher drug use, teen pregnancy, suicide, depression...on and on. You obviously are unaware of successful people that are Homeschooled
ryanjames731 9 months ago
@ryanjames731 True, Public schools have higher drop-out rates than home schools. The reason for this is clear; you can't drop out of home.
It's hard to find qualified teachers that work with home school students. More than likely they get there lessons from a group of home school parents. Professional teachers are trained in their respective subjects.
DeconstructingGlenn 9 months ago
@DeconstructingGlenn You make uninformed replies. Yes, it is possible to drop out of and fail home-school. Go ahead and try to explain away, factually, all the other positive aspects of home-school.
ryanjames731 9 months ago
@ryanjames731 I guess it's possible. But I'd like to see the mother that would kick her own child out of school. Comparing drop-out rates for public and home school, like you did, is meaningless. Knowledge and thinking skills are important. We need to get trained by experts NOT some random group of parents.
DeconstructingGlenn 9 months ago
@DeconstructingGlenn - ROFL!! You REALLY need to research the subject before commenting. YOu've shown you have no clue. Most homeschool parents have a HIGHER education than that of the general public. Their value of education is the REASON they homeschool.

@DeconstructingGlenn - Oh, and public school teachers are NOT necessarily trained int heir subjects. Many are simply trained in "education" with no specific training. Do you REALLY think a public school teacher could teach those subjects better?

@Jospehporta No, I went to a Community College because it saved me $9,000. I have a 3.9 GPA with 130 credits and an Associates Degree in Business Administration. RaintzProductions 7 months ago
Jospehporta 7 months ago
@Jospehporta I would be a little more impressed if you told us what level of education you have and where you went to school since you think education is so highly important. Oh, and one more thing, if you did in fact go to a college or university, aren't you supposed to accept others' points of view and who they are. Didn't anyone teach you that you don't have to go to Yale or Harvard to be smart. Take Bill Gates, Mark Zukerberg, and Steve Jobs for instance, they didn't complete college.

@Wodanaz - Ah, so it is illegal to be Christian or "right wing" in the US. See, I did not realize that part. Please tell me when did this happen? I must have missed it in the news. Are we also outlawing the "left-wingers" or are they okay, and it's just those with opposing viewpoints from yours?
kassklothes 6 months ago
Okay, let's see how smart home-schoolers are.
What is the age of the earth?
FUCKyourGODmyth 1 year ago
@FUCKyourGODmyth 6000 years! So the Earth was created at the time of the Uruk era of Mesopotamia...oh wait, that cannot be right!
Anyone notice that the Earth has been about 6000 years old, according to fundamentalist scholars, no matter how many years have base since they said it last? The Earth was 6000 years old 20 years ago, those 30 years ago etc.and yet it is the same now! So apparently a year has not really passed in those hundreds of years? Ridiculous.
Wodanaz 1 year ago
@Wodanaz --- Instead of being taught the empirical facts of biology and geology, most home-schooled kids are brainwashed with [religious] dogma. Sorry folks, that's not education; that's child abuse!
FUCKyourGODmyth 1 year ago
@FUCKyourGODmyth Yes, it is child abuse. I hope this madness ends.

fuck this video. I was homeschooled let me tell you the truth
1. I am dumb as a rock cause cheating was easy as shit
2. I have no friends.

@Yahwehsninja yup same here. when homescholers say they are smart well its kinda true i learned how to lie extremely well when i got caught cheating. ohhhh i learned how to be sneaky trying to steal the answers. yeah they lie we cheat and lie. and i have no friends because i have no social sklls. also i cant take tests yay himescooling does so much good
aries4561 1 year ago

Homeschooling parents need to educate their children in both sides of an issue instead of telling them what to believe.
blue4arekkusu 1 year ago
@blue4arekkusu I can certainly see some point in ...well, its quite limiting to say "both sides" of an issue, when most issues have far more than two sides. There are people who believe in neither Darwinian evolution, nor Christian creation. Nevertheless, you have a point. Consider however, how little "both" sides of an issue are presented in schools or our media. How many times do you see Iranians asked to comment on TV when they are being accused of attacking ships, planting IEDs, etc.?
givebirthathome 1 year ago
@givebirthathome --- "Consider however, how little "both" sides of an issue are presented in schools or our media."
"Teach the controversy" is bullshit and smart people know it. Doubt what I'm saying? Imagine this ridiculous scenario:
Okay class, that's how biological evolution works. Now put away your textbook and get out your bible, we're going to learn how creationism works.
And after chemistry, we'll learn alchemy.
And after astronomy, we'll learn astrology.
FUCKyourGODmyth 1 year ago
With all due respect, please speak for yourself regarding the social aspect. My siblings and I were homeschooled until college, but socializing with any age group is very difficult for us. I didn't have my first friend until I was 14, and my siblings are older than I was then and they still have no friends. College was a nightmare the first 2 semesters because I simply wasn't used to so much socialization. I just hope my siblings don't have as much trouble as I did.
blue4arekkusu 1 year ago 2
@blue4arekkusu i feel your pain bro.........
Yahwehsninja 1 year ago
@blue4arekkusu Well, you can't conclude that your socializing problems are due to homeschooling. Many kids who go to school have problems socializing. Some of this kind of inclination is genetic, and many kids have trouble adjusting to the freedom of college. I was quite popular in both highschool and college, and I had problems adjusting to college. My daughter, unschooled, took to school and college "like a duck to water" when she went.
givebirthathome 1 year ago
@blue4arekkusu - You need to learn to place blame properly. The homeschooling was not the reason you had problems socializing, your parents are why you are not able to socialize properly. The homeschooling was a symptom, not the cause.
kassklothes 6 months ago
WTF it doesn't matter if your a Christian or not if you were Jewish or Catholic it wouldn't matter that my friend is called discrimination and yes I'm cyber schooled I've been doing it for 2 years now and I love it and hate it at the same time but when it all comes down too it there's pros and cons about any type of schooling.

@0000vicky0000 Yes, we did say things off of a script. We had no other way to memorize our lines since we are not actors. We know the acting wasn't very well done.

@RaintzProductions

"when i go to friends houses, parties, or church, all of which are sanctioned and pre-screened to be christian....." that's not "socialization".
BillKiernan 1 year ago
@BillKiernan I can guarantee that is not true. I was in a public high school for 2 years, now I am in my second year of college.
I go swing dancing in the city until 2am 2x a week or more with a bunch of friends of all different or no religions. Would you deny that all of these things that I do are "socializing"?
As for "socialization" the word "social" means enjoying the company of others, such as friends.
Please try to get your misconceptions straightened out before you comment.
RaintzProductions 1 year ago
@RaintzProductions "Please try to get your misconceptions straightened out before you comment" my brother was homeschooled. ":I go swing dancing in the city until 2am 2x a week or more with a bunch of friends of all different or no religions" excellent. i'm glad you were able to go through homeschooling and not end up like my brother did, having to go through a painful and awkward reality check when he ended up going to public school/interact with non-christians.
BillKiernan 1 year ago
@BillKiernan - You do not care with whom your children associate? I tend to want to know my children's friends and want to approve of them until the children are old enough to understand choosing friends wisely. Isn't that part of a parent's job?
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes as long as you're not enforcing that they only interact with christians, then sure, i agree. really the response of "raintzproductions" put me at total ease.
BillKiernan 6 months ago
@BillKiernan So, from that comment, you must also think all parochial and private schools should be outlawed since they do not interact with other groups.

Darkrunner1975 1 year ago
I am not thinking about socializing. I think you can have friends no matter where you go to school. I would be more concerned about what you were taught and what spin was put on it by your parents. Was this an education with a religious spin? If that is the case it was not an education in science and math but more of an education in theology. Learn what you want to learn but if religion was the major theme in your courses be wary of the spin and learn on your own. Good luck to you both!

THE REAL ANSWERS:
1.) Are you socialized? No. And I noticed the difference in communication. *And the girl is STILL talking
2.) Are you really smart? Well...book smart, obviously.
3.) Do you go anywhere? The zoo at 11 in the morning! The full experience!!! WOW!!!!!! I was missing out.
Well, kudos for trying. It would have been somewhat more convincing had you both been speaking 'naturally'.

Q. is it true that homeschool children believe what they have been taught is the only right way of thinking?
in homeschool you are surrounded by people who share your way of thinking, and you make friends based on values and morals you have in common.
but in public schools you are around people who do not share your morals or values but it teaches you that other peoples way of thinking are valid and to accept people regardless.
AceofDimonds0 1 year ago
@AceofDimonds0 - Not at all. To some degree everyone believes the way they are thinking is the right way. If you are referring to religion, not all home schoolers are religious, it depends on what they think is right for their child. Perhaps public school wasn't the environment for a child so the parents decide to home school them. We have friends and such with similar beliefs but in society everyone tends to group with people of similar beliefs but surely aren't confined to it.
RaintzProductions 1 year ago
@AceofDimonds0 - Also we are not locked in our rooms, we don't only interact with home schoolers. We interact with anyone we come in contact with. Even now I am contacting you. It just depends on who you meet in life. We are taught other ways of thinking such as Evolution and such but we believe in Creation but we respect others beliefs. People post/say rude comments about our values but isn't that not accepting our morals and values? They accuse us of not accepting yet they do it to us.
RaintzProductions 1 year ago 2

Have one of their students tell the teacher his/her beliefs are wrong and see what happens.
kassklothes 6 months ago
@kassklothes
if children are raised to be racists its not like they can just go out in the hall when the teacher is talking about martin luther king jr.
but if a child is being taught history by the person that raised them to be racist the adult or parent isnt going to teach the kid about anything that would go against what the parent has already taught them.
AceofDiamonds0 6 months ago
@AceofDimonds0 - Public schools teach children to consider other people's beliefs as valid?? When's the last time you were in a school?
kassklothes 6 months ago
Someone told you guys that if you doubt one word of the bible, you are out, and you chose, so far, to believe that idea. There are plenty of Christians who believe very deeply in the value of Jesus' core teachings, who view a lot of the Bible - especially Old testament, as stories. Yes, a lot of things are based on what happened historically, but also different cultures have different creation stories - to explain to us "children" what is scientifically just too hard to comprehend
PeterOzanne 1 year ago
a bit too formal so both seem like robots when answering questions. It would have been better if there had been someone asking them questions. They need to relax a little, maybe that way they could speak without trying to use big words. It sounds like they memorized what they were saying.
legenddart 2 years ago
We know that we were way too "robotic". It was our first video and we tried to make it the best we could. We are not actors. We did not memorize what we were saying. We tried very hard to make it the most though out we could because we knew many people would bash us if we just made off handed comments without thinking it through. (Even though we still get undesirable comments.)
RaintzProductions 2 years ago
Well, one thing you guys learned was to read off of those cards. This is a really wacky video. Home schooling is only to protect you from the reality of science and keep you believing biblical mythology.
subconcioussongsvid 2 years ago
No, I can tell you that is not true. I took Earth and Space Science as well as Biology in a public high school. Ryan is taking Chemistry in a community college and in the next few quarters I will be taking a science class we well. I/we were not protected from it. We saw both sides and we choose to believe in the Bible. (Read the comments below to see that the Bible is not "mythology.")
RaintzProductions 2 years ago
Not so! I am an agnostic, and I plan on homeschooling. I plan on presenting facts to my kids.
Treemeadow 1 year ago
Evolution is theory not fact. Ok fine let's say you are correct. So is gravity??? anyways
What about bible, that is a PURE MYTH
kingofthenight1 2 years ago
First of all, the Bible is not pure myth. It is historically accurate, there are places that have been found, so to say that it is pure myth is wrong. Second of all...hmm there's someone who can explain this better. Look up Brad Stine - Good News and you will know that the Bible is not "pure myth" and if you still do believe that it is myth then you are ignoring history.
RaintzProductions 2 years ago
Were you taught real science, ie evolution?
cujomade101 2 years ago
We were taught about evolution as well as the Christian belief of science. Evolution is theory not fact. As for "real science" we are taught chemistry, geology, and all other specific sciences but we look at it through Christian eyes and not Agnostic eyes. We are taught the same things you are such as H2O is water and plants go through photosynthesis etc. but we don't believe that the earth was created from a "Big Bang".
RaintzProductions 2 years ago
So, yes we were taught real science meaning Chem and Physics not Evolution, though we were able to learn about the theory of Evolution.
RaintzProductions 2 years ago
There is a big error in your teachings, and i understand it is because you were taught through christian eyes. A theory is a collection of facts. You wouldn,t call the theory of gravity just a theory, would you?
cujomade101 2 years ago
Some theories have more data backing them up. It is easy to witness, measure, and experiment with gravity because it is part of our every day life. Creation only happened once a very long time ago, so there is no way to experiment with it or observe it. There is a big difference between the theory of gravity and the theory of evolution.
Futur391 2 years ago
When it comes to the scientific method there is no difference. A theory in science holds the same standard of truth.
cujomade101 2 years ago
Thanks for this, it is really enlightening!
