do you know a way to make them go into a small box formation (not defensive mode) cuz he happened to me online erlier and they took out a 5 later wall in seconds they were like in 2-4 spaces and they were 50 on them... any ideas ?
Guys, stop saying that other units can easily kill oprichniks, because we already know that. Oprichniks aren't supposed to be used to fight units, they're only used for raiding. The real army cavalry of the Russians are Cossacks. Sure they aren't that strong but with a good economy, a russian player can spam Cossacks and/or Oprichniks indefinitely. Numbers, gentlemen, is the strength of the Russians in AOE3.
Opries are awesome if you sneak em in while two armies clash somewhere else. If you get them to guard and upgrade cav damage vs buildings with the advanced arsenal they destroy plantations and mills in seconds.

no they lose to cav, they lose to heavy inf all they have is good siege and a multiplier vs settlers and they fare decently well vs artillery . so they pwn everything except soldiers and cav?
but i have to say using your main force as a distraction. and sneaking in 10-15 oprinichs (or however its spelt) is just OP :D
so this is recorded with fraps? pretty good quality, can you tell me how you record it? like if you use a mic or does it just record all the sound of the computer or what? and how do you edit the footage? windows movie maker??...thx
well what do fraps is record the sound of the comp and u dont need mic (record the sound of the game and u dont have to add it after), now fraps give u a good quality of video, but it heavy so u can compress it with windows movie maker that's what i do for my videos

they were backed up by two monks with area of effect spells... but that was it... cavalry, pike, musketeers all fell to my exalted samurai

Try them against some Imperial field guns, protected by a shield of doppelsodners..
Also, I actually managed to take 5 of them with 5 of my imperial Gendarmes, they weren`t backed up by monks, though.
