  • the loco is nice, but very expensive at $ 22,000! I wish is was not so expensive :-(

  • What is the third track for?

  • @moleman1961 To my knowledge (which aint very vast) its allows a smaller gauge loco to run on the same tracks e.g. 5 inch and 7 1/4 inch

  • how big is the 7 1/4 version ?

  • it looks big for a 5"

  • jack is called lily :P

  • The fully machined kit is £9,239-00 including VAT.

  • How can you get so much money

  • Great little engine. Can you order an engine like this with a different livery and name?

Sorry i deleted your comment by accident!

Yes no problem pick a colour and we will paint it! anything you want!

  • There is no difference in price to the five inch as they are both pretty much hand built! the prices are on the maxitrak website.

  • poo

  • very nice indeed. how much more would it cost to engineer the same locomotive so its larger? to run on 7 1/4". I'm aware that this engine is available for both gauges but looks too small for 7 1/4" imho.

  • The scale 7 1/4" would be almost half full size which is a bit big for us! we might do it in the future!

  • where did you get the coal on

and where do u get the water from

  • Coal is on the driving truck, there is a well tank on the engine and extra water in a tank on the riding car.

  • We sell coal 20Kilos delivered anywhere in the UK for £20-00 "Maxitrak"

  • which is a more comfortable size, 5" gauge or 7 1/4" gauge?

  • A kit price of just over 9 grand is excellent value for a top of the range loco of this type. Smaller 5" gauge steam engines are made by this company for around 3K.

You can buy a car for this kind of money but in a few years it is worthless, an engine keeps it's value.

  • you make one!

Then came back and we will discuss! I think you under estimate the time and effort that goes in to them.

They are pretty much one off's hand built and fully painted and lined.

  • I understand ok, I undertsand the boilers fittings, brass plates, all the engieneering. I was just a bit shocked when I saw the price of Jack, just hadnt seen the price in a long time. I just wished that they could be cheaper. Because, not to be rude, I dont have and not a lot of people have 12000 to just on steam loco. theyre beautiful engines though, but seriously, i didnt mean to be rude or mean, I was just asking a question! seriously, the day I have £12000 to spend on what i like, ill buy on

  • the loco cost more than £12000, yes, no kidding over £12000!!!!!!!!! not £1200, certnly not £120 but£12000!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just to complicate the issue, we do a 7 1/4" Version!!

    I'll shut up though!! :P

  • i know, but can you explain to me why theese steam locos are so expensive to manufacter, dont you think £12000 is a bit steep?

  • small for a 7 1/4

    but very very nice

  • its "5 read the title you fool

  • ohhh, sorry.

    I didnt read it.

I jsut saw the one of the website, and asumed it was 7 1/4.

  • What a sweet little loco, great for any railway! :)
