I actually think the whole squid thing wouldn't have fit into the movie as well as it did in the book. I know that's how it's supposed to be, but still...and since it was live-action it would've looked kind of silly. And besides that I think the movie totally captured the essence, and feel of the graphic novel. :)

This thus ends the war and counties unite to go after the REAL Manhattan. Manhattan of course goes to Mars again at the end of the novel. War is over..

In the graphic novel, Instead of just blowing up the city like in the movie, the guy teleports this huge squid creature he created into the city, and the teleportation unleashes this huge psionic pulse that destroys everything.
