  • I had a college professor who has a similar effect on me, an effect that really stood out for me my whole time I was in school. Whul does it here in this show.

  • If only teachers were allowed to teach like this outside of a TV special. If someone tried this in a normal class, they'd be fired first day. Sadly, teaching isn't teaching anymore, it's regurgitation of a state standardized curriculum that has been watered down so as to not insult anyone.

  • Thankx for the post loved this and 201...he's AWESOME teacher ...

  • The girl at 3:53 looks a lot like one of my classmates in my 5th period highschool class.

  • Very well styled teacher. I really wonder if he did this original oratory or extemporary speech with notes. It really seems very rehearsed, and I'm guessing mostly original oratory. It's very difficult to just come up with all of this on your feet. A man who knew Bob Hope once told me that Hope couldn't do anything off the top of his head, but he made rehearsed lines seem that way, which was a remarkable ability.

  • "History is a wonderful thing if only it were true" That quote is sticking with me for a long time after this show

  • I want more of these videos! I love this series.

  • i wish he would do a show called DO WE REALLY HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO LEADS US? or a president who is told what to say and do and even wear in the freaking morning. that would be a great show and funny to find out that half of the americans we see everyday are aliens from outer space. lol and my mother in law really is bigfoot. making my wife half bigfoot and my kids a quarter bigfoot. lol what do you call a female bigfoot ?? answer is snatchquatch. lol

  • When I think of Pop Culture, I think of George Washington

  • want to know the funny thing about assume? its the certain fact that it makes an ass out of u and me ass/u/me

  • what's the point of this lecture... learning anything you don't already know?

  • @warlockboyburns

I doubt many people know Israel Bissel was the true rider, my own AP class says it was Revere.

  • i don't agree i think food is better when you pay for it

  • This man can not make his point with out a steady stream of foul language. He lost me in part 2 when he began lambasting the Founding Fathers.

  • @JillDormanHemperly i understand your point. but maybe not you but a lot of kids needs a attention getter to get their attention of course and to find history of all subjects interesting. i used to read a history book over and over and still i couldnt tell you what the hell i just read. untill they came up with shows like biography channel or history channel or movies based on the facts. i would have gone to college as a history major then. but i didnt i drove spikes for a living godbless

  • @JillDormanHemperly True. But remember that these are college students and they don't have to sit and listen. But those that engage this way, learned something. Everyone's teaching and learning style is different.

  • @thdju Same here.

  • fuck teachers

  • I think I'm in love with this man.

  • sting colombis is HOT!!!

  • damn i love this shit i wanna know when the third episode is

  • I wish teachers taught like this. He held my interest and remembered what I learned.

  • This is great, sad part is that all of this is true

  • well at least people are finally SAYING it! that much we can be grateful for. people like this guy can slowly, and literally, rewrite history.

  • when the legend becomes fact PRINT the LEGEND ! haha what a great quote .!!!

  • @btkeeza33 That's the quote that's on my facebook & myspace pages

  • I never even heard of this guy before my friend told me he was a funny guy.

  • The entire POINT of the show is that you shouldn't believe everything you're told about history.

  • If you actually take the time to study some history, you would find that this is all true. Kinda scary the lies we are taught in school.

  • I have taken the time. I'm leaving it at that.

  • I am fascinated by the premise of this program

  • This video is Fucking freakin funny

  • Its even better in person. Saw it last year in Mississippi. Great

  • assume the position with Steven Atkins. (it means sex)!

  • i agree they should make a sires i would watch it i think this little t.v. class is great public high schools should learn something from the way this guy teaches he able to get u interested in things u might not normaly be interested in

  • That class has some extremely beautiful women in it.

  • How come there weren't anymore episodes besides 101 and 201? This would have been a hell of a series and people would have learned so much

  • i love this stuff, i saw it on hbo a while back

  • im not real big on history and all but if this guy right here was my teacher i would LOVE going to his class!!!!! LOL

  • stumbled upon

  • me too

  • Can someone load the sequel to this: Assume the Position 201

    i love this

  • I love this show, if all the teachers were like this, people would LOVE getting up at 6 a.m. for school!

  • amen!!!!

  • "The one thing history teaches, is that man learns nothing from history..!"

    Hegel...

  • imagine if we had real teachers like this on a everyday basis......be back on top as a leading country in education.....

  • You have no idea how much smarter america would be.

  • Eh, not nearly enough content for the amount of time he took.

  • hell ya!

  • It's one thing to memorize facts and another to make you think.

  • ya i see what you mean..... "on a everyday basis"? I don't think he teaches grammar...

  • cool lecture
