thinking a tomb is bought by the familys way in advance of death.. so Jesus name could be there on a box, however I would suggest that thoses names would become very popular once people knew and followed Christ.. an entire family could even change their first names, as in the case of renaming the saved to reflect who they now are... such as peters and paul were renamed.. And,another thought John was like a little brother or son.. to Jesus.so, if real , it could reflect john the beloved of Jesus

@Yejezquel LOL, yea, someone is walking out. That reminds me, years ago I used to fight wildland fires. One time I shot a picture of a hillside completely engulfed in fire. When I got the pictures back (before digital LOL) I was looking at them and one picture had the perfect silhouette of a man in the middle of the fire. I was very freaked out by it. I returned to that place at a later time and found out it was a shooting range and the metal silhouette of a man was still standing there :-)
@ancienthebreworg Hehehe, ok,same happened with someone of my familiy, she took a picture in Egyptian tombs and a weird face appeared in the photo. But this picture seems like a rabbi with a tie, and it seems pretty big to say that someone is walking out, it looks like a frame picture :D
@ancienthebreworg Mr Brenner, I gotta say, I praise God for you and your work. Your work is gluing a lot of things together for me, that I have been searching for a while... Im sure im not alone in this. Thank you for obeying the Father.
I was wondering, do you have any info or thoughts on the "theory" that the Hebrew were once a global people, with the bits of pre-Columbus archaeological evidence all over the continental US etc. I feel sure their History has been manipulated like the rest
@canadianbacon007 The only problem I have with this "I am" is that that is what is in the Greek. But since it was first written in Hebrew or Aramaic it can't say that, instead it says "I am he." Now, what the heck does that mean?"
@canadianbacon007 Continued... I guess I should explain my last question a little better. The Hebrew reads "aniy hu" (I am he). The question is, who does he mean by "he" that existed before Abraham. I will give you my opinion, I believe whenever Yeshua speaks he is speaking for the Torah, so when he says, I am the way, truth and life, he is really saying, the Torah is the way, truth and life (btw, the Torah says that the torah is the way truth and life.) So, I thinkt he "he" is Torah.
@ancienthebreworg What is this Hebrew you speak of? Let me clarify - what text? I have heard of the Peshitta, but understand this to be in Aramaic. I like what you're doing with this series, but do you have one that explores/explains different NT manuscripts, and the role of the Peshitta in getting closer to the words of Yeshua?
@4trahasis In this series I am sticking with the Hebrew of the OT and the Greek for the NT. But, aside from that, I am convinced the NT was written in either Hebrew or Aramaic, both being similar Semitic languages, and not in Greek. The Greek translations of these semitic texts bring improper interpretation of the text.
In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God.
@canadianbacon007 I of course am not part of the LDS, but I have friends who are and in some cases the LDS get things right. I have found the same is true with JWs, they get some things right too, as do other Christians. I have concluded that each Christian denomination has grasped some truth.
@ancienthebreworg Heaven is eternal life with God; communion of life and love with the Trinity and all the blessed. Heaven is the state of supreme and definitive happiness, the goal of the deepest longings of humanity. Its location is not physical, but the ancients often used the metaphor of heaven being up.
@LVCIVSTVLLIVSATELLVS Do you have some verses that clearly show this concept? Specifically using the word "heaven?" This would really help me with my research. Thanks.
@LVCIVSTVLLIVSATELLVS Only in one of the latest books of the Old Testament, Daniel, does a belief in an afterlife emerge clearly. Perhaps Israel focused itself so strongly on the covenant with the 'now-community' that it had little room for wondering how that bond could be continued after death. I would recommend reading Dn 12, especially v2, I would also read 2 Macc 6:18-7:42, paying special attention to what the 7 brothers and mother say
@LVCIVSTVLLIVSATELLVS Thank you for the references, I will look into them. Dan 12:2 is already part of my research. Actually, the first clear reference to an afterlife is in Genesis, but it is often overlooked. I will speak about this in my next video.
@ancienthebreworg What part of Genesis? Remember, the formation of the Pentateuch took place over hundreds of years. Depending on what part of Genesis it was, it could reflect ancient or more modern Jewish Theology.
@LVCIVSTVLLIVSATELLVS I don't want to say as that will spoil the next video (big grin). But I don't think this is a later addition as it is too subtle for that.
@onimotoko This is part two of a series (which is not yet complete) on heaven and hell and the first place to start is at death and some of the points in this video is background for upcoming parts.
Ya know, I'll bet the ones who created the storybooks that religious people go by are more than willing to confuse and manipulate and kill anyone who tries to say otherwise...example: I mentioned how Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed and Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of something. Some say salt, and I begged the idea of a blast that would super-dehydrate a human into salt, like a nuclear strike. My Christian friend said there was no way that could happen. Anyone? Thoughts?
@Pfsif I don't think you could call it a scam, it is all about how you interpret the inscriptions. The names on the ossuaries are common first century Hebrew names, but some have suggested to have these combinations and not be the figures of the Bible is statistically impossible. Not saying I agree, just saying what some are saying. As for DNA, I think I heard that there wasn't any bones, or not enough, or too old, to do a DNA test.
Thank you Jeff for all your videos, especially this Heaven and Hell serial. I've started to learn ancient Hebrew myself, so that i could enjoy the Word of God on a higher level... For me, this is the best channel on Youtube... Greetings from Serbia ( If you've ever heard of it :-) )
Okay, I new better when I clicked on this to begin with. I'm waiting until " -? " is finished, so I can watch them all together. I always hated cliffhangers. :oP
It seems a shame to end on that note - giving occasion to the critics, who watch this, who may not bother to wait for any explaination which you may give as to the controversial family tomb mentioned at the end and why it is not the grave of the Lord Jesus. Will you give such explanation in a video to come?
@SemiticPhilologist I may do a video on this ossuaries at a later time, but I thought I would introduce them into this video just so people are aware of these ossuaries and the controversy. Personally I do not believe the Talpiot ossuaries are of Yeshua and his family and the second half of the James Ossuary is a forgery, but these are just my opinion.
@xXDominoXx The inscription that reads Yeshua bar Yehoseph is not readable so I can't vouch for the spelling. The inscription reading Ya'acov bar Yeshua is clearly Yeshua (ישוע). In the Aramaic Peshitta (4th C AD) the name of the Messiah is spelled ישוע. The name on the James Ossuary is the same, Yeshua (ישוע). The earliest manuscript evidence of his name is Yeshua (ישוע), not Yehoshua (יהושע).

(Genesis 25:17) Jeff
. . .Then he expired and died and was gathered to his people. . .
How do you think this expression fits?
dunklaw 10 months ago
Speaking of death and burial.(our perception of it) we read,
"before Abraham was, I Am" Those words put a whole new "twist" on things for some.
Incidentally, it was never disclosed just "how much" before Abraham He was.
I suspect it was less than some imagine.

We (LDS) read John 1 as,
In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.

@ancienthebreworg his tomb wouldn't say Yeshu(ישו) anyway, that's an Acronym for Yemach shemow W-zikhrow
unless the pharisees appointed the name for his burial in place of his real name which would be Yahshua, that's not him
