  • Yup, if our hands were all busy playing the drums, they would be too busy to hold any violent weapons!

  • great!

    well done all.

  • it's great. Support the idea=)

  • Nice idea! very peaceful! NO WAR!

  • excellent video. love it!

  • Darfur,Sudan!! Are Government don't care, there is nothing there of value to them. And famous people us these opportunities for camera time.We go to war with countries that are not in dire need of us.Good old Democrat and Republicans that don't care about the poor and struggling here in the US,there really not going to shed a tear for them.

  • get off your ass and go there..somalia,kenya,sudan check it out I HAVE BEEN THERE

  • wow this is awesome we really all need to do this just clap if u have to

  • Fantastico

  • guns. stop the traffic of guns. there must be one or two gun dealers on the region. put them under the spotlight and Sudan might run out of ammunition... and guns of course. No guns, no way to have an army, no way to control the people.

  • tat is a kick ass video and it sends a great message

  • Exelente!!

  • i love this video :)

  • Being some one who closely follow events around the world, I have always aruged that the western countries try to portray them self as if they care for people who are suffering due to civil war or oppressions. But the truth of the matter is they are opportunists who are trying to seize major oil sources to pump up their economies in the name of Democracy. This is self evident in Iraq, Afghanstan, DRC, Sierra Leone, Sudan etc.

  • What a great way to let us all know what is happening, and how we all can join to make things better!

    Thank you for this!

    Roeleke

  • c'est vraiment bien fait.... Je n'ai pas tous comprit des trucs écrit en anglais, mais j'ai compris en gros... Je vais allé voir sur le site qu'il ndique a la fin..En espérent que ce ne soit pas en anglais ^^"

  • why are we all so naive

  • Well done! Why do people tolerate power hungry people that will stop at nothing to gain or keep it? This is true of most nations, unfortunately. If we are so smart why do we follow without question?

  • Viva Mexico Cabrones!!!

  • One Love :)

  • this is a very good way to raise arareness *__* very nice

  • wonderful and beautiful

  • Nice video bringing hope.

  • very cool

  • this is amazing. Makes me proud to be human when I see how we can pull together like this.

  • Evelyn Glennie turned deaf at the age of 12. She is a truly fascinating bass player.

  • Watch this space

    From Durham UK

    We made our video today

And wish solidarity and hope to those for whom this referendum could be the beginning of a brighter future

  • I'm a didg player myself but the drum is the heartbeat of world like music is the langridge,,respect to the peace makers

  • EPIC VID! and a great cause 2. Hopefully it might lead to some action and save thousands of lives.

  • Muito original, muito bonito.

    Muitos parabéns

    Abraço

    José Serpa

  • Reminds me of Royksopp

  • Let's be civil, shall we? This is a great way to raise awareness: let's spread it around! Get the views up.

  • this is lovely! God bless you for supporting/promoting peace

  • Well done!! Omg!! Caroline Corr!! Just love her!! She's my fav at all <33 GO GO CAROLINE

  • The goal is right, the music sucks.

  • it is a very powerful vid with a beautiful message. but im pretty sure that there are people who know about this problem but, i think they just dont care, and it sucks. what a shame that we as a race can come together for something like music but, we cant seem to come together to end voilence and killing. not saying this wasnt a good attempt to raise awareness, but, i believe that if we are really going to stop this maddness in sudan (and the world!) we gotta stop making music videos and ACT!!!

  • At first I was thinking: "Hmmm... not sure how much difference YouTube is really going to make, but best of luck to them!" - But this IS the sort of thing that gets popular support, and popular support does influence Western leaders, so hopefully they will speak up and get involved... :)

  • amazing! good job!

  • Excellent idea, I'll see what I can do but have no sense of rhythm. I'll definately retweet this.

  • I go Sudan every 2 years and it is no where as bad as the Media make it out.

  • here what they can can do stop been fools

    and learn from the past

and try talking instead of going round killing each other

  • this is great idea and superb video :))

  • peace

  • Brilliant video. Sudan365 activists must be positive and encourage African Unity not Balkanisation of Africa. South Sudan, in fact any part of Sudan, can have the right of cessation. Western world seems to be encouraging South Sudan to split with an eye for the lucrative oil fields that are currently being harvested by Chinese, Malaysian and Indian. I am praying for Sudan to remain united despite the massive challenges.

  • I am Pan Africanist. If Sudan splits, there will be continuous wars in South and North. It won't be international war between two countries; it will be internal civil wars between minorities about perceived injustices. E.g. Nuer against Dinka, Bari against Dinka in the South and Fur against Arab in Darfur and Beja against Nile tribes in the North.

  • Sudan365 Drummers and everyone should encourage the South not to split. The world should encourage Sudan to have democratic election this April. The repressive regime of the NCP has improved recently culminating in the CPA in 2005 but is likely to be defeated if there are real democratic elections in April 2010.

  • Sudan may then have its first Southern president. We will love this to be Salva Kiir. He will provide stability for the whole country and will maintain and develop the massive development programme that SPLM and NCP have implemented in the last 5 years. Then Sudan may remain united which will bode well for Chad, Nigeria, Niger, Cameroun, Kenya and other African countries who all have gunpowder mix populations split between either Muslims- Christians-animists or rich-poor, just like Sudan.

  • We have seen Eritrea splitting from Ethiopia and the disastrous results for both, especially Eritrea. By the way, the Drummers video is brilliant. Minor criticism, it should have had drummers from Khartoum, Nyala in Darfur, Port Sudan in eastern Sudan and Dongola from Nubian northern Sudan. However, the Sudanese drummers in Juba and Munir, the Sudanese-Egyptian Nubian Superstar in Cairo have done a good job.

  • FIVE STARS -FAB

  • good concept... lets give peace a chance :)

  • All we are saying is Give Peace a Chance!

  • that was AWSOME!!!!!

  • As much as I appreciate the idea!!. But peace is not the problem, peace might be what we all want in the World but it's not going to happen. Evil rotten people are the problem, and until we remove the Evil Rotten people there will be no peace. And how do we remove the Evil Rotten people you ask? not by beating drums ) : It will take Military support to bring justice. Evil Rotten people do not bow down to the beat of a drum ) : but It's a good thought though.

  • That touched me - I will try to make a beat response - not sure how to yet - ChrisNZ

  • Why doesnt America and the Uk stop spending billions killing people and rather spend it saving people?

  • Nice to see her played bodhran, she's still looks "cool".....and of corrs, beautiful!

Reminds me with "Corrs" times, very much...

  • great I love this project! Playing drums together around the world in order to be heard for those who need.

That's a basic solidarity for me...

So happy to see Caroline playing again!!

I love her!! please come back on stage!!

  • @utterlymoot The idea is to highlight a cause, to bring attention to a very bad situation, whether you are a drummer, musician, dancer or not the point is the people who are suffering and making us news dulled westerners aware of it.

  • caroline corr *_*.

  • exactly

  • It brings people together

  • this video is amazing

  • @MrBlankspace what are you doing with your life to help anyone? I'd rather listen to someone banging on a drum for peace then you banging on with bullshit comments, and by the way, the name you are using on hear MrBlankspace is that referring to your mind?its just an observation on my part you brain-dead toss-pot

  • its a very nice and peaceful video

  • Also followed Gaiman's tweet. A great way of increasing international awareness of the plight of Sudan. Thank you.

*Boom**boom**boom* will have to replace the need for a video reply as I do not have a musical bone in my body :(

  • Great job!!!

  • That was neat and all, but I'm confused. How does drumming youtube vids help Sudan?

  • i think its supposed to be spreading awareness about whats happening in sudan

  • The same way as any other form of advertisement--by getting people's attention, then telling them about the problem and giving a call to real action.

It's helpful because it can get people to listen and take notice of something they might normally ignore, but it can also be dangerous if people fall into the trap of thinking "awareness" on its own will do any good. Awareness without action is useless, but awareness, for many, is the first step.

  • awareness, collective unconscious, unified will, positive energy, call it what you will, it is something rather than nothing.

  • awareness, collective unconscious, unified will, positive energy, call it what you will, it is something rather than nothing.

  • Presumably, the video concept is shared around, and a percentage of viewers will follow up by visiting the organisation's website and taking the suggested action. Or is that too rational for the Internet.

  • it raises awareness

  • I thinks its supposed to increase awareness amongst different communities..

  • awareness!?

  • @UtterlyMoot It's not just a youtube vid. Those are famous drummers around the world gathered in a humanitary collectif (don't know if it's the right word) and this is just a promoting vid cos they will play together again in south africa soon to support help for sudan again ^_~

  • @UtterlyMoot

A lot of the problem is that people don't know what's happening, and so won't campaign or do anything to help solve it. So these videos help get awareness and hopefully at least some of the people who hear of it, act on it. Anyway; drums are awesome :P

  • By helping raise awareness.

  • luved it..

    thnx for posting

  • i liked that maltchik in Paris. Nice sound.

  • yeah lets all be middle class students n a gap year lmao word up fools Bang dat bass

  • a beat 4 peace. that a catchy name lol hope it catches like swine flu lolss

  • Neil Gaiman sent me to see this wonderful and moving film. Thank you for making it.

I have shared it with my Norwegian friends on Twitter and Facebook.

  • Neil Gaiman linked me. Great video.

  • Tears of inspiration from the music, sadness from the necessity of the cause. Passing this along, thank you so much Neil for posting this, and to everyone who participates.

  • Also here through Neil Gaman's tweet.

  • I was sent here by Amanda#s boyfriend as well... nice one NG

  • Brilliant, very moving, glad I watched the whole thing. Will tweet to try and spread the word

  • Neil Gaiman sent me as well. Percussion is the heartbeat of music. This is awesome. One thing you never hear about the genocide in the Sudan is the northerners are radical muslim sharia law jihadists who are killing the Southerners because they are Christians.

  • Awesome I'll do my best to spread the word. Here is to the human race growing up sooner rather than later.

  • Beautiful

  • Got here via Neil Gaiman's tweet also.

  • Same here. Loved it

  • This fantastic video was great idea to promote peace.

Thanks to Neil Gaiman's tweet I was able to watch it, and enjoy it!

  • Beautifully edited, and an important message.

  • Great video. Very Important Message.

  • This is absolutely beautiful. I came because of Neil Gaiman's tweet, and I stayed because it's wonderful, powerful.

  • FABULOUS IDEA to promote peace. Let's hope it gives peace a chance in Sudan and brings global awareness.

  • I'll be sharing this message with everyone I can reach...soul warriors of the world unite! Thank you for giving us a Peace Beat to march to instead of a battle cry, JC. Go well, you loving Soldier of Light xxx Oons xxx
