lol The outer senshi weren't around when the moon kingdom was destroyed. They were beyond the asteroid belt, making sure the kingdom was protected from alien forces; a.k.a.: Sailor Saturn.
Back then, they feared that Saturn would bring destruction; just like they feared she would during the Pure Heart Arc. She wasn't bad, but she would have definately destroyed the Moon Kingdom if she felt she needed to.
I know they were afraid. Thing is, according to a Wikipedia article, Saturn had to finish off the Moon Kingdom after Beryl came so that the scouts could be reborn.

Woah now. Saturn's not the bad guy. They were suppose to keep stuff that's outside from getting in. They were wrong about Saturn.
