  • What is the name of the song playing in the background?

  • very nice!!!!

  • don't show better no standard no taste no skills no taichi wei tao ok...forget it long time to go better take off vid waste space

  • He doesn't seem to have the steady leg power I'm used to seeing in chen taichi demos, particularly in some of the step transitions.

  • wether you practice a jab stepping forwards or backwards, its still a jab. Tai chi and all styles are a concept, and not merely just a set of movements

  • Very cool type of Chen style tai chi.

  • Who is this man? What's his lineage? I'm asking because i'm learning the same form. I'm learning from Hai Yang which is a student of Ma Hong. The movements are the same but the jing are different.

  • Stop motion camera, hehehe...

  • Yes, this old man is great!

The style he performs is not the Chen Village's traditional one, but one developed by Chen Zao Kui, a grandmaster from the Chen' Village who later settled down in Beijing. Therefore it is the Beijing Chen's Taiji

  • This is great, very elegant moves

  • Hey, if you put the video on this site, then expect comments to be made, whether serious,or in jest. Sounds to me like the comment may have bruised your ego just a bit. Sorry 'bout that. If I were to put a video on the site, no matter what comments were made, I would have to take them as they come. Cai jian.

  • I don't mean u are "wrong". Don't be serious.

I don't practise taiji. I did all these jobs for others at my own expense. I don't care whether your/their taiji is "right" or "wrong". But in the process, I did watch a lot of taiji demos. What I can say is taiji is no maths. It's more an art IMO, and it is not easy to conclude the rights or wrongs of their craft.

From my observation, one characteristic of taiji fans is being critical of others and always think they are more right than others.

  • Looks like a variation of a Beijing form of Xin Jia Yi Lu. Not in proper sequence. Some stepping forward was done on the toes & not on the heel, which is incorrect. Some movements not done properly.

  • Just an exercise, not for real teaching. I made it for testing the camera, don't be serious :-)

  • @rose8491

You are wrong Rose on the toe stepping or heel stepping. Chen Tai Chi has certain steps with heel or toe. Toe stepping is to feel the floor first before stepping. It is also called cat walking.

Sequence is also irrelevant Rose. Each movement can be connected to another movement. Certain schools or teachers will teach you "their" sequence.

I can identify many flaws in this guys movement but I will refrain from commenting.
