Don't have room for two bass drums, and no need to get Axis pedals because I'm more efficient now. This was my first video up, back in December of 2007, and I had only been playing double bass for four months.

After years of that simple warmup lesson, I learned to play all the RUSH stuff with a SINGLE kick. I can still do triplets with one kick. It's very hard to switch after you have been using your whole leg since beginning, so don't change because of some old guys' suggestion. Haha....you are doing great!

It's such a personal choice how to play the kick, but a real pro would tell you "Heel planted" and not to move your enitre leg up and down. It takes years of discipline but you are doing AWESOME and whatever works for you, works for you!

My instructor (who you had to audition for and was top 3 in Canada), taught me that way. Start of every lesson he would make me sit there, heel planted, hitting 16th's as hard as possible until my front of my calve BURNED! Anything you played after was easy!
