This is the first time I have understood longboarding. It looks more like a leisure and a speed thing. I thought it was lame at first. I still think skateboarding is better because it's cooler looking in videos for the tricks. I guess for a stroll though, a longboard is a baws or for some kick ass speed.

i live in hawaii i have all my life im 16 & i do the same thing all the time since i was like ten self taught completely all u gotta do too slide is,u know the feeling when u lose controll cuz u turn too hard well when u put your hand down u have complete controll oer the board no wait is on the board its all in your hand.also you can make gloves by cutting up a cutting board (plastic) heat it up and stick it too a garden glove,u neen too put it low too so u are able to grab the lip when u turn

Not so true my friend. Its a different kind of skill in longboarding. Especially coming around some sick hairpin corners and mountain roads. Our environment is not as controlled as a skate park. They are two different sports entirely. I know a guy that can absolutely rip up the pool and pipe. But get him on a hill and ask him to go over 30 mph. Not gonna happen. The two sports arent comparable. Its like apples and oranges. Park skaters have their niche Longboarders have ours. Cheers man

u can either slide (drift ) with board to shed speed....use a foot slide (touch foot on ground as brake) or a good old fashioned bail in a grassy length
