Next time you decide to destroy a more than decent piece of machinery, do us all a favor and drive it and yourself off the best cliff you can find so you cant reproduce, pissant ass-hole.
i bought a 98 for 350 bucks forest green paint..and ran with title and keys...needed a rear control arm..a tune up/oil change and she over heated...one day he cut off on me in the middle of the street so i junked her because i was ridin dirty an had no time or money to put into him...but im working on a 92 grand prix :)
i gotta 92 chev lum that has had a blown head gasket for eight years and is only leaking coolant badly now. these cars are fuckin beasts. if u cant see that from the video itself ur blind
Luminas are probably the toughest cars ever, lol, how many luminas do you see broken(other than Z34s),My moms LS had well over 200k miles, just like the 3 before that and still ran great, and the girl we sold it to wrecked it so hard the spoiler fell off the trunk. Now she has a 98 Lumina LTZ (bad ass car) with leather, sunroof and 205 hp V6,with (sigh) 150k miles :( No one respects any lumina,I saw a loaded 98 LTZ on ebay,205k miles, makes me wanna puke.
i have a 98 lumina with 114k miles and i have a bad intake gasket, engine mount is broken or bolt is bad. oh and front right shock is busted and washer fluid pump is bad. and i give this thing hell. shock and engine mount busted from me going off roading with it :P
I've got a 92 3.1L Lumina at 130k miles, it's had a few problems and some work done, new exhaust, new brake line, nothing seriously major, but sometimes the engine runs screwy and the transmission has problems in 50-60 mph range at times, hasn't done it lately though, but I'd say I've had it to about 120 mph before (spedomoter stops at 85 but the car sure as hell doesn't) but can anyone give me an estimate how many miles they think I can expect out of it?
Wow.... that was a rather large amount of superfluous information. I have no idea how many miles you can expect out of your Lumina but if you treat it like we treated ours... about 50 miles.
People who take care of their Lumina's commonly reach 200,000 miles or more. In fact, they've been known to reach 300,000 to 400,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. Thing is, although the engine itself is long-lasting and durable, the car itself is rather cheap.
@8888Jmaster my 1992 lumina euro with the 3.1 has 346,621 miles on it, i had to replace the water pump serpitine belt and basic service and i beat the hell out of it everyday since 1995 and shes still goin strong
What's the exact model of that Lumina? I have a '92 with a 3.1L V-6, but it runs pretty damn good. I've even taken it to around 115 with relative ease.
I'm not sure what mine tops out at. I have the same model as the one in the video, but the speedo only goes to 85. However, I have maxed out a digital radar before (only goes to 99), so I know I can exceed 100 mph. I think mine hits 110 to 120 range.
Poor lumina - I would have babied it until it died b/c those cars are durable as hell. But hey if you have the money and time then have at it. The 3.1L is boring and slow, but it's almost impossible to kill. You guys proved the "almost" part =) hehe
Haha, the Luminas can definitely take a beating. I had a '99, bought it with 80,000 miles on it, and after 3 hard years and another 200,000 miles, it finally died.
I had a Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1 with over 210,000 miles on it, and no matter how hard i revved it, or beat on it, it refused to break. (i did take care of the maintenance tho') One hell of a car they were.
FUCK WMG!!!

How about you do us all a favor and run over Micah instead? He sounds like a jerk who doesn't know how to mind his own business.
BTW, Project Lumina was an inspiration to us all. Thank you so much for pushing the envelope.

Oh, by the way, forgot to mention that a Lumina like yours/ours will limit around 110 mph apparently.
