  • *immediately goes to try it out*

    20 minutes later...

YAY I FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!!!

  • Can someone post the notes played? Because he went WAY too fast.

  • Thank you for this! This is my favorite song from Rent - cried the first time I heard it. Me and my music theatre friends love it, and now I can play it when we all want to sing it.

  • thanks this was really helpful! i cant read sheet music so watching is great for me! im also a HUGE rent fan so thanks for doing a lot of rent songs!!

  • good job. you can do it on any key. i play this starting with the Bflat. learned from the sheet music. Bflat, C, down 4 to the F, octave higher F,back down an octave to that F you just hit before, same Bflat as before, same C, than that octave higher F.

Than start with the A replacing the Bflat but everything else the same.

Than back to the first way starting with the Bflat.

Lastly D,E,F,D,C,F,E,C. all the ones close together. good luck understaing that. hehe. best way i can describe.

  • thanks, but it's a bit fast when you go through the one finger bit. could you repost this slower, or add the notes into the Video Discription. Cheers xx

  • I play piano by ear. I can't read music worth crap for some reason...took lessons...by ear and watching are the only ways I can learn but once I watch it or hear it I can play it. So yes...in a nut shell..THANK YOU YOU ROCK!!! lol

  • It's much easier to play on the guitar. I'm sure even people who've never played guitar before would be able to get it in about three minutes. ^^

  • that was one of the first songs i learned to play on guitar, actually :P playing it on piano's easier, though, for me, anyway.

  • toooo faaast!! Please slow down!

  • get the music, then

  • you should really half 2 octaves of B then B flat then D sharf C sharf in the bass...where its obvious xxx good tho xxx

it took me like 2 minutes to learn tho, my friend is amazing on piano

    lol

  • dude it's D sharP and c sharP not sharf ... and it's not half 2 octaves it's have 2 octives ... really learn some grammar .

  • i got it thankss.

  • Hey,

I did not quite get that.

Could you (or someone else) reply with the actual notes because i will screw up trying to watch and write them down.

    THANKS!

  • I don't play piano, but thanks for posting this!

  • do you need to play it with your left hand or can it be played using your right hand?

  • Oh, yeah, you can use your right hand. I think it's harder to use your left hand since Im a rightie.

  • thanks for this video it is so cool

  • This will sound odd but you have nice hands.

  • Dude, get a better piano. Your plastic key impact makes sounds that disrupt the audio.

I thought it was some drums in the background at first. That or move your camera mic away farther.

  • my old mic did that just from the sounds of the keyboard, not the impact. If I shouted it'd make that noise too.

  • thank but please please please go slower.

  • god, your hands are like twice as huge as mine.. i've only been at piano for 5 years.. but thanks for everything! now i can.. barely play it with my tiny hands xD

  • this was awsome! thank you sooo much. but a suggestion...go a tad slower when u teach please

  • yessss...thank youu ..i needed this

  • can someone please tell me the actual notes cuz im trying to play it on the guitar

  • thanks so much! this really helps! :]

  • so great!!

i ahev watched this sooo many times....ive almost got it!....i think.

    outtonight dot piczo dot comm

  • I saw that in the sheet, but the sheet also had you playing the melody which is stupid. I didn't like the way that sounded and I don't really notice in the song.

    :)

  • acctuly its two hands thats the left hand part the right hand goes

    |B 3 1/2 B 1 1/2|Bb 3 1/2 Bb 1 1/2|B 3 1/2 B 1 1/2|Eb 1 1/2 Eb 1/2 C# 1 1/2 C# 1/2| then repeat. thats the right hand for the 4 bar intro and through out the whole song. the numbers after the not is how many beats the note has.

  • sorry if i sound stupid, but i don't understand what you're saying by the "3 1/2" things.

  • B for 3 and 1/2 beats for example thats like a B not that is a doted Half note

  • o ok thank you!

  • YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I LOVE YOU!!! This is the greatest song of all time. <3

  • hey can u send me a message by tellin me it by cdefgab way please i can only read it like that i cant read the notes please

  • can u send me that to, I tried to write it down but....um, that didn't turn out well considering I don't know the notes too well...
