j.k. rowling said that was what happened, or is going to happen in her new harry pottor book.

"harry pottor and the things that make no sense"

  • @TheMattShow1011 Fake. --' And it's "Harry Potter" with a -e not a -o. --'

  • Thank you thank you for uploading this epic soundtrack :).

  • when we were at the midnight showing when the movie came out, a guy behind us squeled in a girly voice "DOBBY!"

  • since Dobby died by a knife i do not use knifes anymore!

  • "Master Weasley, it's so good to see you."

  • @TeamEdwardJacob44 Like Yoda in S.W.

  • @keesvdijkhuizen AGREED. SO awkward! XD

  • I LOVE DOBBY!!!!!! <3

  • Poor Dobby. After reading the whole series I got even closer to Dobby - as not only do they delve more into his character but he was brought back in book 3 or 4 I think, not just book 7. Pity, I always loved him! Go Dobby! :)

  • @OnionAnimations he was in 2,4,5,6 & 7, i hate how he got cut out

  • DOBBYYY! :D He's so funny in this movie. x) But, naturally, I cried like a big baby when he died. :(

  • that awkward moment when the two top rated comments are identical...

  • 2:10 The Dobbfather

  • How the two highest comments are exactly the same...

  • R.I.P. Dobby

  • Why the fuck did they kill Dobby :(

  • @LilGrey456 'cause that was unexpected that is why JK Rowling killed Dobby

  • @LilGrey456 they killed Dobby because it is an unexpected death that can make people care that little more about not just that character that died, but that little bit more about the other characters and you feel more for other characters that die, it is a technique used to captivate audiences to characters, y'know, an emotional thing.

  • @swtlilz5 it's definitely the latter. around 2:20 you can definitely hear the same music they play when Harry, Ron and Hermione look at each other and then the picture of Umbridge on the Daily Prophet...

  • i love Bellatrix and i liked Dobby .........i dont know

  • 2:18

    Dobby Corleone

  • I'm waiting Molly to kill Bellatrix in Part two...

Hope they don't cut out this scene!

  • I cried like a four year old who just fell of their tricycle when I witnessed Dobby's death in the theater. :'(

  • WE MISS U DOBBY!!! FIRST SIRIUS AND NOW DOBBY... HOW COULD YOU KILL SO MANY BELOVED PPL BELATRIX?!

  • RIP Dobby

  • 2:34 - Great inclusion of Hooper's original Ministry of Magic theme. Great suspension throughout before Desplat's original theme comes into play

  • DOBBBYYYYYYYYYY! :-(

  • DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB-BB YYYYYYYYYY D: We all miss you!

  • It shocked me that after the wedding scene there was no music until Dobby arrived, ok yes there were the odd, very scary and tantalizing snip bits but this is the next melody and solid composition

  • I tottaly love dobby and I love his SHOES ! haha :D

  • I cried listening to this, knowing Dobby is no longer with us. But i'm wrong, he's always with us, in our hearts, his name, Dobby, the free elf. Omg i just made myself cry typing that, please excuse me now, i'm going to go and stare at a picture od Dobby till my tears stop. :'(

  • @snowyangel97 In this scene Dobby is still alive.

  • For me all this changes in director, screenplay and music score make series look completely incoherent. I will always remember "Order Of Phoenix" which was completely abortive. And "The Half-Blood Prince" was not good, i like only this scene in the cave with Dumbledore.

  • @KarolinaMisia The real problem was that the movies started to be filmed before the books finished.

  • @yonythemoony Maybe that's the reason. But the main cause it was that any good director of each part doesn't want to direct it the second time. Only Chris Columbus directed two parts. So they found such David Yates who likes commercial movies and make it.

  • @TeamEdwardJacob44 nah i liked mundungus. except the way the movie portrayed him was not how i expected him to look.

  • It was awful when watching theDH in a theatre; the audience laughed when they saw Dobby for the frst time. I knew better that he would die soon.

  • Dobby: ...HELL-OH! XD

I nearly choked on my apple peels when he appeared on Harry's bed at Hogwarts in CoS

  • Me and my boyfriend never cried so hard at Dobby's death.

  • Who would consider that Alexandre Desplat would be an excellent alternative for Howard Shore if he couldn't return to do "The Hobbit" Pts. 1&2?

If he could recapture the spirit of John Williams he can do the same for Howard Shore.

  • @AspergianMind Desplat do "The Hobbit"? No f****** way! He would destroy it! He is way out of the league of such masters as Zimmer, Shore and Williams, and I mean, WAY below. He would be an abysmal choice.

Pretty much like he destroyed this movie. The only pieces worth listening to are this one and "Ministry of Magic" and only for the first minute or so.

Desplat did not recapture the spirit of John Williams' music. He just released a travesty of a soundtrack.

  • @kamil99994 eat a bag of baby dicks. Desplat did better for this series than williams.

  • @clovie101 Keep telling yourself that, douchebag. Desplat isn't even close to the level of Williams. Or any other great composer out there. His music is bland and repetitive and uninspired, with the minor exception of this and the "Ministry of Magic" track.

At least the fact that Williams is going to be co-composing with Desplat on Part 2 lends me some hope that Williams will not let Desplat release another travesty of soundtrack.

  • @kamil99994 No, that was just a rumor bitch.

  • @clovie101 Well then, I have no hope for the Part 2 soundtrack either, dumbass.

  • @kamil99994 sucks for you. i bet it will be the best.

  • @clovie101 Keep dreaming. But you'll have to wake up eventually and realise...that it's not.

"Sky Battle" has to be the worst battle music I've ever heard. I am terrified to think what Desplat will do with the "Battle of Hogwarts".

  • @kamil99994 HAHA dude you suck at lying.

  • @clovie101 Lying? I didn't lie. "Sky Battle" IS the worst battle music I've ever heard.

Quite frankly, I don't even know why I am arguing with you, when my original comment wasn't even aimed at you.

  • @kamil99994 by worst you mean best in the series then yes.

  • @clovie101 Best in the series? You've got to be joking. "Death of Sirius" (what a depressing title) by Hooper was about fifty, no, hundred times better. Just because you are convinced "Sky Battle" is the best in the series, doesn't make it so.

  • @kamil99994 , and just because you say it isn't, means shit.

Im saying we all have different opinions, and just because its not the same of yours doesn't mean im wrong.

  • @clovie101 "we all have different opinions."

Finally we get to the point. Now that we've cleared THAT up, at least there's one thing we can agree on.

No, it doesn't mean you are wrong, neither does it mean I'm wrong. So goodbye.

  • @kamil99994 You sound like the Williams fanboy idiot of BatboyInTheDarkness. Williams isn't going to come back, and Desplat is going to stay. And you must be deaf if you didn't listened the homages that Desplat made to the Harry Potter composers.

And unlike Williams, Desplat is a Harry Potter fan and he knows how special is the saga. And his score for Part 1 was faithful to the book's spirit, something that Williams never achieved with his Hook/Home Alone-esque scores (except for POA).

  • @yonythemoony To be fair, I prefer the likes of Zimmer, Newton-Howard, Shore and others to Williams. Homage or no homage, including two seconds of Hedwig's Theme isn't going to salvage a piece if the rest is trash. And I don't see why being a "fan" classifies you as being able to produce more faithful and enjoyable music. Shore wasn't exactly a fan of Tolkien, yet I'd like to see someone produce a more suitable soundtrack for LOTR than him, which was the main point of my comment above. Moron.

  • @kamil99994 i respectvily disagree. i nelieve that desplat did a godd job but we all have our opinions.

  • @MrTmans9s Fair enough.

  • @MyDanDoo we shall see.

  • @MyDanDoo are you a man who interviews filmmakers? I am not lying. If you don't believe then you do not have to. I was at the premiere.

  • "Dobby did not mean to kill, merely maim or severely injure, but never kill!"

  • @theLegendofZelda2009 i luv ur username!

  • from 2:35 onwards im guessing thats when you see harry and ron outside the ministry

  • @PunkyFish208 Yeah

  • I hear Dobby's theme from CoS at 0:09.

  • So I'm guessing at 2:21 Dobby meets Don Corleone lol

  • I swore that if Dobby were not appearing in this movie, I would not watch it because to have him only in Chamber of secrets would be dumb. I'm mad they did not put him in the other films when in the books he was

  • @davedirector7 Leaving out Dobby and Winky in the fourth book was a huge mistake.

  • Dobby was really annoying in Chamber of Secrets ('I'm helping by breaking your arm, Harry Potter') but he was really awesome here.

All the more sad to see him go.

  • Did anyone else smile when Dobby was revealed in this scene? I certainly did and it hurt lol

  • i still wish richard harris could of been dumbledoore

  • @takahashiwongwong I wish so too, but he died just after he finished Chamber of secrets. May he rest in peace

  • @davedirector7 i know ): hell always be the real dumbledoore in my eyes if he was alive today ehs still be dumbledoore

  • John Williams is REALLY good at what he does. That's it, he's just a master at his art. I love the first soundtracks of the franchise, it's what defines what we hear when we think 'Harry Potter'; which is saying a lot. But it is true that people shouldn't judge too quickly with different composers, there have been new actors to these films, as well as directors, so a new composer is no different. I think for this one Alex did a great job with the whole sinister, darker tone of Deathly Hallows :)

  • @Kapolena to add to that: John Williams has been nominated for 45 oscars throughout his life. Including for the Harry Potter score

  • He stood up to Bellatrix and that takes bravery. He had bravery and love bigger then his little body. "DOBBY HAS NO MASTER! DOBBY IS A FREE ELF, AND DOBBY HAS COME TO SAVE HARRY POTTER AND HIS FRIENDS!" He returned and died a hero. Dobby- a free elf and a true friend

  • "Dobby did not mean to kill, only to maim or seriously injure" :D

  • Oh goodness. I got so happy when Dobby appeared.

  • Dobby is Desplat's favorite character in the Harry Potter books. He said it in a interview:

Do you have a favorite Potter character, in both story and music?

I love Dobby. He is fun, innocent, brave and wears great, red sneakers.

  • RIP Dobby, a Free Elf ♥

  • I MISS DOBY!

( OOOPS I DIDN'T MEAN TO GIVE THAT ONE AWAY)

  • John Williams is no doubt a fabulous composer, but don't judge Desplat until you've heard these songs in the movie. They fit perfectly. Desplat did an awesome job.

  • dobby is sooo great & in this movie - perfect - xD

  • ahh!! i really love the beginning of this!

  • hello!! what is the name of the song when Harry dance whit hermione?? i

  • @rockeryuna O'Children by Nick Cave. Awesome Song *_*

  • @TheWasski that song has been on repeat on my computer for hours.

  • HEY PEOPLE! I dont like WILLIAMS! Do you have ears??? He's just like Desplat. I LIKE HOOPER BACK!

  • @wish62988 Hooper isn't coming back, he said we wasn't going to do more HP films after OOTP and HBP. Get that through your thick head.

  • @mcjwserenity Hooper considered to do part 2, Get that through your rude head.

  • @ivkoacount None of the interviews I've read or seen with Hooper, he never said he considered scoring the final two films. Both he and Yates confirm that Hooper wanted to step down after HBP, because he was exhausted and wanted to move on. Where are you getting this stuff? Desplat is scoring Part 2, enough said.

  • This sounds really good, and I think all songs will fit perfectly to the movie! :'3

  • Wow. People John Williams will be collaborating in part 2 lol don't worry. But i agree about the changing of the soundtracks

  • Oh. My. Glee. My favorite composer is doing Harry Potter??? I think I just died. I'm writing this comment from Heaven. I am glad that Williams is doing collab work for Part II, though. I LOVE this.

  • Can't wait for the sheet music!!!

  • this sounds like Danny Elfman...

JOHN WILLIAMS FOR PATR II! Pleeeeeaseeee.

  • @MeSandyMusic No. Fail. Alexandre Desplat has already been commissioned to do Part II. End of story.

  • dobby =´( i Love him <3

  • For everybody who wanted williams to come back ,i think you need to reconsider. The series as a whole has been about change, both in the story and in the production. In the catagory of soundtracks, change is what keeps them interesting. If all the scores were like the first 2, we would get very bored, very quickly. Alex has brought his own touch to the series that will evoke its own coherence to the film. His orchestration his fantastic. And no one can judge him until theyve heard it in film.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22

I saw it... and in the movie it's wondurfull!!! ^^

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 you are wrong my friend :) Fans will love for John Williams to return and as @nocturne2630 pointed out-he will be collaborating and that would be good. Fans really want Williams to return and that would be the right thing to do. After all, its not like he didnt come up with the most infamous score for Harry Potter.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 One name comes to mind.

    Howard Shore.

What he did with the Lord of the Rings score is genius, and this crap Desplat spewed out can't even compare. Where the hell is the Harry Potter theme? I understand introducing new themes...but going back to the roots of the beginning is a cornerstone of epic stories....I've listened to every track on this soundtrack and they all sound the same...with minor hints to previous themes here and there. They BETTER fix that in Part 2's score.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 What the fuck!!! Who the fuck, ever told you that the series were about change??? The change actaly made The goblet of Fire, and The order of the phoenix such a awfull, and bad movies compared to teh others, the same with patrick doyles music, wich wasnt touchign anythign an ddidnt sound like his previous movie composers

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 ....JOHN WILLIAMS WILL RETURN TO DO A COLLABORATION WITH DESPLAT. I THINK THAT IS KINDA A GOOD WAY TO MUSICALLY END THE SERIES. THE ENDING THEME FROM THE FIRST TWO MOVIE WERE SO CONCLUSIVE IN ITS OWN WAY. I GOOD CHORD OR HARRY POTTER THEME LIKE ENDING WITH THE BEST COMPOSER IN THE WORLD AND ANOTHER WHO IS ALSO REMARKABLE, WILL BE THE EST WAY TO CONCLUDE THIS SERIES.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22

Everything you say is valid. But the music we associate with the entire Harry Potter franchise will always be "Hedwig's Theme"...not just because Williams was there first, but because He writes memorable scores. It would have been nice to hear an iconic, memorable, THEMATIC, score again. Desplat, while refreshingly different and appropriate for this movie, is ultimately forgettable.

Williams laid the foundation and it would have been great to see him return.

  • @VforVideo yes but desplat does make the music have the same hp feel to it. i think its good that they have different ppl doing the soundtrack becasue yes, it does give us more of a variety

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 I love what Alexandre Desplat has done here, but I'd have to disagree, John Williams is a stylistic chameleon and he will suit whatever manifestation the series takes. Listen to Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack if you doubt it. Oh, and the orchestration for Deathly Hallows was done by Conrad Pope who did the orchestration for the first two Potter films, so...

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 John Williams will be collaborating with Alexandre Desplat for part 2.

Not to mention-what in the world are you talking about? John William's music is outstanding and he is great in darkening the mood as well. Look at his other works. Don't judge like you said unless you've heard all of his other works.

  • I agree, although I was very disappointed with the Order of the Phoenix score.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22

you are soo right !! (-:

  • Comment removed

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 While I quite agree with you, and while I love these pieces, I don't think they fit for the character or scene they were applied to.

  • @Chopdopple I hear ya. It never really stood out at all did it? With some exceptions, his score remained mostly in the background. And thats not a bad a thing either, it just means it wont be the kind of in-your-face blockbuster score that wins academy awards.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 i know and im split between being happy that Williams is back and not being happy that he's back. Williams is an amazing composer (check out his other work) and this guy did a truly AMAZING job with this ost but i cant help but remember that Williams wrote the original Hedwig's Theme.

  • @Sk1nnyV1nny22 u r rite in sum ways & i've also luved all the composers very much!! but i just want john williams to finish wat he started.....i mean he shud do the last part now cuz he was the 1 who gave the signature tune to the whole series the hedwig theme!! & i think he did give a lot of change to his soundtracks especially after HP1 & 2 in POA he was really different

  • Masterpiece of OST.

  • In my opinion it sounds a lot like moments in Prisoner of Azkaban, the medieval / harpsichord feel... I think people wouldn't be satisfied unless it sounded exactly like movies 1 and 2.. which of course it wouldn't even if Williams was on board!

  • this doesn't sound like harry potter at all

  • @baconater1029 That's because it's supposed to sound like Dobby lol (I get what you're saying though).

I do think that Desplat did a very good job though, but I understand where you're coming from.

  • @baconater1029 yes it does

  • Dont get me wrong i luv this music but i realy want john williams for part 2

JOHN WILLIAMS FOR PART 2!!!!!! THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE

  • @BigRalphFiennesFan Um its been decided Im all for John Williams but if he dosent return Im really glad this guy will continue and its been confirmed John williams was only rumored Alexandre is returning for Part 2 and behind John Williams hes the best choice hes the second best in HP if I look at Music and Im glad he came for Part 1 :D

  • @SirTimothyMarton yeah, his music is realy good and i like it, but i really wanted john williams for part 2.

  • @BigRalphFiennesFan Me too I really wouldve liked John William to return but I just saying if he couldnt return Im glad they stuck with this guy he says he read the books saw the movies but the only soundtracks he listened to really were 1 2 3 John williams's cause he felt he has to capture the origonal essence and yeah John wouldve been brilliant if he'd returned but in the end if it had to go down this road Im glad Desplat stuck around :D

  • @SirTimothyMarton aww thanks, thats probably the nicest reply ive had all week :)

  • @BigRalphFiennesFan lol :D I was just giving my opinion :D and I truly feel it came out the best way in the end :D

  • @BigRalphFiennesFan Mr. Desplat has already been confirmed for part II. Fail.
