Got to have CG. There is way too much much mysticism and supernatural elements in the film. None of which could have been sold to the viewer without digital recreation.

Way better than the original. That movie wasnt even watchable except for people who grew up in that era. This film was able to deliver that story to today's generation.

This movie was a HUGE disappointment. I had a really high hope on this one. Even with the new budget and CGI it's just no good. Credit to the fabulous actress playing the Tree Evil Madam/Lo Lo.

The original was the best with the sequel 2 and 3 just as entertaining.

If you like this kind of movie, you should also watch The Golden Swallow, which had Cherry Chung playing the lead character.

agreed. You know, that version was actually funnier than in Thai dubbed (usually Thai dubbed Chinese movies are funnier than in the original language because they tend to insert off-screen comments/jokes).

just watch it and it was really good.

the sfx were good to loved the fighting scene between the spirit masters nice sfx.

my over rating 5/5.
