the whippets are having the best time racing ,i used to take my 2 whippets up to the strait track on Dons rd ,Healsville Vic .they and all the other dogs loved it and would go crazy at the sound of the mechanical lure, happy sleepy dogs when we got home
Which is quicker a greyhound or whippet over 40metres? I think the whippet would be fairly competive over a short distance but after a few seconds the greyhound would soon be in front and far superior e,g, 60metres+ Wonderful creatures the whippet. Maybe an Italian greyhound could give the whippet a run for its money from a standing start say less than 25metres and a hare over 15metres the story goes on.
Ya. you can tell from when their puppies they love to run. Besides, they run on their own chasing that little toy. So if they became injured or tired they can easily quit. But they dont..because they LOVE racing! its like saying that human racing is cruel.

How horrific and criminal to use these beautiful whippets for bloody racing. They get dumped and murdered after racing. You people should be investigated.
We don't race our whippets for money. It is purely for the fun of it. These beautiful dogs are our family pets and most definitely do not get dumped afterwards. Our two girls are currently relaxing on our lounge in the sun. Check out our other videos of our girls playing at home. Hopefully that will relieve your concern. Thanks for being so concerned about whippets though. We love our whippets and are glad others out there do too.
my mate races his whippet, only coss the dog LOVES it, it's all for fun, no money involved and he looks after his 2 whippets better than some ppl olook after their kids.
Jun7per, with all due respect, whippets in general love running. it doesnt hurt them, and its not abusing them. why would u think they are killed afterward?? makes no sense to me
jun7per, whippets are not greyhounds (those get killed if they aren't rescued and can't get a home), there is no business in whippet racing, it's to keep the dogs happy and healthy.
@jun7per whippets are raced for fun...if they didnt enjoy it they wouldnt chase the hare!! they dont race for large prizemoney therefore people do not race them to make money, dont comment on these videos making stupid comments, if they werent racing and having fun they would be locked up in a backyard bored for their entire lives...which by your comment im sure thats what you want!!
The track is at Ipswich, QLD, Australia... we have been training there for an invitational race in a few weeks time. Hopefully i'll get a good vide of that race.
this dog makes my dog look like he is running in slow motion

Provided they get loving homes, racing whippets is not cruel. They love running. I have a whippet and he loves chasing things!
