Thank you! I like my grandpa's singing as well, I had one of his CD's a few years ago, but I'm not positive what happened to it! It was fun growing up listening to his songs.
Hmm...I have a question about copyright. Is it okay for the competition to use more than 30 seconds of a song? I'm an advisor...and these copyright rules are pretty strict. Just wondering....
We'll I made this my senior year of high school. And as far as I know you can only use 30 seconds of a song before copyrights start to come into play. You can only use 30 seconds UNLESS you get the written approval of the artist (whether it be a song or other art) And luckily my grandfather wrote and sings this song, so I just asked him for permission, had him sign the form, and it all worked out fine :D
It got me to Reno last year, I got first place in my state (Montana) but I turned the necessary forms in late, so that took a HUGE portion off of my final form. But my teacher thinks that had I turned the forms in on time that I would have had a great shot of getting on stage at Reno.
thats an awesome video it gave me a good idea of what they are looking for im doing this competition this year in alaska i dont exactly remeber what leader ship confrence its on i think nationals 09 in dallas
