First off the reason guys are scattering is not just because of the chance of explosion but in case the rocket motor ignites which to usuall does after leaving the launcher within that first 50 meters. If the rocket motor was to ignite right then it could burn up those men who launched it.
Actually, the ERYX missile proved pretty efficient in real combat, against Soviet-made tanks in Yugoslavia. It just doesn't work when untrained soldiers dunno how to handle it.
It's technology developped by Canada AND France together. The guy are regular Cnadian army, but a francophone regiment: the Royal 22nd. It has been "royalded" by the Queen of england herelf as a mark of respect. This regiment as fought in Vimy ridge, Verdun, Normandie, Italia, Germany, Syria, Chypria, Bosnia and Afghanstan. The Eryx was in is experimental phase when this shit happened. And the guy don't say "damn it's fast", you didn't really understand my friend.
I just read the Memoirs of an American artillery officer of WW1, who was trained by the French army and his unit equipped with French 155 mm guns ("Long Toms"). He surely didn't made fun of them.
The canadian ERYX can hit tank at 95% accuracy, percing 900mm armour. The guys on that video its just a noob , but in reality that missile its very awesome
This must be the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, then when it happened I couldn't stop laughing. The ending is so abrupt, I presume the cameraman just ran for his life!
Update: I just watched it again and it still creased me up!
haha stupid canadians go back to the woods

Lot of soldiers do shit job ,like Israel Helicopter crash, American crash in 2006 in Iraq, or canon fire accident in Korea.

I dont Think he is a "noob" as you wold say not much you can do when the missel is falty
PatchB22 3 years ago
yeah man its a reservist , i speak french dude ,and he say : What i suppose to say? .."damn its too fast "
Jimderkaisser 3 years ago
Beinf a soldier, I can tell that this happens rarely. Eryx is one of the best anti tank technology developped so far.
this shit happens a lot when soldiers fire mortars, but this time the consequences are dramatic.
Chill guys, french weaponry is one of the best believe me :)

genius. were did you get this. at the end are they panicking because there is an explosive right next to them?
thoughtpattern0 4 years ago
Yes.
But usually those missiles
arm themself only 100mt
(more or less) in the air.
But if I were them I was running for my
life as well.
