  • I think some of you are being a little harsh. Anything that promotes SP is surely a good thing. There are lots of different approaches and ways of working and EK is doing his best to show his way.

  • How do you mount the GoPro to your hot shoe?

  • Rip off artist.

  • He thinks stealing Bruce Gilden's in your face style makes him legit, not to mention name-dropping every SP he's Googled. Getting mom to pay for his Leica because all the "names" shoot Leica is a sad move, esp since he now thinks shooting film makes him a "real" SP because someone told him it would. He should be taking workshops, he's got no business running them, he's not shooting anything good, although his fanboys will keep telling him he's a god.... Give mom her money back.

  • Eric: Why do you find it necessary to always tell people why you took a picture? Do you think they care, or do you do it so that you won't get punched? It is so inauthentic, and creates a bad situation for those that are out there that actually care about humanity.

  • @gumanow lol what are you talking about man..!

  • @baxcarias78 If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand. Just watch the video and you'll see that Eric does this to disarm people, but it doesn't work most of the time. He says he'll delete a picture, and then uses it. I take pictures of people all the time without asking and if they don't talk to me I don't need to talk to them. It's a beginners response and in Eric's case inauthentic to say something that you don't actually mean.

  • @gumanow - but surely you only 'need' to communicate with someone who has evidently seen that you have taken their photo, and proximity is such that it would be very awkward not to acknowledge them. I think the fact they are going around in a big group and filming the whole thing probably changes the way he might work alone - in fact i've seen numerous videos in which he says 'don't make eye contact'. I think it's prob a bit unfair to judge his way of working based on this vid.

  • @gumanow I don't always always acknowledge to people that I took their photograph, but I feel very comfortable doing so at least in Downtown LA. The people here are incredibly friendly, and I know many of the small business owners in the fashion district as well. It all depends on the situation, and I always try to shoot with a smile and a warm heart.

  • it is like a bunch of hunters prowling and trying to impress each other with how good a "kill" they can make..This is not good, not good at all for SP or for the way photography can actually be of some social use. makes me very sad

  • Your new game of shooting film in an attempt to be someone of some importance to street photography is a sad hope to be "real". You copy every "name" street photographer that is or was... Nothing new here man, give it up. Sad. Really sad. An insult to the real shooters out there.

  • @pookiepookieca I'm really surprised to see your comment still here..each time I comment something similiar it gets deleted. One day SP is going to be illegal and it will be the fault of people like this. Too bad because Eric is a good man, has a good heart and is a decent person. but this is soooo boring and teaches nothing..except what NOT to do

  • @pookiepookieca Give him about another 2 weeks and he'll give it up. Once he doesn't get any more attention from it, he'll drop it. EK is all about attention. He gets plenty of it from those that think he invented SP.

  • @pookiepookieca who say's he isn't shooting with film just because he wanted to try it.. Not sure about the whole group thing, any photography is something best done alone, but I assume this is part of his class thing. I don't understand the hate..

  • so much chewing gum on the pavement!

  • the mom at 7:35

    ahahahah

  • Hm.. Im sorry but shooting in a group is NOT what I would call street photography.. Maybe a fun get togeather but.. Hm.. I would to dare to take any crazy pictures of people if I had a group of my friends surrounding me alla the time.. Hm..

  • @HogbergPhotography Why wouldn't it be? Should courage or not be the difference with street photography? Fair enough it's exciting shooting on your own but that doesn't mean it's not "street photography". It show you and your friends have different points of view and interests.

  • speeding through that film, heh

  • The awkward moment when one person tries to fist bump and the other tries to handshake.

  • Are you sold your M9? In last video you said you're on film now

  • Cool stuff man

  • Comment removed

  • I thought Dana was Thomas Leuthard

  • i love these video's the most. really takes you right in to the action

  • Keep up the film work!

  • I think a great thing to do would be to make prints of the people you took a picture of and give them a free print so the next time you go take pictures they'll take you as a friend

  • Now this I like. Nothing bad about a long video ( its like documenting) but clearly the GoPro being close to you we can pick up the audio of you and others. More with the GoPro if you can Eric.

  • Why do you always take a horizontal and a vertical shot? :p

  • @pedrito485 What else are you going to take?

  • @32ciege It depends on the situation.. the framing you want, your motive, etc.. But personally, I prefer to shot horizontal

  • You don't need a light meter, learn to read the light visually and calculate in your head using the sunny 16 rule. Enjoyable vid as always.

  • Nice vid and weather! Here in Finland is -24 celsius :)

  • @jusuttajah -17c in Latvia, i cant imagine how ppl live in LA its +32c in summer and no snow in winter
