I was errand boy in Mickie Most's offices and went in to take his tea, he flung it across the room cussing. I asked him the problem. He said Les Gray has tonsillitis and cannot record the song for Xmas. He showed me the arrangements and started singing it. He was amazed and asked if I could record it sounding like Elvis and Les in one. After 8 takes he said okay and gave me £300 (a lot of money for me then) to keep quiet about it. Did not say for how long though, so..
