They had considered making it photo-realistic, but then decided to go with something that would support the on-foot chases, the potential for which has risen greatly now that they've added some free-running mechanics.

the game was not stated as true crime hk, there was a female protagonist, but they changed it, after they noticed, female leadchars wouldn't sell at all.

so they changed leadchar and the name.

I love how the buildings are all in the wrong order and height but at the same time it clearly says HONG KONG on the badge... and I love how it's a US-style badge (cops in hong kong don't have metallic badges... they use cards for identification).

Unless the game is based in a fictional city that's also called Hong Kong...

Black Lotus was the project name before they unveiled it at the VGAs. The name was meant to kind of keep things on the low down until it was ready to be publicly announced. So yes, the game is True Crime and NOT Black Lotus.
